Utility Protection satellite L830-14 days (PSKF2E) HARD drive

Hello
After one generation NEW 8.1 of Windows with 64-bit, all the drivers are present except ACPI\TOS620A.

I download and install the drivers for HDD Protection Utility

After the installation, I see the ico for the Protection of the HARD drive in the systray, but if I click on it the battery, power options & sensitivity "are not selectable: in a word the protection not display error motion if I move the pc"

Thanks for your help!

Hello
> After a generation NEW 8.1 of Windows with 64-bit, all the drivers are present except ACPI\TOS620A.
The ACPI\TOS620A means the HDD Protection Utility and can be this device should disappear by the installation of [v Toshiba HDD Protection Utility 2.5.0002.002 to Win 8.1 | http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_driver_details.jsp?service=EU&selCategory = 2 & selFamily = 2 & selSeries = 178 & selProduct = 7509 selSh ortMod = 3735 & language = 13 & selOS = 46 & selType = all & yearu pload = & monthupload = & dayupload = & useDate = null & mode = a llMachines & search = & action = search & macId = & country = al l & selectedLanguage = 13 & type = all & page = 1 & ID = 88183 & OSI D = 46 & = driverLanguage] 128

In order to ensure the proper functioning of Toshiba tools and utilities, you should check if all Win 8.1 Toshiba drivers are pre-installed and updated correctly.
For example, the system driver Toshiba to win 8.1 is essential!

As far as I know the Satellite M70 was available with hard drives SATA and IDE hard drives. If you have a SATA HDD, you can use this HARD drive.

The Satellite M70 takes to load only SATA150 (SATA1) but this isn't a problem. All SATA2 HDDs runs SATA1 mode and are 100% compatible.

  • Satellite A200 PSAF3A - upgrade the hard drive - data retention?

    Hello

I am working on a Toshiba Satellite A200 PSAF3A with a dying 160 GB Fujitsu 5400 RPM SATA drive installed.
I would like to replace the hard drive 400 GB 5400 RPM SATA drive in a car with a Fujitsu and transfer any existing information on it. I noticed that there is a standard C:\, a System Volume of Toshiba and a HDDRecovery partition on the current drive.

Can someone tell me if this is possible by using disk imaging software? If so, what are the issues could meet? (eg. new player will only recognize the old C:\ partition size etc.)

I have already created a backup of the drive image and all 3 partitions (as she made a lot of noise and possibly at its output) using shadow protect Desktop
Toshiba HDDRecovery & the System Volume partitions don't show in SPDesktop as the affected drive letters, so I don't know if I can restore using this program. Everyone has used successfully to achieve this result?

    pus
I also have a Ultimate Boot CD for Windows here, and have successfully used the Roadkills Disk Copy with a SATA Adapter USB to copy a C:\ on a laptop in the past. It would be a better approach? I was thinking of using this method because it must copy all 3 partitions, then just use GParted to resize C:\ to fill the rest of the available HARD disk space.

    Thanks in advance :)

  • Satellite M70-192 - question of HARD drive replacement

    Hello...

It's just my first time to ask for help in this forum... and besides, in any forum on the whole wide net.
So, sorry if am don't do this right... that's...

My brother bought a laptop (Toshiba Satellite M70 - 192 psm71e-01k00rar) of the Kuwait around 2006. A few months ago we started hearing "noise noise deaf deaf" - ing sound inside the camera and the screen is just deleted (there was an error message that is encrypted but I wasn't able to note it). I was able to boot from the DVD or USB drive. So I thought that maybe the hard drive has been the only problem.

I put in a new HARD drive (a 320 GB western digital scorpio wd3200bevt) and started to reinstall the system (I forgot which of the 2 supplied Toshiba cd I inserted first - media cd or the windows xp CD-ROM) but in the middle of installing the keyboard area was so hot that I unplugged / stop the laptop immediately.

After that, the HARD drive has become invisible to any Linux or rescue CD or utility of HARD drive that I tried to boot from... (fortunately?) The said HDD vendor as the HARD wd scorpio drive + really + defective and they replaced...

    * now the questions: * I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd scorpio *(.55 amp) *. Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?
    Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
How can I _properly_ replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?

Please note that before I bought the new HARD drive, I ve read somewhere in the "net I could use a disk sata2 on a sata1 controller, etc. + * pls help!" * +

Toshiba services are simply too expensive for me right now if will send it (cell phone) in a licensed shop. Why I'm in DIY mode that s. I don't think I can afford an another fried Scorpion!

    Thank you!
    yours,
    TAC

    > I discovered that the rated current for the HARD drive (60 GB) provided originally for the Toshiba M70 is a little bigger than the new wd Scorpion (.55 MPA). Could this be the reason why the 1st WD Scorpion got "fried"?

