    Hello

Vista to XP is a downgrade!

After installing XP, did you get XP drivers on HP website? See...

    http://WWW8.HP.com/UK/en/support-drivers.html

.. .to locate your particular model, then download and install the XP drivers (if there no, no guarantee if your PC comes with Vista originally).

I tried the model number you gave, but there are 41 possible matches, so I think that pv6000 is a "series" rather than a specific model number.

    Hello

Depends on hardware configuration required on later operating systems, and also find out if the manufacturer of the laptop computer is supported and provides drivers for operating systems later as to whether it is possible or feasible to upgrade or not.

There is no free upgrade Vista to 7, 8.1, or 10.

And the free update for 7/8.1 10 is over.

Follow these steps before you buy Windows 7.

Microsoft sells more than 7; Try Amazon.com.

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Run the "Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor.

I have a 32-bit system and running windows Vista Home Basic and I was trying to upgrade to vista ultimate and the system crashed and now I am unable to update to vista or install no matter what program it gives me an error 1935 and a file association error

    Hello

    Run the sfc/scannow command.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929833

Use the (SFC.exe) System File Checker tool to determine which file is causing the problem and then replace the file. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click principally madeprograms,Accessories, right-clickguest, and then clickrun as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password, or clickallow.
    2. Type the following command and press ENTER:
      sfc/scannow

The sfc/scannow command analyzes all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with appropriate Microsoft versions

If SFC detects the main problems it can't fix you may need to borrow a Microsoft dvd vista not an acer, HP etc. recovery disk and do a repair installation

read the below tutorial on how to perform a repair installation

  • How to change Vista Basic to Windows XP Home SP2 on Satellite A200-1CR edition?

    Hello

Since a few days, I bought a Toshiba Satellite A200-1CR. I am very satisfied with the laptop, although I do not work for Vista Home Basic Edition, because it is not to support the programs of the sum, so I change my operating system from Vista Home Basic to Windows XP SP2 home edition.

If I prefer to reformat the laptop and install Windows XP service pack 2 (32-bit or 64-bit, not sure yet).
However I do not know if I have to do something special for him, because it's my first laptop I have and I haven't had that one time a laptop with drivers on a CD. Now I m operating system, I think I need a driver s disc switching.

If I changed vista to XP is there any software support?
Vista for XP service pack2 change possible or not?
Someone help me. If changing the operating system where I can get the driver software?

    Hello

Yes, you can install Windows XP SP2.

There are two things you need to be aware of:

    (1) you need a SATA of F6 driver on a floppy disk when installing XP. Otherwise XP does not detect the SATA HDD. Search for "SATA" of this section, it is already been covered several times.

    (2) after installing XP, you should download and install the XP A200 drivers from the Toshiba Europe Support/Drivers site

  • During the upgrade of Vista SP2 to Windows 7 (including SP1) my keyboard is no longer in effect. How can I enter the activation code?

I'm in the process of upgrading to Vista SP2 (32 bit) to Windows 7 (32 bit) via DVD.  I saw that the process was going to take top one some time and went to sleep with the assumption that activation code window waiting for me in the morning.  Well it's here, but my USB keyboard does not (as no functional mouse).  I can't enter the code.  Does anyone have any ideas on how to approach this?

Press the power button, once, energetic and very slightly (do not press the button). If the PC is in sleep mode, it should wake him up.

  • can I downgrade from windows Vista Basic to windows xp home sem

I have windows vista home basic system. can I go down to windows xp home edition.

    Hello

There is NO right to downgrade from Vista Home Basic to XP.

You need Vista Business or Vista ultimate for this.

If you want XP, see if your computer manufacturer has XP drivers available for your laptop computer/computer model.

If the XP drivers are available for this purpose, Microsoft sells more than XP, so you should have to take the risk of buying a pirated software on the Net, which is not recommended at all.

If there is no XP drivers, XP would not work correctly in all cases.

  • -Vista Basic to Windows 7 - easy transfer old and new laptops

After facing a lot of difficulty with the Vista and bluescreen mistakes, now I changed the idea of keeping vista more. Got a new laptop from Dell with Windows 7.

Now again, the problem is, when I tried to use the transfer via the cable, the program responds to microsoft and the Service Pack update. Considering that, my vista update does not appear any new update available from the windows update menu shortcut start. I followed the instructions as stated, but again and again, I wonder the service pack update.

I visited the Microsoft Web site to download the stand-alone software for this purpose. Is it specific to any other software available for transfer easty, that it installs old laptop with Vista Home Basic?  If the service pack is available for this specific update separately, I'll download it from microsoft and install it. I have woul like to get the good link for the same thing.

Just for your info, I give below details of the old & new details of the laptop:
Old - Compac Pressario C500, Vista Home Basic,
New: Dell Inspiron 1440, Windows 7.

Grateful for your advice on this.

After having upgraded my HP Pavilion dv7-1090ed Vista 32 bit to 64 bit Windows 7 Ultimate, my TV Tuner no longer works. Windows Media Center does not recognize there is that a HP en DVB - T TV tuner is not able to find the digital terrestrial channels-tv, I could look under Vista.

I searched several for one for the advice and tried to install several recommended drivers but so far without success. Can someone help me with this?

    Hi Charlie54,

You can try using Recovery Manager to restore the software and drivers (Windows 7) to restore the original drivers, or you can try to install the Windows 7 drivers.

Here is the Windows 7 drivers for the Software HP MediaSmart Live TV and the TV Tuner driver, they should both be installed.

I hope this helps, please let me know.

  • Problems upgrading from Vista Home Basic to Vista Ultimate.

I have a Dell pc came with Vista Home Basic (currently the SP2). I bought (the store) DVD Vista Ultimate Upgrade (SP1). I tried to do an UPGRADE, I prefer NOT to do a fresh install, and he says the upgrade (part) has been disabled and I need to upgrade to a version of Windows that is more recent than the version that I am running. I thought that Vista Ultimate IS an UPGRADE to Vista Home Basic? Both are 32-bit. Any thoughts? (FYI... I don't want to upgrade to Windows 7 at the moment).

    Hello

Your problem is with the Service Pack level; not the version of Vista.

The installed operating system has SP2 installed, but the upgrade disc does that SP1 is installed.

That's why you get this message because SP2 is a newer version than SP1.

Uninstall SP2 > do the upgrade for Ultimate > reinstall SP2
