V2.20.21 HP CoolSense dv6 windows 7The i3 processor

Hello

Had the dv6 since a few months now and I am generally happy with it.

One thing that I do however find it boring, always active fan at regular intervals. I'm not a gamer and use the laptop mainly for maintaining accounts, navigation, play videos music youtube and occasional live streaming when my favorite sport is projected.

My overall ambient temperature is about 22 c and the laptop is on my wooden coffee table and I very rarely use it as a portable computer in the conventional sense of the term.

It's just the memory fan coming on even when I'm away from the laptop. It doesn't feel hot to the touch in key pad/palm area to rest or below. Just hot on the upper left side and warm below.  I tried the power of the energy saving plan option and it did make a big difference.  If I do a search on the basics of microsoft fan comes into its own and going Super!

As an experiment I have disabled CoolSense (only enabled or disabled settings available) has ran a quick scan, watched a video to youtube at the same time and not once the fan kick in! The laptop has not warmed up and is just warm to the same places as before.

So I wonder is CoolSense more protection by running fans as a protection measure? Should I leave it off and enjoy the silence as none of my computers portable precedents have behaved in this way, but then none of them were HP and did not have this feature?

Hello @Viggen79 ,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that you have problems with the HP CoolSense software on your laptop.

CoolSense is designed for use when the laptop is used in an environment that is not stationary. If you use the laptop on a stable surface it is actually better to have.

You will see this here:

«HP CoolSense technology is a feature in some HP laptops that combines hardware, software and mechanical design dynamically manage the temperature of your laptop, and help you stay comfortable while using it.» " HP CoolSense technology uses a motion sensor to your laptop in the sense when your computer is used in a mobile or fixed frame and automatically adjusts the performance of the computer, the speed of the fan to keep the computer cool."

Source - HP CoolSense technology

The fan is racing might be the result of many different things. As you use hover I suggest power off.

I hope this clears some things up.

    Hello

    Try the following.

Open windows control panel and on the top right, next to the display by: select "large icons".  In the new page layout, select programs and features.

Click Windows turn on or off features in the left pane.

When the window is loaded, enter a check mark against .NET Framework 3.5 (included .NET 2.0 and 3.0) then click Ok and follow the procedure to install it.

When this has completed, restart the laptop.

When windows has completely recharged, download the installer for HP CoolSense on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

If this completes Ok, restart the laptop.

  • How to remove bloatware of envy dv6 Windows 8

    Product name: Envy dv6

    OS: 8 64-bit Windows

    Error message: no

Changes: No, just open the laptop

    Problem:

What I try to do is simple:

I recently bought a new laptop for my girlfriend, but was embarrassed to find that I could not remove all the bloatware that was installed with it (snapfish, games Wildtanget, HP +, HP Games, MUCH more).

I read a ton of forums, tutorials and tutorials on removing bloatware from what I thought was Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, ect.  I found no usable information.

I went to uninstall programs in Control Panel System. Frustrating although applications such as snapfish, HP + and HP Games, for example were not on the list of programs.

I've restored the machine twice now and have found no change in the programs. The list of programs is unchanged. The laptop came with disks of recovery, and from what I've read, that they would also have the bloatware on them.

    How to remove these applications?

Most new laptops have an option called Image minimized in the Recovery Manager. This recovery HP only reinstalls Windows and important drivers/software. Have you seen such an option?

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03489643

BTW, HP Recovery Manager also offers the possibility to burn recovery discs.

  • HP DV6 WINDOWS 8 DRIVERS

Hi, I have a Hp Dv6-6100SE. I don't want to take any chances. Just help me Get the drivers so that I can easily update my laptop for Windows 8. And another problem I have is that I can't save my dv6. Tell me how to backup and how much memory does! Thank you

    Talha-mustafa,

First of all, here is a backgrounder to show you how to make backups of your system:

Computers HP - backup of your files (Windows 7)

News about Windows 8 HP support:

Systems built before October 1, 2011, for the most part, will not be on the list of people tested by the drivers of HP for Windows 8.   The documents below explain what this means and why it is important for you.

This is the Web page for your computer:

HP Pavilion dv6-6100se Entertainment Notebook PC

This is the link of Test:

Windows 8 upgrade - tested HP of control systems

It's the upgrade wizard that can help determine new 'good and evil ':

HP Notebook PC - upgrade to Windows 7 using the upgrade wizard HP

This is the important upgrade Document you should read prior to the upgrade:

Laptops - upgrade Windows 7 to Windows 8

The fact is that you can upgrade without worry - people do all the time - and sometimes it works.  It must redouble its efforts to the implementation when it does not support the driver for Windows 8 and somethings can not work no matter what.  What you choose depends on your skill level, your depth of commitment and patience.

