Using the drive to 100% with Windows 8

I just bought a new sony vaio with windows 8 and my task manager accused of being a 100% for the disk drive.

The sum of all processes are less than 10%, but the use of the disc tha remains high 100%.

My sony vaio is really slow because of this problem.

I would like to know the process to solve this problem.

Thank you

  • Is it possible to use the Satellite P200D - 11L with Windows XP

I want to buy this model from Toshiba (P200D - 11L). Is it possible to run it with Windows XP? Because I'm not interested in Windows Vista now... thx

Of course, it is possible to use the XP on this laptop.
But the question is; All the XP drivers are available for this series of satellites P?

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and, unfortunately, I didn't find the XP drivers for the series Sat P200D currently

Well, as far as I remember the XOP drivers were unavailable for the A200 series too. But after a few days/weeks Toshiba comes to present all the XP drivers.
I guess that this series is brand new on the market and it may need to wait a bit until all the XP drivers will be available.

Please do not get out of patience ;)

  • Is no longer possible to write on the drive CD - RW with Windows XP SP3. Could write to the drive of CD-ROM under Windows XP SP1. How can I find a cd - rw disk write access?

My Dell Dimension 8250 with XP was initially equipped with Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.2.0.91 which enabled me to write on the CD drive (NEC CD - RW NR-9100). Later found out that the installation of Service Packs (2 or 3) disabled this feature. In an attempt to burn a CD will result in cancellation error during the writing process. Running MS Fixit tells me that my records are incapable of burning. I tried to uninstall Roxio Easy CD Creator via the Control Panel Add/Remove Harware/software and then reinstalled Easy CD Creator. Upon restart, this caused re-installing my computer immediately close with a blue screen message that the problem was caused by the fault of the file Cdr4_xp.sys (Driver_unloaded_without_cancelling_pending_operations). Then, I restored to a previous/y configuration work and uninstalled the Easy CD Creator. I can still read CD, simply, I can't burn. My question is, what can be done to restore this ability of burning CD or what kind of options are available for me to find this feature?

Note: Reading other forums (Roxio and others), I find that Roxio Easy CD Creator does not work with Windows XP. The upgrade to another operating system is not an option that I need XP for other devices that are not compatible with Vista and a later version of the Windows operating system.

I hope that you may be able to help.

Sorry, I wanted to write in my notation at the end, was that Service Pack 1 of Windows XP works with Roxio Easy CD creator that came with the machine. However, after later SP, writing ability fails. That is what I had read in the forums, and what seems to me be a.

This isn't a correct information.  At least, Roxio Easy CD Creator v. 5.3.2.35a works fine on my XP Pro sp3 machine.

Of course, this information didn't you all good... and at this point, after running a FixIt, uninstall, reinstall, do a system restore, and everything you have done, I have particularly good advice to get the CD Creator to work for you.

If you want to try something (with a small chance to make matters worse - assuming that you can now get the CD player to burn using integrated Windows - see the article cited by Shenan Stanley), here you go...

Download Easy CD Creater 5.3.5: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cd_dvd/burning/easy_cd_creator_plt_upgrade.cfm this download, however, is an upgrade, and I don't know if it will install after uninstalling the version 5.2.0.  Assuming that you can not install this update in your current...

What you could try - and no guarantees here - is to download the trial version of Revo Uninstaller Pro and run it in progressively more aggressive modes, until you get to the mode "forced uninstall" to ensure that all traces of your previous installation of Roxio is gone.

After you have uninstalled all traces of the Roxio program, run system restore to create a restore (just in case) and then open the Device Manager (start > run > devmgmt.msc > OK), right click on your CD drive and select uninstall.  Restart Windows should detect the CD drive and install the default Windows drivers.

Then, reinstall your current install media Roxio and finally install the 5.3 update.

