Satellite P500/024 - Eco button & HARD drive Protection feature

Hi guys,.

I did a clean install of windows 7 64 bit on my laptop, when I put the drivers on I got a system restore on reboot after installing the HDD protection (I went through 2 restorations to this functioned as the problem) the eco button worked on both of these first attempts.

I now work properly but the Eco button refuses to work now, I've tried several times to uninstall and reinstall, but without any result
When I select the actual program eco mode it works and brings the button 'eco', as it must also goes off to do likewise.

When I push the button on the keyboard eco everything get if the beep and it flashes briefly on the screen of the laptop.
I also left the protection of the HARD drive, no matter what you have any suggestions on the foregoing?

See you soon

Hey Buddy,

To be honest your ad is a little difficult to understand, but about the Eco button, the page of Toshiba Eco utility do you have installed? It is necessary to use the Eco button.
Also the value-added package must also be installed. It contains Toshiba components common driver which is necessary to make the other Toshiba programs work.

Why did you do a clean install of Windows 7? What about the factory settings? I mean the version preinstalled Windows with all the drivers and tools. Can you confirm that he of working with these settings?

Toshiba UK say it is not possible to install a second drive in a P500-12D.
The reason seems to be that the "bowl" for the second disk drive carrier is not sold.
I was also told that the second drive Bay could not be used "on the model" but the sata connection is there and inserts brass threaded in the case of the scree of the carrier are present.

The Bay is deeper than 1 Bay (for the thicker > 500 GB drives and, therefore, the support unit for the 1st Bay can be used - entire centres are also different.)

    Ideas for a work around?

    > The reason seems to be that the "bowl" for the second disk drive carrier is not sold.
The reason is that there are different configurations of P500
The P500 and other series of Toshiba laptops are equipped with different motherboards.
Not all motherboards support 2 HARD drive controllers.

This can be a bit confusing for someone buying a laptop and see the second HARD drive Bay, but if you would remove the 2nd HARD drive Bay cover, then you will see that there is no HARD drive connector.
This means that you will not be able to use the second HARD drive.

  • How can satellite P500-024 - I do a new partition with full disk space?

    Hello

I just bought the Satellite P500-024 and it came with 640 GB HARD drive.

I just found when clicking on * my computer * which is the HARD drive is cut to the drive C: and D: drive. How can I add the D drive half of the HARD drive on the C: drive of priority so there because I then a full accese 640GO HDD in a chase without cutting 50-50?

The reason why I ask this is because I noticed when I turn on the laptop it takes ages and maybe a bit slower due to the fact that it is half of the hard drive on drive C. So I want to know how it is easy to add them together into one so that I can get fast and pure to my new Satellite P500-024 performance.

    Thank you.

    Hi tagvic!

First of all I must say that the two partitions have nothing to do with the slow start procedure on your laptop. Your laptop will be no faster if I you have only one partition, made it s! In addition, the second partition is required for Toshiba HDD recovery option. You know about it?

HARD drive recovery option is really nice. You can restore factory in a few minutes. For it pour l' utiliser use go from the advanced boot menu, and then select Repair my computer. Then, you can select this option and follow the instructions on the screen. The first partition will be deleted, and after that it will have installed an image of factory settings. This means that you return to the same state that you started the laptop, the first time. The operating system preinstalled with already all the drivers and tools are installed.

In my view, there is another reason for the slow start to the top. You should try to remove Toshiba Tempro. On my computer it causes a slow start too, and after removing the laptop started much faster.
I can also recommend you to clean the system using CCleaner and defragment the HARD drive. Removal of startup programs folder that you don't need and try another program like AntiVir AntiVirus.

    I hope I could help a bit.

  • HP ProtectSmart hard drive protection

    Hey guys,.

So the story is, I bought a HP Pavilion dv6-6b07tx Entertainment Notebook 2nd hand and quickly got fed up with the slow loading with the 5400 RPM HARD drive time... I upgraded to a 250 GB SSD HARD drive and Windows 8.1 at the same time (super fast loading times now), I now get the error ACPI\HPQ0004 dreaded in the Device Manager. I get that it's the stuff of HP ProtectSmart and found where to find the driver for it, but do I need? What is doing? Can I just leave it like that?

    At soon knightwolf153

That error is for the ACPI/HPQ0004 unknown devicefor spinner traditional hard drives.

HP ProtectSmart hard drive Protection software protects the hard drive of "parking the heads ' if the laptop fell accidentally, or is suddenly hit by another object.

