Using BJT as a switch of negative voltage

Hello

I use a NI USB 6009 to order a pump which requires + 12V to a terminal and - 12V to the other. My plan was to use a BJT to switch the pump on and off each clamp trigger voltage. In this circuit when the voltage data acquisition is high, the output is low and when the data acquisition voltage is low, the output is high(+12V).

My question is how to reproduce this switch for - 12V? Thank you

Two questions:

1. the USB-6009 case has an internal pull-up resistance of 4700 ohms to + 5 V. When power is first applied to the device (before any software has run), all digital lines will be at 5 V. Thus, it is best to put the external circuit so that + 5 V to V2 (output USB-6009) made the engine off and 0 V starts the engine.  If the +/-12V power supply can be on while the computer/hub USB is disabled, you must be sure that the motor will not work under this condition.

2. unless the engine power is very low, it is better to switch the power on the + 12 V and bus V-12 rather than on the ground. Switching shunt is not effective power and relies on transistors switching kept on any time, the engine must be stopped. It is often more difficult to conceive BJT circuits that are always on that always off.

I think that this configuration can work.  I haven't checked this background for all possible modes.  V2 = + 5 V Q1 leads and all other transistors are disabled. V2 = 0 v Q1 is turned off and the other lead.

  • Digital FPGA of entry of the negative voltage

What is the maximum negative tension that the digital input on the FPGA can take without damaging it? I tried to look in the data sheet for the sRio 9636 and I can't.

    Thank you

    Hi, Berthe.

The sbRIO-9636 was DIO only on the OID (J502) and connectors MIO (J503). It's a bit different from the other variants sbRIO-96xx that others may have a RMC connector that has additional DIO.

Connectors IDC 50 pin DIO and MIO are 3.3V pins, but they are 5V tolerant inputs we have protection on the IDC DIO connector. VIL values and HIV are specified in the data sheet:

    http://www.NI.com/PDF/manuals/373378d.PDF

These are the recommended conditions of use. If you need to know the maximum negative voltage to determine if your landing short of the runway is acceptable, this number to an absolute minimum is - 500 mV. I would recommend you choose the appropriate to your driver series termination resistors to minimize landing short of the runway, however. The absolute minimum even applies to the 3.3V RMC DIO as well.

    Hello

You will be able to use the watch in Europe.

There is no regional differences in the hardware and the software can be configured to your chosen region. The supplied USB power adapter will have to pine trees located in the United States. A travel adapter will allow you to connect it to the European outlets.

Alternatively, you can buy an Apple USB power adapter that is located in your country of destination / country.

I have the Menu bar on.
I use alt + f to open the file menu, and so on for all the menus
Even this command only works for all tabs except the first.

  • What equipment I need another for the purposes of the on/off switch, adapt output voltage/current using labview program

This is my first time to use labview, I want to use the program to control the DC power for the start/stop it or set the output to program automatically.

Now I had the (supply) instrument, got a computer with labview. I know that I have to buy a GPIB cable, making a connection between the instrument and the computer. But I do not know what to buy? Cable GPIB or GPIB controller. Confused.

    Thank you

A GPIB cable, by itself, will do nothing. You need a GPIB controller connected to your pc. With the NI USB-GPIB-HS controller, you can connect directly to a single instrument and no need for a separate cable. If you go with an internal controller to a pc (i.e. PCIe), you need a cable to connect the controller to the instrument.

You can also check if the power supply has other options such as Ethernet or USB remote control.

  • Can I use horizontal scroll to switch between tabs?

I find it useful to switch between tabs with the side-scrolling my mouse wheel. Can I configure Firefox in this way?

Apparently FireGestures doesn't support scrolling directly if you can't make it work. I have no local way to test it, because nobody doesn't know I have a mouse with a horizontal scrolling. FireGestures provides alternatives (I use the tab scrolling of line), however, and supports scripts , if you want to try to use the technical information provided by cor - el.

One avenue would be to use the mouse like Logitech Setpoint or Microsoft Intellipoint software to set the scrolling to run the FF Ctrl + PgUp and Ctrl + PgDown hotkey combo. This would negate native scroll, however.

