    Hi, I just need knowa bit on the RDS CALs. We are currenlty in the deployment of a VDI solution and using APP - V 4.6 as our main method for applications, however, we also have a XenApp 6.5. Farm attached to our system and we want to use Citrix streaming along side APP - V until we can finally migrate to APP - V version 5. If we are streaming apps directly at the VDI client session, instead of on the XenApp server and then the client should we Cal RDS for direct broadcasting of applications. See you soon

  • Licenses

    I have a question about the Microsoft licenses for a network that I plan for the company that I work:
    * Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter edition
    for our users work stations will be thin clients running ChromeOS)
    Our users will use the client to access their virtual machines (VDI) running windows OS.

    We already have a license for the server operating system, but we are not sure 100% of the necessary licenses for the computers of users and connections.
    I understand that we have to buy for each user:
    * A CAL RDS to access the machine VDI
    * A license of operating system for the Windows operating system that is installed on the machine VDI

    Except for the licenses of applications, are there other licenses that we have to buy in order to allow users to connect to their virtual machines?

    Thank you very much

  • Open License MS requests approval of countries (Malaysia & China) _Urgent

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    Relates to the above questions,
    We would like to know some answer to the question as below
    1. MS Win Remote Desktop (RDS) CAL is free in China, if the Chinese user wants to connect to the server of the Malaysia, are they required to purchase the RDS CAL?
    2. For the affiliation form, if the subsidiary purchase all licenses, including licenses for server HQ (but this own subsidiary only 40% of shares of central administration), are that they still eligible affiliate their licenses at HQ?
    3. In addition, for the license transfer process, if the company has a license agreement had transferred to company B, then after a few years they would like to transfer to the C company again once (these 3 companies in the same group). This kind of procedure is allowed? and their follow-up licenses MS Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) is updated?

  • Qustions on server licenses

    Hi, I'm new administrator COMPUTER within our company and I prepare a deployment plan update for the company's servers.

    I'm planning to get 1 x SBS 2011 + SBS 2011 Premium add-on 1 x + 2 x Server 2008 R2 Standard.
    My company uses SBS 2011 as Exchange and AD server. We get bonus add on for SQL server that is used to store data in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, which is on 3 Server on the secondary server (Server 2008 R2). Fourt server will be used as satellite Server (to run AD RODC + File server).

    Our SBS 2011 server have 40 users (shared files + exchange), Microsoft NAV is used via TS by 20 users and branch, we will have about 10 users.

    How many user / device CAL do I need for all facilities? Can I need separate CALs for all servers, or I just need CAL to the main server (SBS, 2011 which will be held in AD DS)?

    Thanks a lot for all the replies.

  • Primary attributes of AD account synchronization with orchestration

    Hi all

    Here's what could be another newbie question.

    I spin IOM 11.2.2.0 with EBS as connector trust and AD as a target.

    For some reason any for a number of users, currently unknown, orchestration does not seem to have worked and the work that is supposed to retry failed orchestrations has no apparent effect. For example, we have an event handler that is supposed to assign an office and the region on the basis of the unit in which a user is located, but for some users, the devices have not been resolved.

    Or worse, for some users, these attributes are correctly defined in the identity of the IOM, but are not defined in the ad, so apparently orchestration has failed or has not happened. Retry failed orchestrations again has no effect.

    So is there a way I can force synchronization? I thought about studying the orc table to see if I can start the orchestration by creating 'failed' type records there, but that doesn't seem the kind of thing that oracle is recommended. So is it possible to do official synchronization forced for a given user - IE the orchestration on each attribute of each target connected?

    Thanks in advance!

    -Mark

    So I found a way to do this. And I also understand why it was happening.

    Basically some users had had changes to their data before the AD account has been linked. So naturally the changes had not been provisioned.

    However, it is really easy to solve. First, I wrote a query to search for users,

    -- Users needing End Date syncrhonization
    select usr_login, usr.USR_END_DATE, ad.UD_ADUSER_EXPIRATIONDATE
    from usr
      join oiu on oiu.usr_key = usr.usr_key
        and oiu.ACCOUNT_TYPE = 'primary'
      join ud_aduser ad on oiu.orc_key = ad.orc_key
    where usr.usr_end_date != ad.UD_ADUSER_EXPIRATIONDATE
    and usr.usr_status != 'Deleted'
    order by usr_end_date desc
    ;

    Then, I wrote this API code.

     public void processCSV() {
            UserManager userService = oimClient.getService(UserManager.class);
            Calendar cal = GregorianCalendar.getInstance();
            try {
                CSVReader reader = new CSVReader(new FileReader(filename));
                String [] line;
                reader.readNext();
                while ((line = reader.readNext()) != null) {
                    if (line.length == 0 ) {
                        return;
                    }
                    String oimLogin = line[0];
                    System.out.println("OIM Username: " + oimLogin);
                    User user = this.getUserByLogin(oimLogin);
                    if (user == null) continue;
                    System.out.println(user.toString());
                    System.out.println(user.getLogin());
                    if (dryrun) continue;
                    User updates = new User(user.getEntityId());
                    cal.setTime(user.getEndDate());
                    cal.add(GregorianCalendar.DATE, 1);
                    updates.setEndDate(cal.getTime());
                    userService.modify(updates);
                    updates.setEndDate(user.getEndDate());
                    userService.modify(updates);
                }
            } catch (Exception e) {
                e.printStackTrace();
            }
        }

    The trick is to change to something else - in this case, I moved it one day - and then put this back.

    All event handlers function and data are supplied to AD.

  • RDS per device CAL

    According to https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/en%C2%ADus/library/cc732416 ' a permanent RDS per Device CAL issued by a license server is configured automatically expire after a random period between 52 and 89 days, date at which the RDS per device CAL returns to the pool of RDS available by user on the license server licenses. Station Remote Desktop connection is then broken. In my environment of industrial work, we prefer / expect the connection continues permanently. How to configure the program does not expire?
