Using TCP on the second ethernet interface

Hello

I use a PXI 8109 Pharlap module running.

I try to use the second my PXI ethernet interface to send UDP and TCP packets. The main interface is used to manage channels Veristand.

Here is the configuration of my two ethernet interfaces:

-eth0 (primary):

IP: 10.0.0.3

subnet mask: 255.0.0.0

-eth1:

IP: 192.168.10.9

subnet mask: 255.255.255.0

For UDP, I have no problem, the packets are sent to the second interface as I want to. I think it works because there is an entry "network address" on the "Open UDP" VI so that the system can choose the right interface.

For TCP, I use the VI "to open a TCP connection" but there is not that kind of entry. And it does not work: I suppose that the system tries to use the main interface, but it can route packets...

For more information, my two networks is physically independent.

Can you help me find out what is happening? Is it possible to use the TCP protocol on the second ethernet interface?

Thank you very much

Kind regards

Laurent

  • Using the second ethernet port to connect to the printer?

Hi I have a Mac Pro 2.1 old school and I'm wondering if I can connect to the network with an ethernet port and connect the latter to a printer?

    If so, how?

    Yosemite running.

    Thank you

Physically, you use a port and a cable to connect to your network and use the second port and a second cable to connect directly to the printer. The printer must obviously have an interface Ethernet himself.

However, you need to configure the second port on the Mac and the Ethernet port on the printer for each manually configured the TCP/IP addresses and these should be in a range of different network to your main network.

If you the main network is something like 192.168.1.1 then your printer and the port on the Mac connection to this need to be in another network, such as 192.168.11.1.

In theory, if the printer supports Hello aka. mDNS, then maybe you can get away with not having to configure TCP/IP addresses for the connection.

The main reasons to use a second separate connection as this would be the performance or security, and frankly I don't think that's really relevant here. This would mean that no other computers on your network will be able to access the printer.

  • Difference between the series & ethernet interface.

    Hello world

I have some doubts in basic foods.

Q1: What are the differences between the interface series and interfaces ethernet.

Q2: Can we use ethernet interfaces to put an end to a WAN connectivity like series. Why always we use interfaces series to connect the Wan.

Please help me by answering these questions.

    !!!! THANKS IN ADVANCE!

    Hello

Fast Ethernet card is one of the option for a higher speed T1/E1, other TDM options that can be offered are DS-3 and STM1 that can be offered on infra nominal basis as well. For example, you can subscribe for 10 MB BW on 45 MB access.

The answer to your second question, is that there could be a possibility that you have subscribed for VPN (EVPL or VPLS) L2 or L3 VPN (MPLS).

Woks of L2 VPN on labels VLAN and L3 VPN termiantes on a device of L3.

  • RA VPN doesn't work is not on the second external interface

I've temporarily came from two Internet service providers in our ASA 5510.  Which works very well.  I tried to configure the VPN to our second outside interface (outside-XO) and who does not.  The first/original VPN works great.  Can someone look at the config and tell me if I did something wrong.  It is not a customer number, because it is able to connect fine on the first interface.  Thank you.

    Hello

    Should work.

What I think is the routes:

    Route outside 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 *. * 1.229.193
    Route outside-XO 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 *. * 2.157.65

If the first interface is ok, the ASA does not go to route packets via the second interface, so VPN will be not through this interface.

On the client, can you PING the two IPs outside of ASA or only the first?

Try to add a static route on the SAA to secondary education outside interface pointing to the address of the customer and try to connect via VPN and see if it works.

    Orders:

    HS cry isa his

    HS cry ips its

Will be a big help as well, when the VPN connection attempt failed.

    Federico.

  • additional NIC connected to the second router interface does not have IP

Hi I have an esxi5 running on the hp with two physical NICs micro server that is visible on esxi as vmnic0 and vmnic1. Initially, I was working with vmnic0 as a main network as the interface of management and also VM NIC that is connected to my internet. No problem here. Now, I plugged the second card which is represented as vmnic1 to another router in my house that has its own separate subnet by wire of physics. This second router has its own Dhcp and set up correctly as I connect my mobile phone and tablet that and gets its ip DHCP server. However vmnic1 receives not all IP address. Here is the configuration:

Phys. netcard vmnic0 192.168.1.254 (obtained from internet router ip) no problems, related to the management network vSwitch0

Phys. netcard vmnic1? any IP connected to separate vSwitch2, physical network is connected to the router with DHCP with the range 10.0.1.2 10.0.1.1 - 10.0.1.100

To debug effort, I imported vmnic1 in the virtual machine running on that ESXi and static ip address assigned 10.0.1.101, whereas it falls in the same subnet as the second router and tried to ping router (10.0.1.1) however got "destination unreachable". Obviously ping can't the second router.

