User named databases Oracle license question

Oracle database Standard Edition ONE licensing has this requirement:

Maximum of server socket 2
Minimum of 5 user licenses.

How we named user licenses calculated these 5?

(1) should be based on how many computers connect to the database?

(2) can we have app installed on 7 computers, but at the same time as 5 client computers will be connected to the database?

(3) are these user name and floating licenses?

Srini thank you and EdStevens for more information provided me in detail. I just want to use for learning purposes only.

My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate(64-bit). I visited the page developer license and so Oracle 11 GR 2 database page, I'm going with 11 GR 2 10 gr 2 is not available/unsupported.

As a little confused on the editions, please I want to know that something Oracle Database 11g Release 2 (11.2.0.1.0) contains Standard and Enterprise Edition and Oracle Express Edition; This means that I can install any edition which is free for learning.

Really, I appreciate and also thank you for your time and effort.

Citing once again, the download page:

+ All software downloads are free, and most come with a developer license which allows you to use full versions of the products without charge while developing and prototyping your applications, or strictly self-educational purposes.* +.

Perhaps the part of the sentence "and * more * come with a developer license" (underlining) leaves some questions that some products may not be covered. I don't know what would these products but I've never seen someone ask the commodity database.

Regarding editing, you... once again, it's what you want to achieve. If you want to learn sql/plsql from the point of view of the developer, one of them will do. If you want to learn from a DBA perspective, you want to the Enterprise edition.

  • Database Oracle OATS question

    Hi guys,.

I work with Oracle OpenScript to generate the Script Application Siebel. For many reasons, I choose in BTA Bank of data to use for an incoming test.

Is it possible to define in BTA camps sources (CSV file) which matches the database alias defined in OpenScript, and used to map the name of user and password for example? Thanks to this, I might be able to run subsets of SEEN on different data sets (but still using the same Script)

Hope you understand my question :)

    Thank you

    Anthony

    Anthony

You cannot add data in BTA only banks in OpenScript.

You can get the same thing by using the following techniques:

    (1) - have X many different scripts, you can just do a backup as in a manuscript to clone, and then change the database.
    (2) - have a different database file that you manually change.
    (3) - select the file database in Code view.

And finally, you can select a range of values to use in BTA, so you could use a database file and set the first 100 users to have a different role that the second series of 100 users. You can then select range he in BTA just click the database icon in the view of scenario in BTA.

  • Decommissioning of enterprise database Oracle 11 g in Standard Oracle 11 g with respect to licensing?

    Hello

I was wondering if we can get off our 11g EE licenses licenses SE g 11, considering has focused on making licenses and provided RAC (Real Application Cluster) free option for clusters with up to 4 outlets.

This question is purely in terms of licensing of database Oracle.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    T

Yes that's the problem in EE rac is an additional option instead of CARS data use guardto DR solution.SE and EE are two different products and I know licenses are not exchangeable

  • How the user named work permit?

I have a few questions about the named user (I guess Oracle call 'named user Plus' now) license:

Multiple databases on the same host_

Let's say I have a server database running Enterprise Edition.

On this, I had the PROD1 and PROD2, PROD3 databases.

I have 100 users for each database.

So what I do then buy 300 licenses NUP? In other words, the NUP license does not follow the database? Or I need 100?

_ NUP licenses in a CCR environment

Let's say I have two servers, NODE1 and NODE2. There is a shared database via PAP, with one instance on each server. I have 100 users of this database.

So, I need 100 licenses NUP? Or 200 because there are two instances (NODE1 and NODE2)?

    Thank you!

In enterprise edition, named user licenses are independent of databases running on the server. If it is a single server to 100 in your case. If you use CARS on two nodes multiply by 2, which will be 200. Remember that you must have a minimum of 25 more than named user licenses per processor. for example, the machine has 4 processor then 25 X 4 = 100 named user licenses are the minimum. In the case of RAC node1 = 4 processor and node2 = Intel Pentium 4 processor (4 + 4 = 8 * 25 = 200 named user licenses).

  • an oem12c officer - many users of databases/operating system

The title is perhaps not clear enough, but let me explain.

I just installed new 12 c v12.1.0.5 on Linux x 64 OEM. Next step is to install the agent on client computers (Linux distributions as well) software. The point is that I can install only one customer per host. Most of the guests in my company HAVS two or three OH and all OH stands for the different operating system user. So if I install agent using the user 'A', I see only the user targets. I can not install another agent using the user B or C.

All Tips how to handle this problem?

Make the agent OS user member of the groups of operating system OS users who own the homes of the Oracle in question. This is to allow the user to read agent files as database alerts log files. In addition, the user agent must be able to read and write to the directories of the Oracle inventory.

    Kind regards

  • Mac Mail showing a plugin in/Users/USER/location when there is no user named USER account

Thanks in advance for your comments. I'm hopelessly confused and I was afraid that my infected machine.