I don t think that a larger and faster HARD drive might be the reason for the higher internal temperature.
You said that you have heard and his strange "noise noise deaf deaf." Such sound could be created by the defective cooling module. A defective module could be responsible for the highest internal temperature

    > Is it a SATA1 - SATA2 question?
    Here's your second thread:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums//message.jspa?MessageID=150272
You can see that the SATA2 is compatible to the bottom and the s SATA2 HARD drive would work with common controller SATA HDD.

    > How can I properly replace/upgrade our laptop HARD drive?
Replacing the HARD drive is not difficult. I see that you have already found the HARD drive Bay and bought a HARD drive.
In your case I recommend using the common SATA 2.5 HARD drive with 100 GB maybe 120 GB.

    Welcome them

  • Satellite A300 - how to start HARD drive recovery after own OS insatallation

    Hi guys.

    I have a question.
I have a Toshiba Satellite A300, which came with Windows Vista.
Normally I have the recovery with the normally pre-installed utility partition.
After that I formatted the system partition, I installed a clean and fresh Windows 7 copy.

    My question is this.
Since the recovery partition does not get soiled with, is there not a way to install the disk recovery utility hard back in recovery of Windows of F8 before the boot options?

Please don't tell me that I need to have the recovery disk.
I already did, I just want to find a solution because it is not that hard for someone who accidentally formatted the system partition and had not created the disks, but the recovery partition. My guess is to do some modifications in the files of the Windows recovery environment that are launched when you use the option to repair my computer at startup, because normally, HARD drive recovery utility appears as one of its tools-options.

The problem is that I don't have to where these files are, maybe (C:\boot?)
Currently, I am trying to see if a facility upgrade of windows 7 on windows vista will keep options for hard drive recovery then maybe I will find what it takes.

    All suggestions are welcome!
    Thank you for your time.

OK, just a hint more, I found what is happening with the recovery environment, and which must be replaced to include more tools...
    This article was really helpful:

Hay @ all. My name is ahmet.

I'm from the Germany. I have a problem.

I bought a toshiba laptop and I think it's a very good laptop.
But I don't like Vista. It uses to much space, much grafic and a lot more.
So I tried to install my old windows XP Professional sp2. Here's the problem:

During installation, Xp procres say there is no hard drive.
Hmm, I thought I should have a look on other forums. There, they said to integrate a sata driver on the xp cd.
But I don't understand the using nLite to use.

Could you show me how I had to reinstall my old XP?
I have a lot of files to my laptop and I change some settings in Vista so that I could not use internet.
If I want to reinstall vista with the recovery cd, it would remove all folders, photo ect.
I use only my other old computer.

I would be very happy if you could help me.
Thank you very much!!! If you have an answer I would be too happy

    Hello

The nLite is a freeware program that helps you to integrate the SATA (Intel matrix Storage Manager) driver in the original XP operating system.

If you want to know how to use nLite software, then glasses a bit.
There are many websites that explain how to use nLite.

(Driver SATA) Intel Storage Manager can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

Last month, I created a new XP CD using the nLite.
I've included a few pilots, SP2 and some patches it of really not very difficult.

As I said... Scope of protection is a key ;)

  • Toshiba Satellite S50 - A - is dead HARD drive?

Hello.. I hope I can get some answers from other owners of S50 - A or least maybe a tech?... are these discs defective or only supposed to last two years so you get out of your wallet again so Toshiba infiltrates the money from you?

My father bought this laptop for me for the College and school so I can work and play at the same time it's about 2 years old...

    Model of care &: S50 - A Satellite, model # PSKKEC - 00G 007 - Intel i5 - Geforce GTX A 740 m - to-SATA 1.

2 years... Since purchasing computers laptops are pretty perfect, I have done regular upward Dungeon defragments hard-ware/anti virus scans and every quarter I ran across a sweep of care system advanced... everything was fine.

The only games I play quite a lot on this laptop is counter-strike Global Offensive by H1Z1... a week ago, I was on teamspeak and it said that I had a driver error and tells me to restart, I did... and that's where it went all down hill...

I had a lot of mistakes, lack of funds etc., tried to do a reset from the pc, is not called zero also tried to try a restore of the system without success... hard disk started vibrating and making a 'written' sound (as the disc has been actively writing incredibly fast..) it was so distorted, I couldn't save any recent stuff... (last back up I did was about 3-4 months before)... no all my photos & academic materials are uploaded to servers online, so I was Biggie don't like meh, whatever... I listen to music on spotify so care to lose all that.

