Validation of best backup practice 11 GR 2 on Windows

Hi all

I read just grace to guides on the verification of different types of corruption on my database. It seems that after having DB_BLOCK_CHECKSUM the TYPICAL value is supported by a large part of the physical corruption and will alert you to the fact that it occurred. In addition, default RMAN makes its own audit of physical block. Logical corruption however does not seem to be controlled automatically unless the CONTROL LOGIC is added to the RMAN command. There are also different VALIDATE commands that could be executed on different objects.

My question is really, what is recommended for the control of block corruption. Even people not worth regularly checking cela and allow just Oracle manage itself, or it is recommended to have the command CHECK LOGIC in RMAN (even if it is not added by default when you set up backup through OEM jobs) or people schedule jobs and output reports to a VALIDATE command on a regular basis?

Thank you very much

For use CHECK clause LOGIC is regarded as best practice by the Support of Oracle at least according to

    Hi BobBianconi,

    (1) since when are you facing this problem?

    (2) what backup program do you use?

It seems that you use non-Microsoft backup software. If this is true, you can check with the provider of software for known problems.

The following steps can worth a try:

Method 1: Run the fixit available in the link below for common system maintenance tasks.

    Note:
Fixit would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of data loss from that particular area.

  • Best backup solution

    Hi all

There was some disk space issues in one of the servers with database development, so the network team had moved the table spaces and other files, but the database crashed after what they handed over the files. When I checked the database it was assembled so I opened it and I am able to perform operations without any problems.

But I'm sure that I stop my database and commissioning it give me some problems.

So I wanted some suggestons to know what is the best method of backup taken so that I do not lose any data. I can't configure rman I need to create a database of rman which will cause space problems.

I thought export data of all users, something like

    exp userid = < schema_owner/password > FILE = < Filename >... exp owner = (user1, user2) etc...

It of the best method I can adopt, please suggest.

    appreciate your help,
    Kind regards

RMAN is the best choice, but you cannot perform because of space issues.

    exp user/pwd@db full file = Y = log =

    or the fastest way

use datapump (expdp) If you have enough space.

    You can try

    Transportable tablespace as well.

In your situation, I can chose this option
    Hot backup

Take the tablespace in backup mode.
Copy all data files associated tablespace to remote destination.
    Take end tablespace backup;
do this for all areas of storage.

  • Best backup

    Thanks in advance

    Hello
I would recommend that a power surge protected outlet, even if your laptop will use a power transformer when it is connected to your AC so it is more likely that the transformer would be damaged in the event of lightning or other overvoltage.

The other area of concern would be your connection to broadband or Modem which is another possible source of damage caused by lightning. I would say a microfilter ADSL of good quality at a minimum, even if personally I would disconnect completely during an electrical storm.

  • Calendar beat for clip - best workflow practices?

    Hi all

I am currently working on a short video that must be programmed to music. Of course, in some ways, a tool like Final Cut or Prime Minister would be more suited to the task in a certain way, but for reasons of the technical specification of the production, it must be done in After Effects.

    beatmark.png

So I try to nail a good workflow to time the various elements of the project to the beat of the music. I've done so far is, I developed the waveform of the original tape so I can get some raw visuals on where obvious changes occur. See the screenshot to the left. I placed a marker on the right framework where arrives the drum call, where I don't want to do something cool with the video.

It is obviously of limited use, because even if the rhythm coincides with one of the peaks of the waveform, it does not look at who it would be. Also, it is not possible to determine the exact framework on which the beat happens using this method, because each peak is several frames long, and includes several elements of the audio.

The next thing I tried was so simply to listen to the track with RAM Preview and pressing on the * key to place markers on the soundtrack to the beat. Some of you are perhaps better to the rhythm games that I could hope to be, but I find that while this allows asking a large number of markers quickly, it is very inaccurate.

Which is very good, expect - I couldn't get all the markers on the right framework for the first time, but I can go back and drag some images, right? But the problem here is with Visual and audio scrubbing with the playhead. When you RAM Preview, the playhead does not refresh on all images - it updates every seven or eight images or so. Which means that if I look at the calendar to see if my markers are in the right place, I can't say when the playhead passes over it.

So instead, I hold down the Ctrl key and rub. This kinda works, but the audio is quite rough and discontinuous. As such it is difficult to get an idea of each framework as part of the song and even if I do hear a heartbeat, it is difficult to recognize as such (this technique works best in Final Cut somehow, for some reason, he manages to rub while sounding less discontinuous). So what I do is I have a picture, I think that could possibly be the rhythm, and I hold Ctrl and left click on the playback head, which makes a loop a short (five images?) segment of the audio. Then I do the same thing for a few images before and after, just to ensure that I targeted the right frame. Now, finally, I have the marker in the right place for a single beat.

There must be a better way.

I wonder if anyone has faced this problem found a workflow more efficient? I think that it might be a sheet of I could use a software that allows me to go through the audio and place markers better - and then I can somehow export marker data in After Effects? Or maybe another workflow I didn't think.