You can leave your comments at https://input.mozilla.org/en-GB/feedback/ if you do not want to see this feature implemented. I think you're better of trying to get an add-on to do this though, as horizontal scrolling appears to remain a characteristic very niche.

  • Can we average channel error using multiple channels to measure the same voltage?

I don't know how correlated error terms are between measuring channels max, but it occurred to me that, if they were relatively independent, I might be able to sample the signal even with several channels and increase accuracy.

For example, rather than measure a voltage with an AI only at 100 kHz, I could connect up to 10 different lines to HAVE the signal, sample to 10 kHz on each line.  This should allow to reach me on average some of the error associated with each channel (, or so I think).

Can someone speak definitively to this?

    Thank you

    Sean

Well, if you are using a MULTIPLEXED Board (everything is not specced for simultaneous sampling) then each channel is connected to the ADC even one after the other, best that you would be able to do is extremely, extremely small variations into the paths of each channel of the multiplexer.  This would still be massively overshadowed by the inherent noise from the system and the accuracy of the device.

Your best bets to reduce the measurement error is to oversample in one way to reduce the effects of noise and to calibrate the unit before starting each test to keep variations of temperature.  In addition, make sure you keep your calibrated Board (most of the boards have a calibration 1 year of the cycle).

For some applications, you should also consult wiring field and considerations of noise for analog signals, How to eliminate ghosting of my measurements? and Troubleshooting unexpected tensions, floating or crosstalk on Analog Input Channels to better account for ghosting and the issues of the hour.

    Please help me!

    Hello

Please post on the Forums OR!

How do you have your battery connected? Do you use polarization resistors? This could be a grounding problem and can be fixed if the polarization resistors are used. See table 1 in this document , and the differential configuration for a floating source.

  • Venue Pro 8: use the charger with a little more voltage and current?

I just bought a Dell came Pro 8 tablet used running Windows 8.1. The seller didn't have the original charger, so he gave me a 12W of Apple loader that had taken out nominal 5.2V and 2. 4A

Is it okay to use this charger for my Tablet? Any potential problems in the long term?

    Thank you!

I'm sure that the voltage is OK to 99.9%.  The extent of the current note goes, which is often misunderstood.  The rated current for a charger power or power is the maximum that the charger/power is able to provide. It could be evaluated to a zillion amps, but the equipment to which it will draw only what it requires.

  • use robocopy with the switch /MIR safe?

    Hello

I use Robocopy to copy my phone book c:\users\username on a second hard drive (D :). No problem. But I also want the mirror of this second hard drive on a third drive hard (e). I have been using the /MIR copy/mirror hard drive D: E: switch.
We know that /MIR deletes several files from the disk of destination files (e: in this case) if they no longer exist on the source (d) drive.

But I recently saw somewhere on the internet, there are certain risks that /MIR can also remove some of the source files in certain circumstances. Scary!
Here is the exact quote (unfortunately I did not record the site it comes.)

Use /MIR with caution - it has the ability to delete a file from the source and destination, under certain conditions.

This happens usually if a file/folder in the destination has been removed, causing ROBOCOPY to mirror the source to the destination. As a result, the same files in the source folder are also deleted. To avoid this situation, never to delete all the files/folders on the destination - remove from the source and then run the backup to mirror the destination to the source.

If in doubt, do not use the MIR, but be aware that backups will take more time.

So I wonder if it's true and/or tailored to my needs.  The explanation above don't make much sense to me. For the moment, I have abandoned the /MIR switch and am just using the Robocopy command to copy the second HD in the third.

Thanks much for the thoughts or advice or links.

    Jack

The /MIR switch is NOT a two-way synchronization.  Right of the Microsoft documentation, it tells you/MIR/e + / purge.  It does not remove the source files.  The /MOV option removes the files from the source because you move them from the source to the destination.

The /mir option is equivalent to /e plus/purge with a small difference options in behavior:

    • With the /e plus/purge option, if the destination directory already exists, the destination directory security settings are not replaced.
    • With the /mir option, if the destination directory already exists, the security settings for destination directory are replaced.