My only option was to format the disk and do a clean install... what worked for one week... was able to update all my drivers download/install geforce experience and my anti virus program, log in to my school credentials and downloaded steam... everything was going a lot and yesterday after a session of one hour of h1z1 I quit the game and when I tried to open my browser google chrome that nothing answered, the button start to reset would not answer the computer literally just does not react anymore than all...

Forced a restart and got bsod - unmountable_boot_volume - entered the command... prompt he says pretty well sound replacing each bad cluster known to man... nothing was fixed/repaired... do you have a chkdsk c:/r/f and got this - an unspecified error 766f6c756d652e63 3f1

I am ready to throw in the towel on this... I guess that Toshiba gives a 1 year warranty on all hardware related Articles?... so there is no point in calling me to and ship unless I want to pay an arm and one leg for another 1 TB sata-one that will only last another 2 years?... or should I go to some place local tech and get them to install a crucial 2.5 "500 GB SSD?

People of any options?... I am open for them.

    Thanks for reading,

    See you soon.

    HARD drive seems defective.
SSD is a good choice, but avoid those that use a starforce controller, since they have more problems than others.
The Intel and Samsung SSD seem to be the most compatible.

  • Satellite Pro C660-1LR - new HARD drive but no recovery disk

I need help for my son who is the Satellite Pro C660 1LR laptop.

In this portable hard drive is completely dead, I have not created a disk of recovery for this system of portable computers.
I bought a new hard drive that is installed... However, as you guessed it I have no access to reinstall an OS, this laptop works on windows 7.

I'm not really tech savvy so if someone can advise me please do explain to the fool proof format! I try to avoid having to buy something expensive.

    > I'm trying to avoid having to buy something expensive.
Problem is that you don't have many options in this regard.
If you want to have the factory again settings you must install recovery disc. You can order on https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx of course is not free, but, in my opinion, without a doubt the best solution.

You can buy the Microsoft installation disc and install the clean version. You must purchase a valid license for it.
In this case, you must install all the necessary drivers, tools and utilities for more than one by one.

Just in case you can get this installation of Microsoft and the free license you can save money.

Believe me, the best solution is the original recovery disk command.

I want to upgrade and put in a new HARD drive, but I can't seem to find any info on weither all readers will be the right size. will be the screws on this form? How will I know

If anyone has any ideas please let me know...

    Thank you

    Hey,.

Theoretically, you can install each HARD drive with SATA 2.5 form factor interface in Satellite Pro U400.

If you install a new HARD drive in Satellite Pro U400, you must use the old disk cover/case HARD to install.
I put t know what you mean exactly with that, but maybe you can upload a photo to make it clearer.

Finally and above all it doesn t matter what company it comes. You can use a Toshiba or another company HARD disk too like Western Digital, Seagate, etc..

  • Satellite M30 - need to change HARD drive

    Hello

I bought a Satellite SM30-104 (model No.: PSM30E-0QRYK-EN) in 2004 and it seems that the HARD drive is dead since it reboots windows xp family again and again. While Windows is loading, at some point, the laptop restarts from the beginning. I can not even access the Bios.

Therefore, I suspect the HARD drive to be dead and would like to change: SMART MK4021GAS HDD2182 B ZE01 T, 40 GB, 4200 RPM,.

Could you please let me know where I can buy a new, similar or compatible with more storage?

Your response will be much appreciated!
    Best regards

    > While Windows is loading, at some point, the laptop restarts from the beginning. I can not even access the Bios
    > Accordingly, I suspect the HARD drive to be dead and would like to change: SMART MK4021GAS HDD2182 B ZE01 T, 40 GB, 4200 RPM,.

Hmm if the HDD died then windows would not load what whatever, and you get an OS message cannot be found.

However, if you want to change the HARD drive then you can do this
You will need a 2.5 IDE HDD. I think the 120 GB limitation due to the LBA28bit
However, it is my personal opinion perhaps more HARD drive would be compatible as well

  • Satellite L655-1HE «Problem of HARD drive recovery»

    Hello

I have the Satellite L655-1HE. I created a "HARD drive recovery" through "create recovery media. On the contrary, CD/DVD, I put it in a USB Flash drive. But when I used it, a mistake was "copy of splitpart or the Canadian Red Cross has failed!" After that, I can't boot my laptop more. There is a message "BOOTMNGR missing." I think I already deleted the operating system in the player. Please help me. How can I fix?

    Hello

If you can, please try to boot again from the USB and run the recovery.

Whatever the problem, if the recovery is unsuccessful, I recommend the following steps:

-buy a set of recovery-store to the wire to https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu
-If you did, and even this game fails to install, take care to check your HARD disk for problems.

    Hope this helps