    Your thoughts?

Cut with precision to the beats music is usually a simple matter of math. Most of the music, especially the music with a strong beat, turns to a certain number of beats per minute. It is generally easy to understand. There are moments where you have a tempo change or a Fermata, ACC., or retirement or a change, they are usually for a short period and easy enough to fix. Understand the tempo and you about 90%.

Another tool that I use quite often is Sound Keys of Trapcode. It is much more versatile that use bed convert audio to keyframes.

If I have a fairly long segment that has a bunch of beats fast beats I will sometimes create a solid small, add the hue and saturation to the solid game to colorize, add this expression to colorize hue - index * 140, cut the length of the layer to the length of time, then duplicate the layer for bat as much as I want to cover , the layers in sequence and then use this sequence of layer as a guide. The configuration looks like this:

You can also use an expression loopOut on rotation to rotate a small layer SAY 45 degrees on each beat. By example, if you had a heartbeat every 20 frames together 3 hold keyframes, one on the first image of 0º, the frame of 20 to 40 ° then put a 40 chord to 0º and simply add the expression loopOut("cycle") of rotation. Now the small cube could give way to a different angle on each beat.

These tips will help you with some quick cuts just the pace but let me give you some tips on cutting to music I've learned 42 years ago (Yes, I'm an old man) when I was learning to edit music to my first job in the film. My mentor had been in business since 1952, had worked as an editor on a ton of feature films and a bunch of advertisements. He told me that if you simulate with precision the rate, which was pretty easy to find and mark with a pencil on stock mag, wax your cuts will look out of sync. The problem with this precision, is that the eye and the ear are not precisely synchronized. The time advance or delay depends on the shooting, where shooting takes your eye, where the Cup move your eye and creates the atmosphere of the music. The best technique is to listen to music and place markers that you type on the beat. In the old days, I did it by tapping a pencil of wax on the mag stock as he crossed the Steenbeck or Moviola, today I do by tapping the * key, then I cut and adjust the cutoff point for shooting dictate when the music and the rhythm line up with emotion. You will get a better result, and your work will go much quicker that fussing around trying to harmonize the beat with each cut. I changed my cuts as much as 4 or 5 images forward or back to fight for the sequence feel.

I use two techniques that I listed above for cutting short segments of very tight cuts and help to save time, but his definition of the resolution of your car model and the Zoom factor of your computer at 25%, the ram preview for "today", and simply cut the pace by usability will give you a much more pleasant and emotional response to your sequence as precisely and mathematically exactly matching the beat. The last piece of advice I can give you on the music of Cup is to make the first cut, then walk away at least a half hour, then come back and look what you did. You'll instantly see where you have to make adjustments and it will take less than half of the time to cut your sequence.

  • best backup strategy for the hotel management system

    Hello
I have a fresh dba and I need to set a backup strategy for a HOTEL of Mr. must be available 24/7.
Kindly help me and let me know if you need additional information.

In your case the most appropriate b/s is with Rman. For this, you need to enable the database to archivelog mode. Each time, you need to copy past files archivelog (and rman full backup of database if you wish) generated after that full backup rman was made. Realize you must have as a minimum a full backup rman, all archivelogfiles has been generated since that time.
There is also another way to take backup: hot backup. (read more in documentation Ora). But be aware that this will affect database performance while the backup is taken. And it would be a little more difficult for you.
But if you're not allowed to activate mode archive so the only way is to take the datapump files each time.

  • Pro - best commercial practices Edition

    Hi guys,.

It's time to comment here, and I would like your opinion on this issue. I spent the last 2 months on learning the DPS on mine and thanks the belle of this Forum. (Thank you all!)

We are about to buy a Pro edition license in order to attend a customer who wants to publish an app multi-question (a quarterly magazine). After asking price and have a discussion with representatives of DPS to the Brazil, we discovered that "several apps questions needs to feed constantly by a DPS license" for it available for download on Amazon/Play/App Store. That's what I got:

    (1) if buy us a license now and if you decide not to renew next year, all applications of number of questions made during this period would be lost.

    (2) If you buy a license now, he would have finished in November 2013. If we buy an accomplishment (say 25 000 commit) in June 2013, we would lose that too from November, because several apps questions are all hosted in servers of Adobe and the only way to keep available and work apps Stores is to continue to pay the DPS license.

If that is correct, I must say it's quite unfair. If the actual price of the DPS platform is based on costs for 'plugins package' + 'host', when the license ends, we should be able to pay (at least) just the price of 'accommodation '!

Could someone clarify/confirm that and give us insight into what would be a good practice on how to provide services using Adobe DPS?

For what I understand on another discussion: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4053867#4053867 , we should better ask customers to purchase all licenses and certificates (including DPS, iOS/Android Dev / Dist certs) and recharge just design/development/production costs. (?)  But cost DPS, which is not affordable/viable for some customers.

