Using GUI to truncate - wrong table 09.87 - bug 3.2.20.09 build HAND-

Here's what I run into with this version of SQL developer. I can repeat this question every time with these steps.

Connections, open a connection, tables in the list.

Right-click on the table, select the privileges - Grant. Select the user ID, the actions and apply. (you do not need to take these steps, simply go through the motions)
At this point, it doesn't matter if I stay in this connection or select another connection.

Select another table by clicking on it so that it opens a new tab.
Select Actions - Table - truncated.

At this point you can expect the pop-up to display the table as you try to make a decision on, you are presented with the final table that you took measures to privilege on what is. This will open even a connection closed for these measures.

So, if you don't pay attention, you're about to truncate the table hard!

I am also able to repeat this with 3.1.07.42 where you are presented with the final table passed you by the movements of the privileges. (you don't have to take action.

Again, will be recorded as a bug.

Work around this problem, use the context menu in the tree view to access the dialog box Truncate.

    You must run a command DDL by NDS. If you wrap it in a PL/SQL block and use NDS to run it, it should work.

    BEGIN
    EXECUTE IMMEDIATE "DDL STATEMENT";
    END;

    DDL is not allowed directly within PL/SQL procedures.

    You must (ab) use EXECUTE IMMEDIATE issuing the DDL

    You cannot use FLASHBACK to recover the data unless you use GR 11, 2 and that you have prepared (using TOTAL RECALL) for this in advance.

  • Index rebuild required after truncate the table and load data

    Hello

    I have a situation that we truncate tables bit and then we loaded data [only content] on these tables. What you need to rebuild the index online is necessary or not?

    And another question is if we drop a few clues is the total amount of space is released or not. And re-create indexes will use the same amount of space. As I don't have disk space more? In this situation, rebuild the index online will be a better idea...

    Can you please on this...

    truncate the table some the few loading tables + reconstruction markings online is the best (or) droping little tables, a few tables loading + re-create the index is better

    Can you suggest the best way... We have a time that it currently we don't have enough space on the disk... [Option should not effect the space]

    space used is the same for all options.

  • Query about claiming space after a drop/truncate a table

    Hi all

    Greetings.

    I'm on oracle 10G and OS Sparc.

    I was looking for information on how to claim the space after drop / truncate a table.

    A.) I checked on the net but I can't test (not available db Dev), I'm looking for your suggestion:
    1. drop table tablename purge;
    2. drop table tablename;
    3. truncate table tablename reuse storage;   --> drop table tablename;
    One of above will reclaim space?
    B.)
    Also , I have to purge the sys.aud$ table since its getting filled. Will doing truncate table sys.aud$ release the used tablespace ?

  • Time necessary to truncate the table

  • use the data in the table

    Hi guys,.

    I think that this will be very easy. I 1 table which values from 2 groups. And after that, I will need to re - use the values in the table regardless. I will need to return the values in column 1, then in the 2nd column, etc.. How do I do that?

    Thank you.

    Hi THN.

    I don't see the problem. You can fill the clusters. The table will be updated. You can change the table and with the button 'Get' element, you get a picture of the first and the second element.

    In this version, the result of the GET fills a 2d array with all your values. Now you can use the function 'index array' to get the values you need.

    If the problem I encounter is here for loading data in the link table that I check if DHCP is present in the subntwk table, then continue to another mistake of the newspaper. If CMTS then left create link to another error in the newspaper.

    Now that we can here multiple CMTS are associated with unique DHCP.

    So here in the table links to create the link, but for the last iteration of the loop, where I get separated by commas separate CMTS table stg_link_data it gives me log as not found CMTS.

    for example

    DHCP-1-1-1. WNLB-CMTS-01-1,WNLB-CMTS-02-2

    Here, I guess to link the dhcp-1-1-1 with balancing-CMTS-01-1 and wnlb-CMTS-02-2

    Theses all the data present in the subntwk table, but still it gives me journal wnlb-CMTS-02-2 could not be FOUND, but we have already loaded into the subntwk table.

    same thing is happening with all the CMTS table stg_link_data who are in the last (I think here you got what I'm trying to explain).

    But when I run the SQL scripts in the SQL Developer separately then it inserts all valid links in the table of links.

    Here, she should create 9 lines in the table of links, whereas now he creates only 5 rows.

    I use COMMIT in my script also but it only does not help me.

    I felt later in the night that during the loading in the staging table using UNIX machine he created the new line for each line. That is why the last CMTS is not found, for this I use the UNIX 2 BACK conversion and it starts to work perfectly.

    It was the dos2unix error!

    Thank you all for your interest and I may learn new things, as I have almost 10 months of experience in (PLSQL, SQL)

  • Data export of the Disqualification to the table in step should not truncate the table.

    Hello friends,

    Please find blow my requirement and do the necessary.

    We export data cleaned to staging tables, whenever we export data, Disqualification truncates the table and inserts the new data sets into this table.

    My requirement is instead of truncating the table before inserting the data in it, Disqualification must add these records, should not truncate the table.

    Please let me know how to configure this in OEDQ, your help is appreciated.

    Thank you, Prasad

    Could not be easier. Double-click the task to export in your work and change the mode append.

  • Please how can I use a value in a table of the adf in an actionListener to a button I created in a popup and thanks

    Please how can I use a value in a table of the adf in an actionListener to a button I created in a popup and thanks

    What is your version of JDev?

    Actually your question is not clear to me, but as I understand, it is you the table in the page and you have popup inside this popup you have the button you need when you click on the button to read the value of the selected table row. In the listener action button, so if you can get the current row of the table and after that you can get any attribute of the line as:

    DCIteratorBinding iter = (DCIteratorBinding) BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry().get("TableIteratorName"); // from pageDef.
    Row r = iter.getCurrentRow();
    Object value1 = r.getAttribute("attribute1");
    Object value2 = r.getAttribute("attribute2");

  • using comprehensive index instead of table scan

    Hi friends
    I no what columns of the table: identity, name, address, mobile_number
    identity primary key, name and surname index is

    my query
    select * from person where (:id is null or identity = :id)
    and (:name is null or name= :name)
    and (:surname is null or surname= :surname)
    I write the query as it because sometimes the user send only non-null value, name and surname null id, sometimes name not null name and id is null... etc.
    My problem: (: id is null or identity =: id) == > because of or select clause do not use indexes and a full table scan.

    Try this one: -.
    Select * from person where
    Identity = NVL(:ID,Identity)
    and name = nvl(:name,name)
    and surname = nvl(:surname,surname);