You now have an installed electronic reader so that you can ignore the error message. Your drive has no head to the Park. If the error message really bothers you, then you can install the Hard Drive Protection HP ProtectSmart software.

    Hello

Windows 7 was not working properly and I tried to reinstall. However, after the installation, it starts but it does not complete the process and maintains the pc shut down before I could use it. I can now use it just because I installed Ubuntu and I can also access all other partitions of Ubuntu, one that contains the HDD Recovery folder.

Can I reinstall windows from this folder?

I see that someone else already managed, using stormwater management files as the link below shows

    Hello

You are still able to access the start menu in Windows or Ubuntu installation has been removed and the Windows boot loader?
If so, you are not able to start the HARD drive recovery more

Why? It is very easy: even if you are able to access the files, you can start this feature because the original Windows Start menu of the preinstalled Windows system is necessary to start the HARD drive recovery feature.
So in this case, you need the recovery media (USB key) that you created using Toshiba recovery media creator.

Of course, this could work without installed Windows, but there is no guarantee for this.

But why I m telling you this information? You can find everything in your owner's manual ;)

  • Toshiba Satellite S50 - A - is dead HARD drive?

Hello.. I hope I can get some answers from other owners of S50 - A or least maybe a tech?... are these discs defective or only supposed to last two years so you get out of your wallet again so Toshiba infiltrates the money from you?

My father bought this laptop for me for the College and school so I can work and play at the same time it's about 2 years old...

    Model of care &: S50 - A Satellite, model # PSKKEC - 00G 007 - Intel i5 - Geforce GTX A 740 m - to-SATA 1.

2 years... Since purchasing computers laptops are pretty perfect, I have done regular upward Dungeon defragments hard-ware/anti virus scans and every quarter I ran across a sweep of care system advanced... everything was fine.

The only games I play quite a lot on this laptop is counter-strike Global Offensive by H1Z1... a week ago, I was on teamspeak and it said that I had a driver error and tells me to restart, I did... and that's where it went all down hill...

I had a lot of mistakes, lack of funds etc., tried to do a reset from the pc, is not called zero also tried to try a restore of the system without success... hard disk started vibrating and making a 'written' sound (as the disc has been actively writing incredibly fast..) it was so distorted, I couldn't save any recent stuff... (last back up I did was about 3-4 months before)... no all my photos & academic materials are uploaded to servers online, so I was Biggie don't like meh, whatever... I listen to music on spotify so care to lose all that.

My only option was to format the disk and do a clean install... what worked for one week... was able to update all my drivers download/install geforce experience and my anti virus program, log in to my school credentials and downloaded steam... everything was going a lot and yesterday after a session of one hour of h1z1 I quit the game and when I tried to open my browser google chrome that nothing answered, the button start to reset would not answer the computer literally just does not react anymore than all...

Forced a restart and got bsod - unmountable_boot_volume - entered the command... prompt he says pretty well sound replacing each bad cluster known to man... nothing was fixed/repaired... do you have a chkdsk c:/r/f and got this - an unspecified error 766f6c756d652e63 3f1

I am ready to throw in the towel on this... I guess that Toshiba gives a 1 year warranty on all hardware related Articles?... so there is no point in calling me to and ship unless I want to pay an arm and one leg for another 1 TB sata-one that will only last another 2 years?... or should I go to some place local tech and get them to install a crucial 2.5 "500 GB SSD?

People of any options?... I am open for them.

    Thanks for reading,

    See you soon.

    HARD drive seems defective.
SSD is a good choice, but avoid those that use a starforce controller, since they have more problems than others.
The Intel and Samsung SSD seem to be the most compatible.

  • Satellite A350-20 q - dead hard drive?

    Hello

I have a Toshiba Satellite A350-20 q. There always work very well and I use it as my main computer. A week ago I fell asleep without turning off, and when I awoke in the morning, the system had frozen. I tried to make it respond with ctrl alt del and try to sleep, but he had completely locked up and nothing worked so I thought that I had no choice but to hold the power button until it turned off. Once I had rebooted the machine upward it started to load ok but once he had got up in front of loading with the Green scroll bar and on the Welcome screen first bells were ringing and then the hard drive starts clicking and cry, almost like a mixture of a 56 k modem and the rattling noise makes your drive hard when windows starts everything first up on the desktop.