How SME or Start-up manage that? I would be grateful to those who might share their practice and experience.

    Kind regards!

    (1) if buy us a license now and if you decide not to renew next year, all applications of number of questions made during this period would be lost.

    • Your application would still be in the App store and users who have already downloaded content can still visualize it, however, Adobe will stop hosting your Folios and users will not be able to download the numbers not downloaded or re - download all the problems.

    • Yes, you need an active subscription of DPS to make it work.

If that is correct, I must say it's quite unfair. If the actual price of the DPS platform is based on costs for 'plugins package' + 'host', when the license ends, we should be able to pay (at least) just the price of 'accommodation '!

    • The point has already been discussed earlier, and I do not think that this would be any time soon.
    • In case you do not want to renew your subscription, go to sheltered within applications unique instead of Multi question apps, you can go ahead and opt for Creative Cloud subscription. Where applications Multi-Miu is the only option for you, then you will need to renew your subscription DPS.
  • New OEM SSD - what is best backup/upgrade? (SD7SN3Q256G1002 - Zenbook UX305FA)

Bought Asus Zenbook UX305FA-USM1 with this SanDisk model M.2 SSD 256Go (search here the text "peripheral storage"; or "and M.2 SSD module" for SSD in the photo).  This is my first experience with SSD and I'm more than a little impressed!

But I worry about SSD and might like to have an image clone SSD ready at any time to replace the factory unit.  But a call to technical support phone SanDisk could not immediately recommend a replacement but rather suggested to contact Asus first for their recommendation.  So I come here first for suggestions.  A capacity of about 256 GB is sufficient for me, especially since the largest units seem to be out of my price range.

I'm still learning about new connections since the old days of IDE... but I think this isn't "M2", SATA III (?).  By the look of it, it's a 80mm in length.

I'll probably have follow-up questions, so I'll leave my question to that for now...  Any suggestions? ... anyone with experience?

SanDisk does not sell a SSD m2 to the retail, so he would not have a SanDisk SSD you can buy separately for your computer. Now that said if your computer has a 2.5 SATA port "or a port MSATA form factor of SanDisk options there but m2 is not sold at retail.

  • Best survey practice: tiering with different types of storage drives

    Hello

We recently received a new SAN Equallogic, and I am deciding the implementation. Our first unit (currently only one member in a swimming pool) is a PS4100 with 24x600GB 10K SAS. The new unit is a PS4210 with 12x4TB 7.2 K NL SAS.

Should I leave units in separate classes in the same group and cut new LUNS? Should I add the PS4210 in the existing pool and use the Storage Tiering?

I'm a little hesitant to how Storage Tiering will work, I read a little when the mixture of types of disks, storage tiering will be balanced on the ability, and most of the i/o load will hit the higher capacity of SAN.

Any contribution is appreciated. The storage is used for the storage of data VMFS with vSphere 5.5 cluster. Run EQL firmware 8.1.0 on both units.

    Hello

Either will work.   As a general rule, speaking of small members 10K / 15K mix with very large 7.2 K members RPM can reduce the effectiveness of the fastest disks.  As more data on the largest Member.  This is especially true if they carry the same RAID type.

I would start with them in their own pools.  Later, you can merge two pools quite easily.  The other way is more complex.  Since you need to remove a member, leaving the data in the original pool.  Then you can move volumes of the new pool.

Also, please check Dell TR1091.  It explains how to configure the storage w/EQL ESXi.

    en.Community.Dell.com/.../Download

A small change that has not been added that TR is the NOOP_TIMEOUT value.  The document shows you how to change the LOGIN_TIMEOUT value to 60.  In this menu is the NOOP_TIMEOUT, which gets the value of 30 seconds.

Finally, make sure that the virtual machines themselves are configured with their disk values set on 60 seconds Timeout.

With the EQL Firmware download is a PDF entitled ' iSCSI initiator and optimize your SAN environment for high availability of the OS considerations "which explains how to make the necessary changes.

  • What are the best practices to install drivers for Windows 7-64 bit?

I have HP Pavilion dv6-1115e laptop, which Windows Vista was the original OS. Recently I upgraded to Windows 7-64 bit version, but I still use pilots who originallay came for Windows Vista (no problem at all for the moment). Now I have thoughts of installing drivers that are specifically for Windows 7 64 bit to improve performance. So what I need to first uninstall each software driver and then install the new versions OR I can install them without deleting the previous versions? It would lead to a kind of shock?

    Hello:

Normally you can just update the drivers without uninstalling existing, unless the installation instructions will tell you to do.

Some driver packages will automatically uninstall the old drivers before installing new.

More simply install on the current criteria. I rarely uninstall drivers before updating them.

After you update a driver, you must always check the tab driver in the Device Manager for the device that you updated to ensure that the new driver installed. You can check this tab before update and then after you updated to note the date/version of the pilot before and the driver date and version later.

If for some reason, there was no change, then I uninstall the current driver and try reinstalling the newest one.

    Others may have different opinions.