As an alternative to the last step - especially if you're hesitant to download software from the site of AfterDawn (I don't know anything on them, one way or the other), you can buy a full version (but open box) of Easy CD Creator 5 Platinum for around $11 or 6 Platinum for $7

  • HP Pavilion g6 has a problem with the driver (s) interfering with Windows mode 'sleep'

    Hello all;

I have a HP Pavilion g6 (about 4 years) gave me when my daughter bought a new. I had problems with it being slow to start and slow to close (a couple of times that it has initialized to me on the Web). I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit SP1. Today, I ran a check on my system in advanced tools, I got this message: "Drivers interfere with Windows out of sleep mode" and this one: "a device driver for a device on your computer is cause of performance degradation. I checked the logs and he suggested I have uninstall these drivers, there are two listed, but they are the same driver. I don't know what to do here. Here are the details that were given:

    ID: 351

Name: Several vendors AMD Miniport driver

    Publisher: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.

Feature: AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250

    Date reported: Monday, July 9, 2012 22:20

    Setting time: 1.9 seconds

Next on the list is EXACTLY the same, except, reported Date: Thursday, June 20, 2013 22:32

    Setting time: 1.8 seconds

The driver (s) is/is up-to-date. I'm so confused at this point. I think that I need this driver, but that does not mean I have two? Can someone enlighten me? These icons next to them warning, I would try to solve this problem before that I have to keep the PC doctor. Thanks to you all.

Graphics card drivers are needed for the sleep mode feature. Based on the parameters of the driver, the availability of the mode 'sleep' is decided in Windows. Try reinstalling the drivers, then check: uninstall the drivers, reboot the PC, install the drivers, reboot the PC and then check. If this also fails to solve the problem, try to use a lower version of the drivers, by uninstalling the current version of drivers, restart the PC, install the lower version drivers, reboot the PC and then check.

Please note that the beta versions are not stable, test rlease only. Beta version of the drivers will always have the latest version, but it's not recommended to use the drivers because it is still in development/testing.

Hello. I got my Acer Aspire 5517 laptop for my birthday a few years ago (with Vista pre-installed). A genuine OEM product key is located at the bottom of the laptop. How can I use it with a new installation? Or can I somehow get an ISO or CD OEM Microsoft's file, or download it online somehow? Please don't tell me to upgrade to Windows 7, as I don't have hundreds of dollars to spend right now. Thank you!

  • Can I use the CD that came with my Palm Z22 to install on my new computer Windows 8 2005?

I'm upgrading from a Dell XP machine on a computer Dell Windows 8.  My old Palm Z22 driver installation CD will work to load the software into my new Windows 8 machine; or do I need to download a new software specifically for Windows 8?

After losing almost three frustrating weekends, I finally got my Z22 to synchronize with Windows 8.  You never answered my first question [can I use the CD that came with my Palm Z22 to install on my new computer Windows 8 2005?], that would have eliminated a lot of uncertainty in my many attempts to synchronize with the download of version 6.2 has recommended you.  Fortunately, I wasn't the original CD with version 4.2, because 6.2 has toured with a bit more clear instructions and a new download of http://www.palmdr.com/windows-7-64-bit-usb-drivers

Thanks for your advice in any case.

  • I have a computer that has Windows 2000 Pro, I can use the disk to upgrade to Windows XP with this OS?

I have a computer that has Windows 2000 Pro, I can use the disk to upgrade to Windows XP with this OS? It's

an old computer, but it works very well.  I want to switch to XP using the Windows upgrade disc. But

in the specifications it lists only 98, 98 Second and ME as an operating system you can upgrade.  Thanks John

Provided the specifications of the computer meets Windows XP you can switch from 2000 to XP. If it does not meet the specifications, you may upgrade the computer first or get a new one which is more cheaper today.

In addition, please note that you can only switch to Windows XP Professional. If it is a home edition you have then it will not work. You can refer to the link below on how to update your copy of Windows 2000 to Windows XP Pro.

I can't install the driver that came with my TV/FM USB box because it is a 32-bit driver. My OS is Windows 7 64 bit. Please how to install this driver?

You should go to the 'box' TV manufacturer support website and download and install a 64-bit driver.

The 32-bit driver will not be installed in a 64-bit system.

What is the model of TV 'box '?

    Windows Vista Compatibility Center

First thing to do is to check its Vista compatibility at the link above, and if not to see what patches/solutions are available from its manufacturer...

