User profile & settings

Not sure what on BOARD to select here. It's on my profile on the FORUM. Next to my AVATAR (upper-left) is what I guess, that's my nickname. I don't remember initially by selecting any Avatar or nickname if the username is one that I use. I just tried slecting a new Avatar, and it worked. However, under the nickname is the word "guardian". It is a complete mystery to me - where did you it comes and how do I get rid of him? While I'm at it, I have an "Avatar". I checked my settings for any instance of "Guardian" or my nickname and don't see them.

Can anyone help?

Hello

Do not have an avatar to be defined.

The designation "Guardian" below your see your username is part of the HP rating system used on the forum - see the overview on the following link.

  • saved in the user profile settings

    Hello

    I use Photoshop CS6 and all SW settings, such as color settings or Panel actions, are saved in the user profile. Does anyone know if it is possible to specify another path for these settings, that would be out of the user profile? I won't go into details, but it's something that we need in our society where multiple users must have the same parameters when using a particular computer.

    Hi christianloup,

    Please see FAQ: how to migrate my presets saved a previous version of Photoshop or import/export the?

    Impossible to save preferences for Photoshop or the files required on a Server.So create presets that are common to all users and then configure Photoshop after you migrate Presets. See Presets in Photoshop CS6 Migration "Julieanne Kost's Blog .

  • Rendering of the portlets based on user profile settings

    I need to load some portlets based on an external parameter such as company A company B v. It is a property available in the profile of the user after login - and not populated in an event.

    What is the right way to initialize this setting and make the portlets appear/disappear based on this property?

    I think I need to use the initialization in the portlet parameter - but do not know how to pass the value on the page JSPx - do I need a backing bean?

    Part 2 - I need also to ensure that, in the catalogue of resources for portlets, users can only see and choose the portlets to their business.
    What should be coding for this need?

    First of all, what version you use. These days you have to indicate the car.4 version is available, it is quiet different. I assume you are using 11.1.1.3

    (1) you can easily display portlet based on such a constraint. The only way I thought is to use a language of expression in the rendering of the portlet parameter. In this way, you can put something like this:
    rendered = "#{UserProfile.Company = 'company'} '"
    You must put this on every portlet, this cannot be done since the portlet.xml or inside the producer. These transmissions must be set in the portal.

    (2) you can use a filter of catalogue of resources. It is a simple java class that extends from CatalogDefinitionFilter
    You must implement a single method: includeInCatalog (CatalogElement catalogElement, Hashtable hashtable)
    This need to return a Boolean value. The catalogElement gives details of the active element. When you add a filter to a catalogue of resources, each item in the catalogue of resources will call this method and the item will be shown in the RC when the method returns true.

    More about the CatalogDefinitionFilter here:

  • If I have two PCs used by my family, one user profile can be applied to more than one PC, followed by the cumulative on both computers use if the user has access and time restrictions?

    I wish that the user profile settings to apply to both Windows 8 computers.  Thus, if a sign of user in a PC for 2 hours and their allotted time has been used for the day, I want to assure that they are unable to connect to the other PC without asking for more time.  The same applies to time restricted access, Web sites, etc... Is this possible without two separate profiles, one on each PC?

    Hello

    Unfortunately, it is not possible to use a single user on multiple PC profile, but you can have the same set of parental controls for different user accounts.

    Multiple user accounts can have the same family safety settings.

    For information on how to set up parental control and more information about the safe keeping of children using the parental control, you can check the links below.

    You have the user configured for the persistent pool data disk? This feature was developed for this purpose.

  • Issue of user profile after infection of files and F12 security settings change

    Attempt to clean after infection with scans and fixes - then issues log. Could only connect in Safe Mode and safe w/network Mode.

    Went to security and user created password, F12 which required logon with password preload.  Then continued and authorized by going to the same place and pressing the ENTER key.  Still load my user profile. My hard drive has been set up, divide a c drive and d years by anyone in CA transferred my old to my new computer while I was paralyzed. This person is now military overseas and is not accessible. My software CD is stored at the CA 2000 miles away, including all my programs.  I would like to solve this problem since the new computer software and travel is unaffordable right now.

    I'm fully recovered but climbing off hole $. Now: Does not load my profile.  After erasing the password user F12, always my profile would not, is then returned and even reset all default settings security F12 and then when it does not reset all default settings in F12. Now I can load with the default profile in safe mode and mode safe mode with networking, but when I try to add a user, I'm not able to open Manage them other accounts to add a user.  I don't have another computer to make a copy of the registry.  Any ideas?  Just, I moved to a new city for a job and no network have not yet.

    Since you are able to boot into safe mode with network, download and run a full system scan with:

  • Windows 8 - not able to access 'Change PC settings'; Unable to create a user profile. Store/Start menu does not work.

    Hello

    Recently, I'm stuck with these issues:

    1. not able to access 'Change PC settings' - when I click on it nothing happens.

    2 start menu/Store does not work - I am using the profile of the user admin Start Menu is a blank blue screen with just the user name appears at the top right. Store is completely scratched too.

    While the guest user has all the tiles in Start menu/store.

