Using Pathfinder w / envelope distort

How can I convert a distorted image of the envelope in a shape or image that will allow me to use the pathfinder tool. I am wanting to place an image on time and run 'less before.' On the right is what I'm trying to accomplish on the left, but it is not allowing me with envelope distort the image. Thank you!!

C,

You can only select both and use the transparency palette (launcher) option a with Clip opacity mask and mask Invert unchecked.

  • Apply a clipping mask for an item that's envelope distort?

I'm creating a logo for a uni project.

I created my logo in black and white, is simply a word that I have envelope deformed in a circle.

I now want to apply a clipping mask to give it a gold leaf effect, it works when I do normal typed text but not in my text that had been published.

Can someone tell me if it is possible to create a clipping with gold leaf mask, when I distorted the text already?

When I apply the envelope distort after the clipping mask, it does not give me the same results...

    k,

You can object > envelope distort > Expand, then use it as the clipping to the clipping mask.

  • Make with Warp envelope distort the question

    Hi Gang!

So I have this simple text that I want to deform using the envelope Distort-make with Warp-Rise style. All right, it looks good:

    envelope-distort.jpg

The problem is that when I want to do a version (mirrored) in front of him, the text appears opposite. There is also no opposite of style mounted in deformation options

Curious about how you would solve this.

    Thank you very much!

the opposite of the rise is a negative value in folding of string options. so if your elbow for the first 50% is the opposite would be-50%

  • Form loses color when I use Pathfinder > Exclude to cut a hole

I'm just following some instructions on how to cut a hole in a circle transparent, so that the bottom is visible through the hole with the help of Illustrator (CS5).

This is my starting point. All backgrounds are disassociated from the individual objects, and all are a circle colored with a small white circle on top.

    Screen Shot 2016-09-26 at 16.00.20.png

I then selects the white circle (the circle centre is white smaller circles on top one more large colorful circle) and the underlying green circle thus:

    Screen Shot 2016-09-26 at 16.00.36.png

I then use the Pathfinder tool and exclude according to the instructions, but it happens:

    Screen Shot 2016-09-26 at 16.00.42.png

Any ideas why the color disappeared rather than leave a green hoop with no way?

If I do this on a clean game of darts, by creating a large green circle, then a small white on top and then Pathfinder / Exclude, it works fine. The green circle now has a hole.

    Thanks in advance.

I discovered the solution of messing around with the tools of Pathfinder and has decided to leave this place in case someone else has the problem.

Rather than use Pathfinder > exclude following the instructions, I used Pathfinder > less prominent.  This example uses the foreground object (if you have selected more than one object (i.e. two circles bunk in my example) like a strawberry and leaves behind a transparent hole.)

The circles are now contours (I know I could have created circles thick contours in the first place, but I inherited file .ai Adobe Stock and therefore had to work with what I had).

    Hope this helps others.

  • Using Pathfinder to add lines to a letter?

I added straight lines on a letter (see picture attached). It's the way I want it to look, but I want to understand how to use Pathfinder or another tool to add lines in the letter. How this is done?

You could use a transparency mask and keep the direct text.

  • How can I use the Brush tool to merge an envelope distort > Warp > Pavilion Rectangle with a normal rectangle?

    Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 9.40.55 AM.png

I want to make two rectangles in a single form, so I can add a swatch or degraded her.

When I use the form generator tool it does not record the rectangle distorted envelope option available.

I also tried to merge in the pathfinder and who does not work either.

Select the Warped object and choose object > break down.

Then use the Pathfinder or Shapebuilder.

  • vertical lines in envelope distort

It is a single solid path of a crowd, and I used a linear gradient on this subject. distortion of the envelope makes these weird vertical lines. any way to remove them? Thank you

    Screen Shot 2016-01-27 at 10.45.26 AM.png

I don't know exactly what you mean, but I thought about it.

I just had to use a separate object - in my case just a rectangle - with the gradient applied with a blending mode multiply over the shape of the audience and used an envelope deformation on these two objects. slows down a bit, but it seems OK.

Thanks to the efforts of all

  • How to manage the envelope distortion and other effects

I work for a printer that produces a lot of labels litho (no adhesive, who called because of the next step) for corrugated cardboard. We ship leaves printed on box companys that will stick on the cardboard corrugated and then cut in the style of the specified area.

The majority of the work we get is created with Illustrator, which we prefer due to the large size product and need to modify the work. A final dieline should be placed in the work and the bleeding usually need extending and mitreing at different areas of the dieline original artist is usually not aware of.

Enough background and on the problem. When there are effects such as distortion of the envelope in the work, it is completely safe for all select and break down the side? The reason I ask this is that without expanding, the effects change as on the following example which was shot.

    Picture 1.jpg

This one was obvious, but there are others who are more difficult to see. We recently printed a 26 "x 54" leaf had an envelope warp distort effect change when it is turned. Even with large full proof, we don't notice, and our client the box company he did not notice. Only the end customer saw after that product has been delivered to them.

So I wonder how others deal with the problem. You develop appearace of everything? Or require the original artist to do? Do you have a policy to never run work? Any taxation done later in the workflow in PDF or EPS files trapped?

    Any contribution will be useful.

The answer to your question is that it is safe to develop and then you might want to flatten transparency as well.

What are the settings for after all.

A word of caution should check to see that you have no whites to overprint. Unless they are part of a pixelation effect, you can uncheck this option in the attribute Panel.

Normally, it is not a problem. Just good to check.