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-compatibility-mode/

If this is not Vista compatible, read the info on the link above.
It works for some programs, but not all.

This applies to software programs, NOT hardware drivers.

If it's Vista compatible > uninstall it > Re-download/save to your desktop > right click on the setup.exe > run as admin.

  • Can't get the driver for 32-bit windows 7 HP DeskJet 5440 via windows update.

Original title: driver HP DeskJet 5440 windows 7 32 bit

I was unable to get the driver for 32-bit windows 7 HP DeskJet 5440 via windows update.  I also was unbale to find your compatibility Center.  Is there a link were I can down-load the driver directly from.

    Tony,

    In fact, I assumed that yours was always supported by HP * but I understand now that it's not [so I guess that it is more than 10 years because it is their general support period].  {* Mine is a DJ 2540 and is only a few years so I thought a 5440 DJ must be more recent}

    I see that HP gives you general instructions on installing drivers in http://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-deskjet-5440-printer-series/445466/model/445467/document/c01796879/ I checked Microsoft update catalog service and nothing found for HP Deskjet 5440, that's why you're not having any success with the generic instructions, giving you these instructions seem to presuppose the existence of a Windows driver for this specific model.  {HP must have given up your specific model before that this catalogue has been compiled, because hardware manufacturers are those that connect to their drivers inside}

However, my suggestions may solve your problem or maybe not.  They are simply the steps that seem more likely to be successful.  Personally, I'd a system image before you try each of these suggestions so that you can go back to square one if something goes terribly wrong.

Suggestion 1 - go to the devices & Printers dialog box, click Add a printer, select HP then select HP Deskjet 5400 series [the sequence in the list is awkward, this entry is about 10% of the way to the bottom of the list], click on Next and follow the procedure of menus at its conclusion.  Even if it's completely successful, plan to run my Suggestion 4 below as well in case of future need.

Suggestion 2 - out whatever the driver that shipped with your printer in the first place, try to install in compatibility mode [right click on its executable, click on the tab compatibility , the value of the check box for run this program in compatibility mode for... and select a BONE the printer worked correctly with.]  Then go to the executable, right-click and select run as administrator.  This idea is not frivolous, until he blew something internally, I was using my 1999/2000 HP Deskjet 1220C successfully on Windows 7 x 64 for four years [despite the HP user forums which implies that this was not possible].

Suggestion 3 - go back to the HP site to http://support.hp.com/gb-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-deskjet-5440-printer-series/445466/model/445467 but select 10 Windows as your operating system.  In the results, the Diagnostics Utility Tools point contains now a setup generic [hppiw.exe] who described "HP for Windows printer setup wizard was created to help users Windows 10 download and install the software solution most appropriate for their printer and newer HP HP Windows 7 and Windows 8/8.1.   Simply run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions. " Download & run [run as Admin] of this file.

Suggestion 4 - Connect to an Admin-level account first, then, using IE [there than IE], date back to the Microsoft update service catalog and search for HP Deskjet 5400 series.  It will give a lot of results, then click on the driver name in the left column of title to see details for each potential choice [especially if it is 32 or 64 bit].  The top of the list is [32-bit] Microsoft Update for HP Deskjet 5400 Series driver dated June 21, 2006.  [You might also download & file the second element, the 64-bit version, just in case you change computers in the future]  Add the chosen driver [s] to the "trash" then download - you will be asked to select a file to download first {it is at this stage that the process would be a break without further explanation or any error if you had not been connected to an Admin-level account before launching IE}.  I think that these drivers also work with Windows 10 thus, in the hope that your printer works for the years to come, it would be well worth your copies of maintenance of them filed there ready for your next computer use.

Proposal 5 - go [back] to the forums of user HP Deskjets & find 5440.  See if any of the other suggestions can help you - unless you have already looked through them all the more relevant [I realize that you have been here once already as one of the threads that I just watched was of you].

We know, in advance, which of these suggestions will lead to the best possible solution.  So please come back to this forum to explain what happened when you tried the.  Your experiences will benefit all users of HP Deskjet 5440 who come here looking for advice.

    Good luck
