  You can use the fixed size option and enter the size in the input fields using the unit of measure of your choice; That is to say in, px, cm etc.

  If you right click in the entry boxes there are the list of measured values.

  Hmm.  You did something for the audio in the selection?  It looks not to the file has been modified at all, and the registration option is not enabled, unless a change has occurred.  I suppose you try to remove or reduce the volume of the sound inside the selection rectangle, is that correct?  With this selection, you can press DELETE to remove it completely, or set the volume floating just above the selection of lower button.

  In the toolbar, you can set a specific size in pixels or whatever.

  Or, you can do a right click on the selection and choose transform selection.

  I positioned guides on the image for purposes of measurement.  I have the snap-to Guides on. I used the ruler tool snap a guide and I extended a straight line to the other guide (the SHIFT key down). The ruler tool read 712 pixels.

  Then I used the marquee tool to align the guides and it read x 720 pixels.

  Where?  In the Info Panel?  If Yes, have you read the W (width) and not the X (horizontal pixel position)?

  Are you sure that you have the marquee selection tool and not the shape tool? The marquee is way up in the Toolbox with the shape tool. It's the dotted rectangle bit and when you click on it, if you hold down the mouse, or if you right-click, you will get the option for the elliptical marquee.

Using the selector to improve the contour and by replacing the value 0 (or any other value) makes no difference and in fact after this and clicking OK, the warning screens.

  Is this a bug with the elliptical selection tool? I've updated Photoshop just before submitting this question, and the behavior is unchanged.

  There are different possibilities to solve this situation. Try one of the following options;

  • Decrease the radius of softening of the selection tools,
  • Increase the size of the selection
  • Increase the size of the image (this may decrease the quality of your image),.
  • Ignore the warning message and keep going to work on your file (remember that your selection is still there).
  • Also, make sure that you selected and the targeting of the correct layer.

  You may prefer to set the feather to zero in on the selection tools and use the pen (Ctrl + Alt + D) command for each specific selection. Using the feather command does not change the parameter of smoothing (zero value) on selection tool, so you don't need to wory on previous selections feather RADIUS.

• PS Elements 13 - do not select marquee tool

  Have recently updated to 13 PSE and don't know if I used the marquee from the upgrade tool.  Any effort to select with the marquee tool cause no selection.  It's almost as if the tool does not know the left mouse button is pressed (have tested the left button of the mouse with several other applications, no problems and works of left button of the mouse to other PES functions).  Also tested to ensure that it is not a case of drawing selection lines simply do not - I have try a selection then copy/paste and I always get a dough in the center of the layer.  Tried to reset and reboot PSE without change preferences.

  Hoping someone has seen this before and has any suggestions on what I can try.

  Try to reset the tool. There should be a box with lines on this subject on the options bar of the tool on the right. Click on this to reset.