    3. cannot create a user profile - I wanted to try to create a new user profile and check if the store is working properly. When I click on 'Add a new user in the laptop settings' nothing happens.

    I tried the system restore, but it does not solve all of the above. Is there any solution to these problems without having to reinstall Win 8? I don't have the installation discs.

    TIA!

    You can use the restore or refresh options without going in the settings of the PC.  Read the instructions carefully, it says:

    If you can't identify, or use laptop settings app, you can access these rather safe mode options. On the login screen, click on the power icon, and then hold down the SHIFT key on the keyboard while you click on restart. Now keep update until the next screen appears.

  • Move user profile my account to new LDAP settings

    Hello

    I have two related questions about authentication LDAP with OBIEE,

    1. If we change the LDAP server in LDAP1 FMW-> LDAP2 dose (MSAD OID example) GUID will change?
    2. If the GUID gets change how to move user profiles, my account settings?

    Thank you!

    Hello

    The idea of GUID is to link the user with its objects and when you refresh them, the user gets a new GUID number and its objects, even a new so it should have access to all of its current objects.

  • Crashes Firefox attempts to access the windows user profiles (maybe)

    After several relocations and other attempts based on comments found in the various positions in the solutions, I'm still stuck here. Firefox installs and works ok with high permissions (run as administrator), but crashes frequently then run normally. In normal mode it still crashes when opening the 'options' dialog box on: page preferences and when you download a file. It sometimes crashes when browsing. No high mode installation happens to 90 percent and crashes, elevated installation works very well. An explanation would be that firefox doesn't have access to C:\users\ < profile >------... at the level he needs, but I was not able to find out why. IE seems to work very well, and I reset the default security settings in IE. The signing of the accident say nothing useful about the reason. I adjusted all the firewall and down the ladder. Everything worked until I got other problems requiring aggressive edits and now all but firefox works. Basic navigation in firefox is ok, and work the plugins like flash and acrobat. So I was stuck on this for about a week, limping and try things. I don't know if it's firefox specific or something systemic, but it would be good to know what is the problem, so I have an idea how to solve this problem. Any ideas would be really appreciated. Thank you.

    So my next move was to create a new user account. The new user has been able to use Firefox normally. Several other problems existed with the original, but not as bad as Firefox user account. In any case, with user created a new account and the old one deleted, it seems once again things are finally normal. My guess is that some elements in the account data has been deleted, by something or someone, and Firefox to access, but did not check the possibility he wasn't there.

  • Where Firefox temporarily store user.js settings when the file is deleted after a first run?

    Hello

    Try to deploy user settings in our area via user.js, I do not want to be forced inside the GUI. So I save a user.js file temporarily in the user profile, launch Firefox now and then delete the file again. Now, all the settings have become part of Firefox' settings but I can't find them in the prefs.js or user.js. Now my question is: where Firefox stores this information? Is there a SQlite DB be somewhat different in the registry? In fact, I don't want to get rid of my script isn't that kind of lack of fault tolerance and complicated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Simon

    No worries - this isn't your Setup, it's always a problem get it right first time...

    Let's start it is super simple - put this in the file local - settings.js in/defaults/pref:

    pref("general.config.obscure_value", 0);
    pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");

    and then in mozilla.cfg which must go in the same folder as following firefox.exe (these files should probably be ANSI encoded this way):

    //
    lockPref("lis.a.a", 2);

    doesn't this show preferably upwards in all: config subsequently, when you launch the browser?

  • Cannot access my safe after the migration of user profile

    Hello everyone, welcome to Australia

    I have a user who migrated their user profile from windows to the field of our profile by using the small business server 2003 to connect Computer Wizard. This wizard have not migrated users or My content Safe fingerprints.
    After connection to the old account and attempts to access my safe with password backup, user could not open it.

    Is it possible for the user to access the content in the folder of the safe MYy that these documents are very important. (Take the user to back up only not ;)))

    Hmmm maybe it's not possible to access the MySafe because the laptop is a part of the domain of s.
    I guess that the laptop was not included in the field when the user has used and saved the files in my safe.
    So maybe you could try to reverse the settings and then you might try to enter the folder MySafe.

    As I see that you posted this in the title of the product recovery Toshiba category that your action has nothing to do with the installation of Toshiba Recovery and, for me, it's unwanted Microsoft.

    To be honest, I did not understand what exactly happens, but somehow, I feel everything is messed up.
    My advice: if possible to backup all your important data and do the clean install of image recovery.
    After that what you do will have factory settings and clean OS preinstalled, so you will be able to use your laptop with no problems.

  • cannot get past error - could not connect the user profile service

    My HP desktop computer has windows 7 - I can't get past - error message "user profile service failed to connect ' & 'impossible to load the user profile'!"  By clicking on the ICON that displays windows closes and repeats the error message read... a new user account must be defined the user upwards and copy the previous settings account - but I can't get there.

    Hello

    You can try the following.

    Shut down the PC.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.

    Another option if the above does not help is as follows.

    Shut down the PC.  Tap away at f8 that you start the laptop to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.
