uSDHC class 4 vs. class 6 cards

Hi entire community

I have been looking for the answer, but found none. Can someone do a test with cards SDHC class 4 and 6?

Lets say:

-remove all data from the card (format)

-Put there say 200-500files = the same files on class4 and class6 (it would be perfect if it could be around 2 GB - 4 GB, so the statistical error will be smaller)

-clear pieces of rocket

-put the card in the reader and measure how long it will refresh database.

IM thinking of buy 8 GB SDHC, but I have still not decided if class 4 or 6.

Thanks for your time on the boards.

You can be too much thinking and assign too much importance to the potential results of such a test. Any difference between the 2 will be negligible if the refresh rate is concerned and even how long it takes to transfer the files from the computer to the card in the 1st place. A few seconds here or there won't Rob you of that a lot of your life. You'll probably wasting a lot more him trying to find the answer you are looking for.

More worrisome would be how much $$ is one against the other. And it certainly pays to shop around.

    Hi mikewinburn,

We cannot guarantee the functionality of this capacity of the card with the camera. But you can be sure that Sony has tested the cards of third parties such as SanDisk and proven that they work with our cameras. You can use cards with capacities larger than 64 GB, 128 GB and 256Go such as.

It is only 14.9 to any format (NTFS and FAT32 extFAT).

It has nothing to do with formats. You have a 14.9 GB card, not a 16GB
    one.

All hard drive manufacturers (and SD card manufacturers) defines 1 GB as
1 000 000 000 bytes, while the rest of the world of computing, including
    Windows, defines it as 2 to the 30th power bytes (1 073 741 824). If a
16 billion bytes disk is actually about 14.9 GB.

Of some note as the official international standard
    sets the 'G' of GB as 1 billion, not 1 073 741 824. Fix
Although they are, using the binary value of GB is so well-established
in the world of computing that I consider using the decimal value of a
g $ passing from the manufacturer.

  • Question about the class of a card SDHC for a Camileo H10

    Hello
I have recently purchase a Camileo H10 and I want to know what happened if I use a SDHC class 4 card.
He decrease the perfomance of the camcoder?

    Than you.

It depends on the video bandwidth.

    Class 4 = 4 MB/s minimum.

If the video stream is greater than 4 Mbps, there may be a performance issue.

  • What is the maximum value supported SD card speed, class

    Hello

I would like to know what the maximum taken in charge SD card support is class for a slot for SD cRIO-9031.

I need to enter a SDHC card to be purchased for use in this system. I need "Industrial" SD cards and the speed indication changes the price considerably. (Class 4 vs. Class10 UHS-1 the two 8 GB, the latter is 4 x times the price of the first appr.) EUR200)

Please provide me with the material specifications of the cRIO-9031 SD card slot (manual specification of '376261-02' States: ' removable SD (user-provided) up to 32 GB ")

    Hi André,.

CompactRIO-9031 supports the SD write speed of up to 10 MB/s and supports the standard SDHC cards. As a result, SDHC Class 10 cards speed must be supported. Please see page 4 of the manual from the link below:

    http://www.NI.com/PDF/manuals/376261a_02.PDF

However, there are many factors that can influence the observed flow rate as the compressibility of the data, write speed loop, write size etc. Please be aware of these factors when programming.

  • Why my T3i keep on recording when you use a card class 10 SD video?

With a speed class 10 SD card, my T3i will pull only photos, but stops in video.  I use 32 GB class 4 cards lately, just for photography.  The manual says to use a class 6 or higher card, SD when shooting video to reflect faithfully.  Does anyone have any suggestions on why its closing on me?  Thank you!

He meant a bad quality of the map, no camera brand. 8 ^)

Low level format you the card in the camera?

Have you tried a different brand of card? I had no problem with my T3i.

  • Problems with Fuze + and new 32 GB Sandisk microSD card class 4. CAVEAT!

I bought this card on Amazon.com and it was listed as a card MicroSDHC card SDSDQ - 032 G-A11M us retail package.

This was announced as a class 2 card, but the card is labeled as a class 4 card and it's true that the write speed of this card on average 3.8 MB/sec.

I have inserted in my rocket + and got the error that there is a file system error and to format the card in FAT32.  I formatted the card under Windows 7 times using a format formatting fast and Normal and tried to write on it and it works perfectly through the windows.

I even did a full load test using H2Testw and he filled out the card and checked the files and it passes, so the map seems to work as expected.  In windows, in MSC mode, it works without problem.

However, as soon as unplug you it from the computer the "rocket" does not recognize this.

At first I thought that I had a card that is counterfeit, but doing some research forum revealed that Sandisk has been quietly replace existing map of class 2 with class 4 cards.  That's fine, but something happened because this card can not be read by the Fuze +.

I have left a note with technical support and am about to do a live chat with the technicians there.  I hope they have a solution, or that the new firmware addresses this.