So my question is why? Can anyone help on this?

I put below the esxi Network Setup:

    Thank you!

I just pointed it arbitrarily when I created vSwitch2, does not interfere the vSwitch0. 2nd router lacks any setting of vlan.  Should not do and leave the vlan by default? Thank you

  • PSC 1804 stops when the second PC connected to the second ethernet card

    Hello

Having a problem with two PCs and a PSC 1804.

I currently have a PSC 1804 connected to a PC running a VI, childless.

I updated the VI with a series of shared variables that I need to read and answer from another PC about 20 feet away.

I wanted to connect the two PCs via a crossover ethernet cable, but when it is connected, the CFP crashes (as seen in MAX and the crash of VI).

Both PCs and PCP are on separate static IP, but most likely the same subnet. This will cause the crash? How can I correct this problem and continue to use shared variables?

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    LV 2013 Pro

    Hi, ASAT,.

You should be able to use a router or a switch to a situation like this.  What system hosts shared variables?  This system will be accessible to all systems on the network of communication success.  How do you connect all currently?  I recommend the use of a switch to connect all on the same network, then all systems need access to shared variables.  The host computer should not have a problem with several networks, but in this case, he has trouble with communication, by disabling the system-wide network is recommended.  Let us know how things are running.

  • Using WRT54G as the second wireless with E2500

Have read the threads on this, I want to make sure I have this correct.

Currently I use the E2500 as my main router at my house (top).  I replaced my WRT54G with the E2500 to my DSL connection throughout the House.

I run an ethernet as a hard link at the bottom of my smart TV cable.

I now add another device (Channel Master DVR +) that it will also take an internet connection.

I need two connections from an ethernet cable (already run down).  After reading a bit, looks like I can use my old WRT54G as a secondary router/switch down.  (Sorry if I'm not using the correct terms).

In order to get my two connections (Smart TV and DVR +) I need at least a separator, or something?  However... "Why not extend my lower wireless for a stronger wireless connection down?" was my way of thinking.

How can I configure my E2500 to recognize the WRT54G - run two difficult connections to my TV and DVR + and also extend a stronger signal wireless downstairs for my daughters iPod Touch?

    Thanks - Glen

Who did the trick! You Rock! Thank you so much cub for your help and quick of Reid. I may be back later this week when my DVR + gets here but hope not. Thanks again!

  • Question about using Lightroom for the second time.

I used Lightroom 1 when it came out but stopped using it for a period of time. I deleted all preferences and the app. All photo in Lightroom folders were also deleted after that I moved the images. I had to reinstall Mac OS x, so I cleaned my HD and reinstalled. So I had a clean slate.

In any case, I reinstalled Lightroom 1 so I could buy the upgrade of LR 2. Then I installed 2 LR. But what I don't understand is... my nameplate, preferences and other little things that I had set up in Lightroom 1 returned when I open Lightroom 2. Does anyone know how this is even possible, given what I mentioned above? No matter what help understand this would be greatly appreciated because I want to have a completely fresh start. Thank you.

As well as preferences, look in Application Support / Adobe/Lightroom.

  • CMS OVA, adding the second NETWORK card breaks the first NETWORK card

I'm testing CMS 2.0 and when I try to add a second NETWORK card in VMware, he immediately interrupts the first network card.  As soon as the loading of the image, the first NIC fails.  Even if I disable iface b, it will allow all traffic where iface one.  If I stop the application, remove the NETWORK adapter and run it back again, it works very well to the iface one.

I want to test the public face with box feature, but I can't if I can't add a second network card.

How do you add the second network interface and interface you add?

You should add 'VMXNET3' type if you use VMWare, if you chose something else, you invalidate your license, see section 3.3 of the virtualized CMS 2.0 Setup Guide for deployments.

If you need assistance, you must move this thread to the section of telepresence of forums, where this device is actively discussed.  You can change your question and change the categories at the bottom of the page.