I tried running Mac Mail a couple of times and it stopped on me. Then the third time it closes that I received an error message that a plugin has caused the problem. The path of the Plugin is listed as /Users/USER/Library/Mail/*/HockeySDK.framework/Versions/A/HockeySDK and the Plugin identifier is net.hockeyapp.sdk.mac.

I searched using terminal, finder and the console for a user named 'USER' on my mac account. I see users root are my user name.

I understand that it is possible to hide a user account, but have you tried the commands that should display all hidden user accounts and they have not revealed a user named USER account. To be clear, I have tried all the standard ways in the terminal to find a user account and cannot.

Is someone can you please tell me if my Mac is infected with some hidden user account? Here are some of the comments of the 'details and System Configuration problem' as the form of question will allow me to answer:

    Process: Mail [2868] path: /Applications/Mail.app/Contents/MacOS/Mail ID: com.apple.mail Version: 9.3 (3124) build Info: Mail-3124000000000000 ~ 2 Type of Code: X 86-64 (Native) Parent process:? [1] background: mail [2868] User ID: 501

Path of the PlugIn: /Users/USER/Library/Mail/*/HockeySDK.framework/Versions/A/HockeySDK PlugIn identifier: net.hockeyapp.sdk.mac PlugIn Version: 3.2.0 (31)

    Date/time: 2016-08-03 18:58:26.538-0400 OS Version: Mac OS X 10.11.6 (15 G 31) report Version: 11 anonymous UUID: 35332606-E9A7-BB5D-0E7D-811AAD4B38E8

Found the same thing via a report of incidents for mail:

    Path of the PlugIn: /Users/USER/Library/Mail/*/HockeySDK.framework/Versions/A/HockeySDK

The identifier for the PlugIn: net.hockeyapp.sdk.mac

    PlugIn version: 3.2.0 (31)

It seems to be a related e-mail folder.

In my case, I get this report due to a persistent fall whenever I click on the "Get new mail" icon in the mail.

I wonder if someone answers this question could enlighten us as well.

    Thank you.

  • Modeler cannot export the DDL for databases Oracle (only work for DB2 databases).

    Hello

First of all, I'm sorry for my English, I'm French.

I'm new with Oracle tools. I have my database with the DataModeler deisgned.

Before that I've got my schema versioning I could export the schema to DDL Server Oracle 12.

But since I have version control with Subversion I can only export to DB2 databases (screenshot follows):

    Exporting to Oracle databases?

    Thank you.

Well, unzip to the new directory doesn't mean a new facility because it is the same version and DM will use existing preferences - you must remove the directory with the preferences. For DM 4.0.2.840 this directory on my Win7 is:

    C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Oracle SQL Developer data Modeler\system4.0.2.840

After starting DM you must check "System Data Type Directory" "preferences > Data Modeler" - it should be empty or point to the directory with valid files - defaultRDBMSSites.xml and types.xml.

Posted the picture shows that these files are correct or not existing in the directory defined in your preferences

  • Can a machine Linux cause more than 1 database Oracle

    Hello

I have Redhat 5.3 with Oracle 10 g installed on it. However, I would like to install Oracle 12 c on it. My question is, is - it possible that one machine has 2 Oracle databases. There is enough space on the machine. If it's possible, so what are the possible impacts or potential problem in this facility. In addition, I install Oracle 12 c for the first time. Can someone share confirmed steps of installation on Redhat 5.3, directly from scratch?

    Thank you in advance!

I have Redhat 5.3 with Oracle 10 g installed on it. However, I would like to install Oracle 12 c on it. My question is, is - it possible that one machine has 2 Oracle databases.

Said that the only limit to the number of versions of databases Oracle are your material resources (RAM, disks, CPUs,...), Redhat 5.3 is not certified for Oracle 12 c, the minimum is of version 5.6. See the Oracle database preinstallation tasks

  • Could not access code to the user VP1 database!

    Hi all

people tools: 8.53 - windows 7, my only local

PeopleSoft application: HRMS 9.2 version - oracle linux OS

database Oracle 11 g - oracle linux OS

When I start the application domain server for HSM application using psadmin, its starts do not

When I look for appserv newspapers, I got this error

    Password has expired

could not sign in the database with user vp1

I can't able to connect to the database and able to connect to the SYSADM schema also

so I tried manually updated the password operpswd in sysadm.psoprdefn table VP1 and updated. committed.

and he tried to connect to the database using Data Mover to encrypt the password on my local machine, says tns could not find the specified id

but I can able to ping Linux database, tnsping works, and I can't able to establish a session database from my local to the linux server.

Still cannot start the HRMS application domain in linux server

    kindly help.

    Kind regards.

Please change the password for SYSADM and PEOPLE from the side Oracle, and you probably want to also change the profile of these users to their unlimited password life.

Read the post I linked to the previous post for more details.