  • Is there a way to remove the segment lines from a polar grid (filled using livepaint) without join them using pathfinder (which makes it a pain should future changes it will take)?

I use the polar grid tool to do the graphics in 'ring', but we need to develop and then join segments of same color using the pathfinder before using them in PDF files and images (and not printed, which is fine) to avoid the original grid lines are visible. Is there a way to avoid these lines which display without doing this, because if a change is made then to the table, it's a pain to redo once the segments were joined?

Example below - the yellow area has not been reached; others have.

    Example.jpg

I'm so sorry. Should not publish before the first coffee.

It is a problem of anti-aliasing.

What you can do when you export raster formats:

    -Do not extend the vectorization.

-When optimized for 'work' antialiasing method defined export type not "optimized".

If this does not work: try and apply the pixelation effect and set the resolution on everything that you need to export.

  • Unite objects using pathfinder but keep individual appearances

    logo capture.PNG

Hello useful people of the adobe forums.  I have two objects above, the "n" and the lines.  They are the two transparent traces which have an innershadow applied through several traces in the appearance Panel.  I want to merge them into a single object, but when I do that they share the same appearance.  The lines are too small to have the same size as the 'n' internal shadow.  Any ideas?

    Willy,

If I (put) understand well now, you can do this with several mixes in a number of steps, starting with the outer forms, without the features added, described as if you started on:

    (1) create the lines and forms of letter as closed paths.

    (2) select all and Pathfinder > unit, then the color game to the darker color on the edge;

    (3) object > path > offset by a negative value less than half of the width of the lines, then set the color to lighter color in the middle of lines;

    ((4) copy the path of 3), then lock the traces of origin of 2) and 3), then get rid of the thin line parts so that you get a track closed in each form of the letter; You can cut where the parts of the thin end line (and remove thoes) and use the tool remove Anchor Points to remove these unnecessary Anchor Points for the regular shape;

    ((5) object > path > offset by the same amount 3) or another amount suoitable and set the color to the pale color of the forms of letters;

    (6) object > blend > blend Options, the value specified as follows a high enough number;

(4 Select 7)) and 5) in each form of the letter and object > blend > make.

    (8) release, and then select the paths and the original object > blend > make.

That should give you a smooth look at your leisure.

    This is a simplified picture:

  • After the installation of Yosemite 10.10.1, I can't use the tool to distort the free. Anyone else having this problem?

I can click on the tool, but I can't catch the corners in the preview window and manipulate them. Anyone else having this problem, & have a solution?

    Jesse,

I'm afraid that have met you the Rectangle Live bug that is limited to the MAC versions from 10.7 and 10.8, but not of 10.9 (Mavericks) or 10.10 (Yosemite). If all goes well, the bug will be fixed soon.

Thus, a switch for the Mavericks or Yosemite with a reinstall might be the way to solve it here and now.

To get around it, in each case, it is possible to develop direct Rectangles to get the normal old shaped rectangles or Pathfinder > unit, or use the scale tool or the free transform tool.

A more permanent way round that is to create normal old shaped rectangles, after running the free script created by Pawel, see this thread with download link:

  • Excessive points of envelope distortion

Is there a way to get the effects of distortion of the envelope and avoid all the points that it adds to the paths once you're done distort and make a path > Expand?

    warp.PNG

The number of points that you get after developing an envelope depends on settings of loyalty in distortion of envelope options. Loyalty = 100 does produce the highest amount of points.

Experiment with the settings of fidelity. Often a value of 75 or even something about 60 should be just and significantly reduces the number of points after having developed the envelope object.

  • Can I get lines painted in Illustrator using pathfinder?

    Hello world

It is a question of a total novice with Illustrator but I was googling like crazy without result, so any help would be appreciated!

I'm experimenting with creating seamless models, using forms. I know how to crop shapes by using the pathfinder tool.

I can do this by placing the different shapes on a square. I then glue a square of the same size in front of all objects, select all then and use the crop to scout tool.

However if I try to use it with painted lines (or lines created with the online tool or the pen tool) it will not work.

Is there a way to do it, or am I missing something very obvious? Thank you to everyone who takes the time to answer

You must not cut the objects you put into a shade of reason. Simply put an invisible rectangle in the back. But in case you want to cut, first expand appearance.

  • Using Pathfinder

I have a black circle and a dotted path of white...  I want to erase the white Dotted path so that it becomes Transparent... does not work for me!

    Lorie,

As I (put) understand it, you can select dashed paths, or group of tracks dotted and the circle, and then in the transparency palette flyout click the with unchecked Clip opacity mask and mask Invert checked.

Opacity masks are all appearance, so you can use the points in such a way or live Type or whatever (vector) in white in the same way on the top of all (even); they should be grouped with several paths (top) or turned into a compound path (but the latter is more complicated).

  • Using pathfinder to cut a shape of several lines

    Hello

There is probably a really easy answer to this, but I'm not. I created a model space "scratches" by using several lines aligned and equal remote etc, I then placed a form of rectangle on top of these lines and to extract the rectangle of the lines so that I'm only left with the pattern of scratches in the area of the rectangle. Hope that makes sense, could not think of a better way to describe!

    Thank you

I'm not sure that understand what you're trying to do, i.e. the need to use the Scout at all. What group the traits and resize or make a compound path? Or even by selecting copy/cut, then 'paste' in the new frame?

You try to use it as a filling for a frame that is containsomething else? If so, you might want to build a gradient instead.
