I have a problem with Windows Media Player on laptop Lenovo G780. My laptop is under warranty (bought a month ago), but technical support Lenovo told me that the Windows Media Player program is not covered by the warranty.
And this is a problem:
When I click on Windows Media Player - to about 0.1 sec I see it opens and closes the window and nothing happens.
When I select a mp3 or wmv file and right-click with the option open with Windows Media Player - I get a message: "Server execution failed" - I checked that all services with 'Media' in the name are running.
When I select a mp3 or wmv file and right-click with the open option with Windows Media Center - Windows Media Center opens with the message: "the files needed to display video are not installed or do not work properly.
When I select a file mp3 or wmv and right-click with option open with Windows Movie Maker life - see the video
I tried to turn / WMP and WMC - did not help
Tried to run as administrator - did not help
I don't see something suspicious under eventsWhat can I do else?
Thank you
Zarek
I had the same problem and then by chance, I tried a video on YouTube and it worked for me. Here's how I went on this issue and solved my problem:
1. go to the computer, then OS (C).2. you will need to open Program Files (x 86) and Program Files.3. go to Windows Media Player in Program Files (x 86) and open the folder. Then, remove the wmplayer file. You may need to work around the error TrustedInstaller. I'll tell you that, in a moment.4. in Program Files, go to the same folder for Windows Media Player and select the same file again. Wmplayer. Copy the file in another window open. Copy ensures that if the question comes up again you can at least try to fix it again. This should be the end of your problem. If you need to circumvent the TrustedInstaller question is how:1. right click on wmplayer and select Properties > Security > advanced > owner > Edit > other users and groups.2. Enter your username and then click on check names. Click OK.3. close the dialog boxes as he has requested.4. open again the properties and click Security. Select your username from the list and click on edit. From there, select full control. This should give you full control over the removal of the original file for WMP and easily allow you to copy the other files (x 86) programs. Please let me know how it goes for your problem. -

Hello
I recently haven't been able to burn a CD with Windows Media Player (he worked last week, but not now). I get an error message "Windows Media Player cannot find the file. The link between the library item and its digital media file associated with may be broken. "Try to fix the link or delete the item. There is a web help option which says that to fix a link, you click on the blue icon next to the item, then click "Browse this article. But the only icon I see is a little blue triangle next to individual songs in the library pane or list, there is no icon next to the name of the playlist. Although the click with the right button on the blue triangle gives me a few options, "Browse this point" is not one of them. Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong and how can I sort it please!

http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us?EntryPoint=lightbox
Method 2: Clean the disc
Clean the CD or the DVD. To do this, use a disc cleaning kit. Or gently wipe the silver side of the disc with a soft and Lint cotton cloth. Do not use cloth of paper which can scratch the plastic and leave streaks. When you clean the disc, wipe from the center of the disc outward. Do not use a circular motion. If the problem persists, clean the disc with a damp cloth or a commercial CD or DVD cleaning solution. Dry the disc thoroughly until you insert the disc in the drive.
Select a slower recording speed and check if that helps.
1. in the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the devices tab.
2. in devices, double-click the CD burner, and then click the recording tab.

Unable to read the .avi files with Windows Media Player 11 on XP
Original title: Media player upgrade was worse than basic
I recently updated my Player multimedia media Player 11 and now it won't play movies from AVI file that I used to be able to play easily on the outdated version. Why is this?Hello
Do you have an error message when you try to play with Media Player AVI files?
When you try to play a file that uses a codec that is not installed on your computer, Windows Media Player attempts to download the codec from a Microsoft server. If the
Codec is available, the Windows Media Player installed on your computer, and then bed file. However, if the codec is not available on the server (for example, because)
the codec not created by Microsoft), Windows Media Player displays a message that your computer is missing a codec. In some cases, the file you want to play uses a codec that is not available or compatible with Windows Media Player. When this happens, you may be unable to use Windows Media Player to play this particular .avi file.
You can consult this article for a solution:

Burn a CD with Windows Media Player
I tried to burn a cd with windows media player. I think that it is version 11. I put the songs I want to burn on the right side where it says to put them. I use a cd cd - r Phillips. He'll burn 3 or 4 songs, and then eject the disc. I tried several times and it does every time. Any advice on how to burn the entire list of songs. There are 15 I wanted to put it on disk. And it's an 80-minute drive, so there is a lot of time on them. I lost a few disk already so any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you
Rita
you have to 'turn off' the ' auto eject and auto burn / rip "feature for your cd device.
in this way the cd will stay "unburn" and can accept more files. later, when you have copied all the files on the cd, then you can manually run a ' burn / rip.
try to go to the menu bar of media player file. then, under Tools > options there should be a tab to customize the "rip" where you can change the ejection and extraction methods.
regarding as to why you seem to only be able to copy multiple files at the same time, it is probably due to low resources on your system. Maybe you are low on memory or disk space when you use the media player.
so, you could try to just use the Explorer to transfer files on the cd.
You can open the Explorer and then find the folder that contains your music / song files. then as with any file, you can drag and drop them on the cd or use other methods that you want to copy files from one place to the other.
also, most computer come with specialized software that is designed for your device to computer and cd model. This software will be has features to copy files to the cd, and will also have the necessary controls to fine-tune the device cd and windows to play and the extraction of files.
Finally, it has been my experience that about five years of cd home-made, even if you buy the best cd for recording as those made with layers of gold and those with false promises that they last forever...
Unlike the cd music that we buy at the store, the method that we have with the computer is not industrial strength and something happens to the layers inside the House made conference that degrade over time. I have studied this issue carefully and I just to let you know about the phenomena. (I almost lost some one of a kind songs where the group no longer exists or their albums. I actually have the only copies of these songs in particular in the world)
in any case, certainly keep copies of your music on the hard disk. You can also store copies of your music on the site of skydrive from microsoft for free.
