VeriStand missing in Simulink blocks

There are two computers I meet currently on this problem. I installed matlab + simulink then all my software from national instruments, including simulink interface toolkit anf NI Veristand 2009. I didn't completely install matlab before installing any software of NOR. I've done it before with other computers and everything worked. This time however the veristand blocks are missing in simulink. One of the computers that what happens on is 64-bit. It has 64-bit matlab (I couldn't get 32-bit matlab to install; according to mathworks 32-bit ML under 64 bit OS is not supported, but should work; See link below) and 32-bit NV. could it be a problem? The other computer is running a 32 bit OS. I tried to reinstall completely Veristand and blocks are still missing. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Hello Jon VT,

It seems you could faces two different problems.  The first being that NI VeriStand is a 32-bit process and therefore cannot communicate with Simulink of 32 bits.

Second, NI VeriStand updates some files during installation that can sometimes be marked read-only, so it is necessary to do updates yourself for these features.  This is described in the help topic communication with the NI VeriStand Server.

Hope this helps,

  • the parameter mapping constant to a control block Veristand simulink block

    Hello

I'm trying take a simple model of an RL circuit in simulink (build a DLL) and control of the constant blocks in Veristand to dynamically change the value of R and L constant through Veristand Slider indicator or digital. I can see the output of the model run, based on the initial values that I have loaded, but I'm not able to mapping of these parameters to any digital control.

Any thoughts on how to do this!

    Hey, Trever,.

You must use a command of calibration model to interact with parameters, and not a digital control.

    Take care!

  • Tutorial of 2014 VeriStand missing Info

The tutorial VeriStand 2014 said to add a custom flag called "Helicopter (3dView)" which is a LabVIEW control 3D image containing a 3D animation of the helicopter which is based on this tutorial.  However, it doesn't tell you how to add a custom indicator or where to find this 3D photo "Helicopter (3dView) control indicator.

I looked around the VeriStand workspace and I can't find anywhere that says custom controls or indicators.  Also, I looked in the files on the disk for the helicopter 3D above without success indicator.

EDIT: I opened the solution in phase than i and he could not load the 3D model and the digital slider (which I did not).

Fix is in place. Re download, uninstall and then reinstall

  • Using Simulink in Veristand for Dummies

I'm still new to Veristand and even recent Matlab/Simulink...at less their latest incarnations.  Does anyone know a good resource "Simulink for Dummies" online?  Especially suitable for someone who is going to need to generate the code in such a manner to Veristand can make use.  I hesitate to ask for example of code, that I frown on that, but I'm really just interested in the methodology, not the code itself.

    Dan M.

    Hi Dan,.

For information began, you will find very useful information in aid of NI VeriStand here and here. The time when we see the biggest problems is a function S faces she who calls in custom code that can run on a system in real-time (usually a DLL dependency problem) of NOR. There are times that you can use an add-in you is a model that will enable mapping to 3rd party hardware. In this case, you want to replace the input/output with VeriStand In and Out blocks so that you can use VeriStand to map material (e.g. CAN).

  • Difference between Simulink Inport and Veristand Inport

I made a simple Simulink model which used default Outport and InPort Simulink and managed to import into Veristand and deploy on RT target successfully.  Recently, I noticed that I have a specific available Veristand in my simulink Library Browser.

    Anyone know the difference?

VeriStand outport and inport offers two additional features:

    1. you can place an inport or outport VeriStand in a subsystem, and they turn into inputs and outputs in the model that you can map directly to VeriStand, rather than block or out to the subsystem itself.

    2. If you do co-simulation (runs the MDL file directly instead of build in a DLL and running in VeriStand), you can use the VeriStand inports and outports to communicate properly. Since you are a model of compiling and deploying on an RT target, this use case does not apply to you.

  • 7520 photosmart all-in-in-one: blocks of color missing and streaked on diagnosis

    Hello

My printer is no longer printing, currently indicating that there is a "printer failure". No other code. I ran through all the steps of troubleshooting online, but still it does not work. I ran a diagnostic print quality and the black 'block' is missing and the "block" photo is ridged. The cartridges are new and clean. There is no "clean printhead" option in the menu on the printer display. Only "cartridges clean', which I finished. The cartridges have been checked and it the orange tab is not on and are deep-set.

The printer has been enabled or disabled. The problem still persists.

    Thanks for any help available!

    Hi SA999,

I appreciate all the troubleshooting you have already done so and want help to see if we can solve this problem.

I suggest to use the following document to resolve the problem. Troubleshooting print quality problems

If the problem persists, take a look at this video, you can find very useful. Hot water rinse printhead - HP ink printers of the series with removable printhead.

