  Contact the office of the United Kingdom again and ask them to check the s/n. Even if the product is not supported or compatible (Acrobat 9 is compatible only with Windows 7 since the versions that you mentioned, and even then there are 9.2 or later version), they should still be able to tell if your s/n is valid or not. If they refuse to work, ask to speak to a supervisor.

  Creative desktop cloud applications can be downloaded and installed on multiple computers. However, the activation is limited to two machines per individual related to the composition, and you may not use the software on these devices simultaneously.

  You have 2 allowances of use / connections / activations that may be active. If a computer breaks without being able to log out, you must contact the support so they can reset the counter.

  You can actually have installed creative cloud and on two computers, signed as long as you don't use it on one at a time. Download and install as you did on the first computer, sign in to your Adobe account on the Adobe using your Adobe ID website, download the desktop app from clouds, then download the software. Sign on a computer that should not be used: log in and log out of the desktop Adobe Creative Cloud application