This isn't a problem with the hardware or the card.  The card goes up and works perfectly under Windows so that inserted in the Fuze +, this seems to be a problem with the firmware as it will not mount this card.  I hope that Sandisk is a fix soon.  But for now I'm stuck.  I have a card that I can't come back because it is not bad for a player who did not recognize.

Specifically, I bought the Sandisk card to go in my player Sansa because I thought they would have tested their own cards with their own products.  My disappointment is understandable.

Any help anyone has would be great.

Yes, they want to take a photo of the card and my phone is worse than mine.  I'll have to use camera for my daughter to get a good picture of the card.

As I said, it seems that the map is read and write correctly.  I have same h2testw.exe rand on and filled the card and it passes.

    Weird stuff.

    Will be.

  • Micro SD HC card, what class?

There are 3 different classes on the market: class 2, 4 and 6. (I know)

I bet that class 2 is enough for the clip +. But he says class 4, for the higher transfer speed?

Perhaps a class 4 would be a better choice in general so you can use the card with other devices, etc.

    What is your opinion?

For music, the speed of the card matters only in how long it takes to fill it. Class 2 and class 6 cards will do everything also as well for audio playback. A class 2 card can take up to 3 times longer to complete than a class 6 card, so if you often change the music, a class 2 card would not be the best choice. A class 4 card could take about half the time, that a class 2 card is complete. I generally avoid class 2 cards and purchase class 6 or class 4 cards.

Hi just brought the Tablet coming 8 Pro and the need to add a micro SD card.  Wondering if you can recommend if she need a regular class 4 card or if it is recommended to use the class 10?  Thank you.

A class 4 card will do, but you would be better served with a faster card class 10.

  • BlackBerry BOLD 9650 Smartphone - CARDS MICRO SD: highest CLASS # SPEC?

OK, I've looked. Could not find.

PLEASE, I DON'T WANT OF ABILITY. I understand that MAX is 32 GB Micro SD for the 9650.

What I want to know, is what is the top/most fastest Micro SD CLASS specification, supported by the 9650 currently & also if this will change with the new OS updates.

If I understand correctly, more the class specification, faster data transfer rates, faster performance related to mobile data card power. (The material & o/s of the unit must support this level, or 'CLASS' of M - SD card to take advantage of the benefits, although).

Basically, is the phone able to realize the benefits of performance (worth it for me to pay the extra $) of the use of CLASS 4, CLASS 6, micro SD CARD, or would it be a waste of $, given the capabilities of the phone?

(Here I just get a CLASS 2 CARD & do with it? Faster is better & I'm willing to pay for performance, I don't want to pay unnecessarily for performances in the Micro SD that the phone cannot be used.)

BB techies out there - please chime...

    -A noob-

OK, says that I have would...

I received my new 8 GB, class 6 MicroSD card. It's made by "TOPRAM," kind of a lesser known manufacturer - so I took a chance, but I'm glad I did. The price was less than 1/2 as major players in the business of memory, but so far, it seems that the only thing I have suffered from this decision is a somewhat heavier portfolio...

I moved my data and installed the new card. It is not an assessment scientific with number & stats & similar, but...

"Class 6" card is significantly faster (as the map of "class 2" he replaced "") for me the access data and transfer data functions, which, for me, enhances the user overall experience.

Two thumbs up for (class 6) specified maps, afaic.

  • Class 10 USB for coolpix 5600?

Hello... I tried the compatibility thread, but my camera has not been listed here (nikon coolpix 5600).  I bought a memory card class 10 (another brand), & my camera would not accept.  I wrote to nikon & they only list sandisk 256 MB, high-speed type of 10Mo as compatible, but I can't find it for sale anywhere... so thought I would try here to see if anyone knows of any other memory of sandisk class 10 cards that could adapt to my camera... Thank you, in advance, for any input you can offer... :-)

    Hello

If you have an official Nikon statement you can use up to 256 MB card then you must go with that and use one of these cards. Unfortunately these are ancient maps and I'm not sure if you still find some on sale.

  • Performance w / microSD class 2 vs 4 & 6

I wonder if the speed of the card makes a difference in playback of audio files. He could so have anyone of you tried a class 2 microSD in the slotMusic player?  Who worked smoothly, or actually play it better on higher speed card?

The qualification of class a card done refers to 'writing' to the card, not the 'reading' of him. This is important when you use the card in a digital camera and you're wanting to a super-fast recovery time to take another picture, but there are not relevant in the use of the card for playback and store music.

The only absolute difference (faster) card of upper class would be in the case this is loading it upward with files in the 1st place. It may take a few seconds less.

  • 16 GB class 10 microSD is worth?

my 8 gb micro sd which has a speed of 4mbps copy is full and thought to get new

is the 16 GB class 10 card is worth it or not?

With the apps to SD 2.2 capacity, a faster card would obviously be an advantage, but I'd doublt you would see a lot of improvement on a class 4 or 6 with the apps designed for a cell phone.

    If proven, it's your choice.
