Using the pattern in Illustrator CC

I used the mode pattern successfully until the update to the latest version of Illustrator CC.

In the past, when I used the pattern mode for my drawings and then, put the model on a canvas, the boss again while I enlarged the drawing area. Now, if I repeat the same procedure, the right model element enlarges and false that I enlarged the canvas. Will there be a new procedure to use design mode?  Any help would be welcome. Thank you very much.

    Hello! I use photoshop elements 12 and I just set a new model. Using the pattern stamp tool, I'm brushing my boss on my photo; However, the model will come out in checkerboard and I don't want be check patterns, only the template itself. I tried checking and unchecking the box alignment, but it doesn't seem to change anything. How to brush on the model without making a checkerboard pattern.

    Well, defined bosses are in fact repeat patterns, that is why your seeing what looks like multiple images of the same thing.

    This means that if you try to cover a larger area than the initial size of defined pattern, the pattern is repeated.

    What you could do is to make a selection of the area you want to fill the (flower) pattern with and go to layer > new fill layer > model

    Use a combination of the scale slider, then move the model on the image until your happy with the set up.

    (while the Model dialog box fill is open you can click on the area of document and move the model)

  • Any suggestions for Tuts on the use of paths in Illustrator?

    Hi all

    I am now re-creating a logo in Illustrator... I just went to follow a tutorial that creates a vector image of an illustration which was interesting, but the tutorial do not go in detail on how to use the tool in Illustrator CS4.

    Can anyone recommend a good tutorials to go through these steps in more detail? For some reason when I saw work/letters/logo, the form I've created fills automatically...

    Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!

    I found this page very useful me: http://vector.tutsplus.com/tools-tips/illustrators-pen-tool-the-comprehensive-guide/

    At the end of the guide, there is a "pen tool exercise." It may be the illustration you mentioned. It greatly helped me to learn how to use the pen tool. The only thing that I don't think that it covered was making a path with the pen, you can click an anchor point to convert the curve corner. I think it's terminology, anyway.

  • Can I transfer a custom made patterns from Illustrator to Photoshop?

    Hi all

    I created a custom made model in solid black in Illustrator and want to use it as a form defined in Photoshop, I can do this?

    First, create the pattern in Illustrator and save it as a sample of the model. Apply the model to a certain squares of size at your convenience, expand it, and then flatten transparency copy and paste from Illustrator to Photoshop as an object path / smart.

    From there, you can set it as a pattern in Photoshop.

  • Use of the nuances in Illustrator

    Hi all

    A few questions about a project logo, I'm working on: my client wants a picture of a balloon hot air, in stone, in its logo. He wants the stone to appear as a stone wall, i.e. several small stones in place to the wall. I know this is ridiculously complicated to a logo, but I want to have a go at it and see if it works - otherwise, I'll encourage them to simplify.

    So, what I managed to do up to now, it is to place an image of a stone wall and use the trace function to convert into vectors. Then I dragged the image to the Swatches palette to create a new grade, after which I will fill in the part of the ball with the shade.

    My first question: this will always be a vector image using this process?

    My second question: is there a simpler way to achieve this?

    My third question: does anyone know of a resource where I could find a free, simple vector image of stones or rocks?

    Thanks in advance for any input provided.

    function() {return A.apply (null, [this] .concat ($A (arguments)))}

    My client wants a picture of a balloon hot air, in stone, in its logo.

    First of all, tell your client: "Wow."_FITTED It is original. Never heard of Led Zepplin? Iron Butterfly? »

    ;-)

    function() {return A.apply (null, [this] .concat ($A (arguments)))}

    Not really ridiculously complicated. Your work as a logo design is to simplify a concept visually.

    function() {return A.apply (null, [this] .concat ($A (arguments)))}

    So, what I managed to do up to now, it is to place an image of a stone wall and use the trace function to convert into vectors.

