VDisk consuming too much disk space

I am running the latest beta with Win7 64 bit for host and client.

In the client, my main drive looks like this size:

client_disk_size.JPG

If you do the math (99, 9-56, 2 = 43.7), my virtual disk should consume ~ 44 GB of disk space. However, it is more close to 83GB (and growing).

size_on_host.JPG

When I try to clean the drive, I get a message that the disc is used 79.8 GB and can not be cleaned everything again.

So, I used the compact function, and after 30 minutes ended, he doesn't drive OVER 4 GB, small.

It is a problem for me because I have little disk space on my fastest drive where I keep the customer files for obvious reasons. Help please?

Did a little more digging. Apparently, this update from McAfee that you see last week, 19, included a feature to encrypt my hard drive. I don't know why this would have caused a problem today (and not in the last week), but I wonder whether a hard drive that is encrypted in the virtual machine, which means my entire 100 GB should get distributed.

  • Firefox consumes too much RAM, caused by js

I have problems with Firefox consumes too much memory RAM. Many people are complaining about this, but I have done some additional research before posting here, using the about command: memory and I discovered that js-no-window and js-main-runtime are the cause.

When I start an empty Firefox session I immediately an allowance of 260 MB of RAM. About 75-80% this is taken up by these two processes of js (javascript?).

After opening about 10 tabs with different Web pages, the use of the RAM went up to about 750 MB. During the time that the tabs are open most of the extra of the MB are consumed by the window objects (40 MB per page, yet much seems to just a news with an article site...) but after their closing will not use of memory to the bottom and he transferred to the two already mentioned js process. This transfer to the js process is not always the case, it seems to happen if I open a lot of tabs, let's say 10 + maybe.

I tried to disable Javascript using the SettingSanity plugin, but makes navigation difficult at home of course and the worst of all this does not solve the problem. Specified processes continue to use the same amount of RAM.

I have this same problem on all my computers and laptops, so it can't be a coincidence. Is there anything I can do about it? It is being investigated? How a browser with 10 open web pages may need almost 800 MB of RAM?

And please don't reply not to "install more RAM". The pc with the fact that I have more problems has 2 GB of physical RAM and I really don't think it is possible on a computer of this logon type 10 web pages. Do the same thing in Internet Explorer consumes less than half the amount of memory RAM.

PS: I sent this request using IE because I could ' t access this page in Firefox. The button 'Ask the question' did not work...

I have 2 GB Ram too and can open up to 20-30 tabs before slowing down. Maybe it could be an addon like Adblock more which can cause the memory leak.

Also in this article is to disable hardware acceleration, which can reduce the CPU and RAM use on some systems (if it doesn't, turn it back on).

When I delete the file .tar content server retrieved 27 GB of disk space on the content server.
So I guess my .tar file is 27 GB of disk space on the content server.

The size of the .tar file is displayed in the page content as 14FR information.
Any suggestion why .tar file of your extra space on the content server.

The content server can be set up to maintain a readable version of web to a file. For example, word documents checked and converted to pdf retaining both versions and taking up extra space.

An easy way to stop it on a basis of files is to use the replacement file field when checking it. Put a text or html Readme file to the replacement file to describe the war file or file zip or exe or anything that is not normally visible web.

The CS can be defined to the server only keep the original file also. or a copy of the file with any version of web.

  • How much disk space will install and run creative cloud?

Thinking about buying a Mac book pro and I was wondering what size hard disk to get, how will use creative cloud during installation?

There is an indication of the size of the files for the installers here:

Direct download links of Adobe CC 2014: 2014 creative cloud release | ProDesignTools

Any standard Mac will have plenty of hard disk space to run the software Cloud.

A bigger problem is how much space you need to store your data files (the files that you create with the cloud software), especially if you do a lot of audio or video.

  • Photomerge of Photoshop 5.1 - eat too much HD space

I am often photomerging of large sets of RAW images (8 up to 30 images at once).  Yesterday I photomerged 25 images (each image is about 14Mo) together.  Before the photomerge ran, I got 35 GB of available disk space.  After the Photomerge finished and after having saved it, I got 8 GB of free space left.  The recorded image has been total approximately 880 MB.  Think that the space will be recovered after that I have quit Photoshop and emptied the trash, I had only 27 GB of HD.

Therefore, my 8 GB of disk space is where?  35 GB 27 GB, after you save a file that is 880MB.  After restarting my computer and verify that the Recycle Bin has been emptied, my HD space was still at 27 GB.

It's scratch them your Photoshop files.  Close Photoshop and space should be released.  If not, the next time you run Photoshop it must clean up.

But, always, not matter how much he claims Adobe.

If your Scratch disks, as defined in your preferences - Performance, start with your boot drive, look in your TEMP folder for these giant remains.  If another reader, look in the root folder.

They will have names of the form Temp31713933688 in Photoshop (where the number varies).  But they are hard to miss because of their size.  If Photoshop is not running, you can freely remove these.

Moreover, I did yesterday a Photomerge who has used a total of 109 GB of space to work.  I saw him go as high as 200 front.

You can consider getting another drive hard if you want to make big Photomerges.  The SSD is declining in priceand can make a GREAT reader of scratch.

  • How much disk space for RT OS

    Hi all

RT OS (office) has a problem: If the disk is full RT OS does not start.

So I have to limit the volume of output of my RT application file to a reasonable value.

To do that I read the free space on the disk with the start of my application (via GetFreeDiskSpaceEx), so that I can enshure this MY apllication will not write more data than the amount of available space (for example by removing old data).

But I don't know how much space the operating system disk will need during the race.

Can someone tell me a value to calculate with?

    Thanks in advance!

    Yeti0815

A general rule is that the OS needs about 25 MB of storage for temporary files, .ini, similar persistent storage files.  Don't suck your consumption below 25 MB and you should be able to minimize your surprises.

NOTE: This figure was obtained empirically by not-so-very rigorous tests.  Your mileage may vary.

the first query uses the predicate "XDT_DOCTYPE" = "PURCHASEORDER" to determine the order of the index IDX_XDT_N7, which needs to be scanned, and uses the other predicates to filter most of the index blocks. The second query uses an INDEX SKIP SCAN without consider the first column of the index IDX_XDT_N4 and use the predicates for the following columns ('a'. ("XDT_DOCOWNERPAYPK"= 1202829132 AND "XDT_DOCTYPE" = "PURCHASEORDER") to get a much more selective access (reading only 330 blocks instead of > 60 K).

I think that there are two possible options to improve performance:

    1. If the creation of a new index is an option, you can define an index on the table A (xdt_doctype, xdt_docownerpaypk, xdt_createdt)
    2. If the creation of a new index is not an option, you can use an indicator of INDEX SKIP SCAN (INDEX_SS (an IDX_XDT_N4)) to order the CBO to use the second index (without a hint the CBO tends to ignore the possibility of using a SKIP SCAN in a join of NL). But with production advice is rarely a good idea... 11g you could you baselines sql to avoid these indications in the code.