If you have an Image of your Windows 7 system - may be a couple of image backups - you can upgrade and then just back out if it does not work for you.

Read what the documents say, do some research on what people here on the forum say (those who have updated without the support of the driver) and decide what you want to do.  Can include things that do not work easily: switchable graphics, sound, external programs, Bluetooth.

    Good luck!

    Kind regards

  • Pavilion 6052ea: 6052ea Dv6 - Windows boot Manager

    Hi guys

So I tried to do a factory reset on my Dv6, I had replaced the screen (worked) and I wanted to clean during the use of the work.

I rebooted and pressed F several times then chose a factory reset (Option 3)

Now, I get to the windows boot manager give me the 3 standard options and file: \Boot\BCD status:------0xc000000f

I don't have a recovery CD (I thought it would be re - install my original OS)

I have a flash drive to use, but for some reason any the windows download page does not recognize my CD from the bottom of the laptop key.

It is faded, but I am sure that it's okay to 99%.

Any ideas how to solve this problem or is it a bin job?

Yes it will automatically authenticate Windows 10 machines Windows 8 and there is a manual of key Code for the new version RTM 10240 there for 8 machines Pre-windows.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3dfda8/build_10240_did_you_get_assigned_a_licenseproduct/

The key shown in the link below is supposed to work with Windows 10 10240, released yesterday and has worked for me with latest Windows 10 Pro Insider with own couple extracts installs. I just downloaded the file .iso 10240 image, he engraved on a DVD and I'm going to install it on my rig here in just a bit. I will present my experience. My apron is a 8 prior to Windows machine. Here is a link to the .iso image file:

    http://Microsoft-news.com/download-Windows-10-RTM-build-10240-ISO/

You can sign up for the Insider program (instructions on the link above) just to keep all hide them before general release to the public, but MS advice support are all saying this .iso will make a clean installation using this key Code.

  • HHD has failed and needs to be replaced on my out of warranty Pavilion DV6 (Windows Vista)

I have a laptop DV6 Pavilion running Windows Vista that I bought in 2009.  I realize that is no longer under warranty HP so I have to pay for any changes or corrections to this computer.

Earlier this week, the hard drive (the one included with the computer) failed with error 03f0. It is my understanding that this error is a fatal error and the drive is essentially 'toast '... Unfortunately, I do NOT have a backup of the image of that hard drive. I have just the recovery disks that I created when I got to the computer originally.  I quite like this computer I would try out running back (if possible) without having to spend a LOT of money. In my simple mind how how I get this computer running and upward would buy/install a compatible replacement hard drive and boot the system with the recovery discs. Unfortunately, I think my plan is simply probably naïve and I probably need to do other things. So I need some advice before you start this process and possibly wasting my time and money.

I need answers to some of these questions:

-Will it record Windows/Vista OS and more recovery disks to get the computer running with a new hard drive?

-If I need Windows OS disc, can I go directly to Windows/8?  OR do I need start with Windows Vista and then upgrade to Windows/8 later?  Use recovery discs and all Windows operating system? OR I can get running with just the disks in the Windows operating system?

-If I can get the hard drive and Windows operating system loaded, I guess I need HP drivers, etc... Does it mean that I have to get the disks from HP's Windows operating system or can I get it from Microsoft or Amazon and download the drivers from HP later?

Thanks to anyone who can help me here for advice! It will save me a LOT of time and money.

What should I do? Please help, laptop is corei5, 8 GB of ram, and 750 GB hard drive

    Hello

It could be a windows problem or could also be a hardware problem as well; It is hard to know, at this time, what is the cause of the problem.

However, you can follow the methods mentioned below and see if that fixes the problem.

Method 1: You can not make a computer that runs Windows 7 stops or sleep

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/977307

Method 2: Try closing in safe mode and see if stops without hanging.

    Step 1:

    Reference:

Start your computer in safe mode:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

If step 1 work, try step 2

Step 2: A clean boot to test if any element of service or third party application startup is causing this issue.

Reference: How to solve a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7

Note: When you're done to diagnose, follow step 7 in the article to start on normal startup.