    No way I'd do it for a logo. A good logo is brief, boiled down to its essence. not only in terms of design, but also by its construction. This makes it strong in all its possible uses. Automatic tracing is a last resort very amateur. No autotrace to create an original logo. Draw it correctly.

    function() {return A.apply (null, [this] .concat ($A (arguments)))}

    Then I did drag the image to the Swatches palette to create a new shade.

    If you dragged the results of autotrace to the Swatches palette, you just create a shade of reason.

    function() {return A.apply (null, [this] .concat ($A (arguments)))}

    .. .after I'll fill in the part of the ToolTip with the color chart.

    It will work if you go just for a very flat treatment, dimensionless (potentially annoying). In addition, however, you have specified Pierre, not brick. Who is the antithesis of a ground shade, who is just repeating the same graph.

    function() {return A.apply (null, [this] .concat ($A (arguments)))}

    My first question: this will always be a vector image using this process?

    If the content that you used to set the Swatch template is only the vector illustrations, then Yes, the shade of ground resulting will be only the vector illustrations. When you use the autotrace feature, you have the choice to keep the original raster image. But once again; It is not advisable anyway, and I don't know why you want a pattern for this shade.

    function() {return A.apply (null, [this] .concat ($A (arguments)))}

    My second question: is there a simpler way to achieve this?

    Do not "easy." Look for best practices. If you are going to draw an appropriate logo, you know how use a program like Illustrator. One of the possible ways to proceed would be:

    1 draw a pattern of rocks, laid out like a rock wall, as purely vector line. Store as a symbol.

    2 use the 3D effect to create the geometry of the surface of the ball (or one of its sections of gore). Map the symbol to the surface, using the invisible geometry option.

    3. If you use several objects, 'assemble' look like the finished ball.

    4. the result is NOT the final. It's just a 'sketch' to help you spread the compelling geometry. Use as something to draw manually. Do the work of art. Then make his ways as simple and clean as possible. (This involves knowing how to draw efficient, tidy paths.)

    function() {return A.apply (null, [this] .concat ($A (arguments)))}

    My third question: does anyone know of a resource where I could find a free, simple vector image of stones or rocks?

    One of the main objectives of a logo is uniqueness. There is no way that your customer can really own its logo if it is built of clipart. A good logo has to be original.

  • Try to use the same pattern for more than two channels (CSR configuration) with usb 6000

    Hello

    I am currently trying to implement a LabView code to get readings of voltage using 5 different places at the same time. I want to only use the first location in the ground and get 4 measurements of voltage between the ground and each of the other 4 channels. I use a USB 6000 which, for now, allows me to use the same pattern for only two channels. Is it possible to use the same pattern for 4 channels?

    Thank you

    Maria

    The images do not explain everything. You must explain what are the sensors. I think you totally wrong on how they should be linked. CSR, all sensors must be a common understanding and the outputs not individual channels as I have already explained. If you are unable to do this, you should probably not use CSR and you have the wrong data acquisition device. If you want a side of a sensor as a reference, you need differential connections.

  • Using the filter mapping url-pattern WebCenter Sites

    Hi experts WCS.

    I had written a URLRewriteFilter for one of our sites, it works fine and everything. Now, I wanted to change the URLRewriteFilter so that it would apply ONLY to one of the sites.

    What I had for WebRoot:

    WebRoot: mySiteOne

    The root URL: / cs/mySiteOne

    And the URL of the homepage is simply 'House '. He worked initially in my local ashttp://localhost:9080 / cs/mySiteOne/home'.

    For my purpose, I had modified the Web.XML as such:

    <filter>
        <filter-name>MyURLRewriteFilter</filter-name>
        <filter-class>com.my.sites.filters.MyURLRewriteFilter</filter-class>
        <init-param>
            <param-name>SitePrefix</param-name>
            <param-value>mySiteOne</param-value>
        </init-param>
    </filter>
    <filter-mapping>
        <filter-name>MyURLRewriteFilter</filter-name>
        <url-pattern>/cs/mySiteOne/*</url-pattern>
    </filter-mapping>

    in order to MyURLRewriteFilter should be applied only to the 'http://localhost:9080/cs/mySiteOne /', NOT mySiteTwo, mySiteX, etc...

    but I got a 404 error. "The requested resource is not available.". It must be something that I did wrong with the url-pattern <>.