  • Disappears on the screen during the research on the modern user interface

Original title: questions on screen keyboard

I have a problem of access to keyboard on screen when using specific features of Windows 8. The problem only occurs with my desktop PC, I also have a Surface Pro 3 without any problems. The problem is that whenever I search for something, either in the charms on the right shortcut window drag the keyboard screen on just disappears and cannot be reopened until I have cancel the search. Same thing in fashion Metro/modern, while searching for an app. However the problem does not seem to influence the research done in desktop mode in the my PC popup.

The Office I mainly use as a media center device for watching videos in different rooms when the office is physically. I can still use a physical keyboard to use searches, but sometimes my keyboard is not right next to me, while my mouse is always next to my hand. I found it faster to just short-circuit the keyboard input with the keyboard screen on when I browse the web. I know that the function should work because I do it all the time with my surface. Even with my keyboard attached to the surface, if I folded it with the kickstand on the back of the keyboard or just manually, click on the button of keyboard on screen with the keyboard typing normal position I can always get the screen keyboard works without any problem. I checked also with just my regular Asus laptop and who has the same problem as the office. This isn't really a problem with the laptop even if, as it is a standard design where the keyboard is not move or come off. Anyone has any ideas, it could be the cause? Thanks in advance to anyone who responds

    Hi Will,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

    • Using the screen keyboard or touch screen?

There are two types of virtual keyboards on Windows 8, on-screen keyboard and touchpad. You may experience this problem if you are using a touchscreen keyboard on the task bar. We have checked this on our computer of Windows 8 and its default value of design.

If you use the screen keyboard and the keyboard should not disappear if you use it in the modern user interface. Please confirm what virtual keyboard you use to help you also.

You can read this article and check if it helps:

  • Use the second airport only ethernet

Here's what I want to do:

I have 2 extremes of the airport. One on the second floor, connected to a modem. And the other on the first floor. I want the second Airport extreme on the first floor to connect to the Internet via the first airport extreme but only use its ethernet Sockets and turn off its own wifi. Which means the only way to use this airport for you to connect to the Internet is to use its Ethernet port. Is this possible?

Possible if the first floor AirPort Extreme connects to the AirPort Extreme with a permanent floor, wired Ethernet cable.

Is not possible if you want that the first floor AirPort Extreme to connect to the second floor AirPort wireless.

  • using tcp replacement reset interface

Hi I'm new to cisco ips. can someone tell me pls the function to use the alternative interface for tcp reset.

I have 2 interfaces for IP addresses. a command and control and other interface is an interface in promiscious mode.

without this command the ID can send some tcp resets. or because it uses a different interface for tcp resets.

    can someone tell me pls.

    concerning

    Assane

Under most of the facilities the tcp replacement reset interface is not necessary.

By default the ports TCP resets will come back on the same interface where the attack was detected.

So if your interface promiscuity is connected to a 100 Mbps for tracking hub then the tcp reset will be sent back this same interface promiscuitee in the hub.

Or if your interface promiscuity is connected to the span switch port, the tcp reset will be sent back the same interface of promiscuity in that span port.

The question becomes is the sensor can send reset tcp, but if the switch will accept them. Various switches will accept from the span port tcp resets. Some switches require only an extra parameter on the extended configuration to tell the switch to allow incoming packets to the span port.

BUT there are some switches that do NOT allow incoming packets of their span ports.

These ituations are the reason for the replacement tcp reset the configuration of the interface.

Need 2 remote sensing interfaces (one for surveillance of promiscuity and the used the other as just replacing tcp reset interface). The port command and control NOT allow as the other tcp reset interface.

Connect to the interface promiscuity to the scope of the switch port. You configure the second interface as the alternate tcp reset interface of the first interface of promiscuity. Then plug the second interface on the switch of the saem (but do not have the 2nd one a span port).

Now, when the sensor detects an attack on interface 1 it will NOT send tcp resets the interface 1, but rather will send the reset tcp on the 2nd interface.

Given that the switch does not accept that the tcp resets since the span port you need of the second interface for tcp resets in the switch.

It is also possible with taps where the taps (because the taps have no way to accept incoming packets).

The alternative tcp reset interface configuration is ignored when it is configured for online tracking. It is used only with supervision of promiscuity.

  • Satellite P50t-B01E - BD Player does not play using the second screen

Using PC mode "extend", dragging player across the second screen causes reader Toshiba BR disable playback of the disc. The drive interface moves on, but the game is not possible.

Other media and the information can be consulted. Connecting via HDMI.

    Thanks in advance.

I guess you will be able to use the player Blu-switching the video output for external monitor without the use of the extended mode.

    Could you confirm this?