Now, what I'm trying to get it to load it does the same thing. I tried many things are:

    -Just leave it starts normally

-From each safemode parameter it gives

    -Startup Repair

    - And where you press f8 and choose repair your computer.

They all get about 5 seconds to load anything to do with windows and crashed. Clicks last about a minute and then stop and ive left in each of these situations for about 20 minutes to see if it will charge eventually but it just stuck in the same place.

But what I want to know is, is the dead hard drive or can it be repaired with a new installation of windows. I read somewhere that the hard drives make these noises when they suffer "boot failure"? I can talk complete nonsense here I don't really know much about how to work hard disks and what it takes to get fixed.

I have a desktop pc and another PC toshiba laptop Equium which can be used to help recover the disk hard if it's possible or even necessary. I don't mind forking out for the recovery disk if I'm sure that his will solve the problem without losing all my data. I asked a guy on a market that had a pc repair saddles but he just said ' dead hard drive I sell you a new "and I had yet to explain everything I just said that he made strange noises so im guessing that he was trying to me con.

If theres anything I left out or any other questions, I can answer which may help to sort then I'll do my best to answer. I really don't want to lose all my data and I can't really afford to buy a new hard drive with Christmas coming ive just had our 400 pounds on getting my car fixed the fork and MOTed are therefore a bit tight at the moment so if I can fix it without having to spend any money then that would be perfect.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post and I hope that someone out there knows a solution to my problem.

    Ross.

    Hi Ross

To be honest, I also think that HARD drive is defective.

As a first step, you should check if there is a way to access all of your important data.
You can get 2.5 SATA HDD box and put it inside the HDD of your Satellite A350. Connect it to your other satellite and you will see if you will be lucky and have full access to the HARD disk. If so, back up all your data.

After having done that, put the HARD drive in your A350 and try installing the OS using original recovery image. I hope that you created the recovery DVDs. If the original image is unable to be installed this will be the sign that the HARD drive may be... you know what I mean.
You can also try is put this drive in satellite (if SATA HDD can be used here) and try to install the satellite image.

    Test a little.

If nothing helps, you buy new HARD drive. Check eBay. You'll find used 300 GB HDD for 30 or 40 euros. Hey this is not big investment and I think you can spend so much money.

  • Satellite A200 PSAF3A - upgrade the hard drive - data retention?

    Hello

I am working on a Toshiba Satellite A200 PSAF3A with a dying 160 GB Fujitsu 5400 RPM SATA drive installed.
I would like to replace the hard drive 400 GB 5400 RPM SATA drive in a car with a Fujitsu and transfer any existing information on it. I noticed that there is a standard C:\, a System Volume of Toshiba and a HDDRecovery partition on the current drive.

Can someone tell me if this is possible by using disk imaging software? If so, what are the issues could meet? (eg. new player will only recognize the old C:\ partition size etc.)

I have already created a backup of the drive image and all 3 partitions (as she made a lot of noise and possibly at its output) using shadow protect Desktop
Toshiba HDDRecovery & the System Volume partitions don't show in SPDesktop as the affected drive letters, so I don't know if I can restore using this program. Everyone has used successfully to achieve this result?

    pus
I also have a Ultimate Boot CD for Windows here, and have successfully used the Roadkills Disk Copy with a SATA Adapter USB to copy a C:\ on a laptop in the past. It would be a better approach? I was thinking of using this method because it must copy all 3 partitions, then just use GParted to resize C:\ to fill the rest of the available HARD disk space.

    Thanks in advance :)

    > I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite C655 I could correct the entry hard drive record because someone he broke and also the Start button has been removed off the Board.

Do you mean the SATA connector on the motherboard? Is it broken?
Well, I'm don't think that its easy to fix. If something is broken on the motherboard, and then for the most part you will need a new motherboard or you would ask a specialist (electronics) for help.

    > Also have a Toshiba U300 that is touch screen and then turns blue and switches market by itself.
Try to clean the cooling fans using a jet of compressed air. Especially the laptop If OFF automatically due to a higher temperature and cleaning cooling fans can help get the best cooling performance.

    Hello

The nLite is a freeware program that helps you to integrate the SATA (Intel matrix Storage Manager) driver in the original XP operating system.

If you want to know how to use nLite software, then glasses a bit.
There are many websites that explain how to use nLite.

(Driver SATA) Intel Storage Manager can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

Last month, I created a new XP CD using the nLite.
I've included a few pilots, SP2 and some patches it of really not very difficult.

As I said... Scope of protection is a key ;)