    Note that when I used < url-pattern > / * < / url-pattern > with everything else the same it was working fine.

    Any help, anyone?

    Hi all

    I think I discovered on the setting of when parsing the net... When the url scheme is begin by ' / ', it is compared to the current context root.

    The assessment model will be ://whatever_else_you_included_in_the_pattern /.

    So my must be defined as

    / mySiteOne / *.

    Instead of

    / CS/mySiteOne / *.

    Because the ' / cs' are my context root and it is already included in the starting slash (/).

  • How to insert photoshop image with a work/clipping path in illustrator using the path?

    How to place an image in Illustrator using the clipping/work path created in Photoshop?

    I have a .jpg of an object on a background image. This image has a clipping path that écrêtera the background of the image. I could clip the outside background (in Photoshop) and save the image as a file .psd with a transparent background, and then insert the .psd file in Illustrator... it's easy. What I can't understand is to place the image (bottom) .jpg and use clipping path Photoshop be clipping path in Illustrator. In this way, I can take this clipping path and use it as a layer of gloss spot for production. I work on a Macbook Pro and CC2014. Thank you.

    But you can export the path separately in Illustrator, then he get married to the JPEG placed as a clipping mask.

    In traces of Photoshop Panel, target the path, and then choose file > export > traces to Illustrator...

    He'll write a .ai file. Open and select all (it's a quick and easy way to 'see' the path because Photoshop it will export with no border or background, leaving mostly 'invisible' on the artboard Illustrator).

    Then you can copy it to the collage at the top of your JPEG placed. Position them as you like, select this option and the JPEG format, then choose object > clipping mask > make...

  • Problem with lines in Illustrator using the Wacom Tablet

    Hi all

    I have no idea why I'm having this problem in Illustrator. I use the small Intuos Pen Tablet (CTL-480), and my lines in illustrator is really strange. Even when I turn off the pressure in the brush settings, there is a gap in the line (it takes just one line of the same thickness). The Tablet works perfectly in Photoshop, but because I use the tablet to create art using plates (typography), it is easier and better for me to use illustrator. You are not sure that someone else had a similar problem or know maybe a setting I could change or try to fix it?

    I have attached a picture of the problem.

    Thank you for your help.

    This is a known issue.

    If all you want is a line single width, do not use brushes. Use the pencil tool and a simple blow

    If you apply a calligraphy brush, apply the effect zig - zag to it with a value of 0, then a setting of about 100 (turn on the preview to adjust)

    Your options are:

    -try to make it work (could take a few hours and may does not always work)

    -get the CS6 (has problems as well, but works a little better)

    -get CC

    -install a virtual machine with an older system (10.6 or 10.8)

    -Check if your Mac is not as new as you think and you can still run Yosemite (also has problems, but perhaps not as much)

    Why Illustrator does not accept the 'F1' key as a shortcut? I deleted the default keyboard to "clipping mask/do" command and now I can't use the "F1" key All other command options are used for other shortcuts. Should I delete the Illustrator preferences and start again? If so, how do I?

    What OS? If a Mac, go to System Preferences and check the box that says deal with F-keys regular keys (or something to that effect). This will trigger the F keys to be used in artificial intelligence.

    "I try to avoid cutting each line twice.  This is double the cost.

    I hear you. I was there for more than 30 years.

    There are very few single line fonts. And most of the people is the property of specific burning software (i.e. the TTF or OTF fonts). Apart from these burning programs, what had to happen is for a foundry of fonts specifically design a single font. And, from what I've heard of these smelters (for the last 30 + years), the market is too small. I'm not saying that they are correct, it's just that it is their perception.