If the problem persists, I suggest to call HP.  Even if the printer is maybe more warranty, HP may be able to offer something. Maybe they can offer a discount on a newer model, or discuss the option to replace the print head!

  • enhancement request on the distance to block registration

Write code to process the information in the tables 'detail', i.e. potentially multirecord forms tables with a probable relationship of foreign key to a table or field also iin the shape, is a bit problematic currently. As far as I know the only one
to be in block A and to gain knowledge on what is in the block B is to 'go' and this is the navigation and it is limited. We need a way to read and write information from documents in the other blocks without navigation (and the name of the block and fields must be dynamic).

for example: get_block_record_field ('BLOCKB', 3, 'FIELDC'), something like this? (In this case, returns the value of fieldc in)
third record in blockB [return - 1 for no more record].

for example: set_block_record_field ('BLOCKB', 3, 'FIELDC', ' 42 ") something like this? (In this case, sets the value of fieldc
in 3 minutes of blockB at 42.

Another idea on the blocks: prevention in double automatic. Form have a property that indicates whether the value is, and then when he gets the message he will complain about records with primary keys in double or missing in this block. Thus, for example, before the update/insert duplicate key / missing check code could be activated to indicate the user to do something about the problem, move the cursor to the first block with the problem. (So they could settle things and then try to save the data again.)

I like the first idea. I need to think about the second.

Regarding the idea of having a GET_BLOCK_RECORD_FIELD, sort of already have this in GET_ITEM_INSTANCE_PROPERTY. What is currently lacking is the ability to return the value in the field, which is what I assume you want. Right? So, what should be added is something like this:

    GET_ITEM_INSTANCE_PROPERTY ("emp.empno", 3, VALUE);

Or create a new top like this:
    GET_ITEM_INSTANCE_VALUE ("emp.empno", 3);

    Hello

    Welcome to the forum.

You missed a BEGIN block after the IS. Between IS and BEGIN, you declare your variables.

And the parameter should be the NUMBER instead of number (3).

Do you get an error message when you tried to run your code?

    Hello

3.1 Fusion running on 10.6.4 and I have a Windows 7 virtual machine that does not start. Fails with the message:

Reason: the specified virtual disk must be repaired.

    ..

I tried to import the virtual machine to another virtual machine, and it fails with the same message.

    Thank you

    Mark

It turns out that the file is missing only one block of 64K at the end, who could probably get written when the system blocked. Therefore very little loss of data.

Please make a backup of Windows 7 - s013.vmdk (or the VM around just to be sure). Then run the following command to add a block of 64K of zeros at the end of the file:

    dd bs=64k count=1 oseek=15742 conv=notrunc if=/dev/zero of="/Users/markburgess/Documents/Virtual Machines/Windows 7.vmwarevm/Windows 7-s013.vmdk"

The new file size should be 1031733248 bytes. Try to run the virtual machine with the fixed file and download the new vmware.log if there another error (it is possible that the other files of measure were also corrupt).

I recommend you do a check disk Windows complete with chkdsk /f as soon as it is running, to make sure it gets repaired if necessary.

  • Veristand Simulink model initialization

VeriStand 2013 has now the ability to initialize the settings of the Simulink model (reference: signals and initial Conditions in a Simulink model mapping).

The question is: is it possible via API in LabVIEW calls?  I would like the user to be able to select the name of the initialization file in my host code.

I have a temporary workaround to have the file name selected by the user copied to a temporary location / name defined in VeriStand System Explorer, but it is certainly not an elegant solution.

Currently, the only way to change the parameter values by default for a system definition is:

    1. update the system definition to point to a different file.

    2. switch to update the contents of the file that is already stated in the system definition.

#2 looks like the simpler approach recommended for your use case.

One thing that might make your solution a little easier would be to use the index function in the template parameter initialization file. What you can do is the following:

    1. (optional) create. that various pattern files of calibration in advance you want to test. Name them sub1.txt, sub2.txt, etc. (or name them as you wish).

2 configure your system definition to point to a calibration of empty template file named Main.txt.

    3. prior to deploying your system definition, change the main.txt file to add the following line (assuming that commas here because it's hard to type tabs in a web browser):

    Subscript,c:\whatever\sub1.txt

You can also have multiple index files if you want to mix and match. Simply add extra lines.

The advantages of this approach are:

    (a) you can easily use the pre-established model calibration files.

    (b) you don't have to copy the files autour

    (c) the write file you need to do before you deploy is very very simple.

  • Veristand does co with target rt (pxi) and simulink simulation

Veristand supports simulation of co with target RT (pxi) and simulink MDL... If he is well wanted to share me partners implementation document

(Note: we have already implemented .dll depending on model)

Only the PC engine can do directly co-simulation with Simulink. You cannot use a MDL file directly on a target of RT. This type of co-simulation is certainly not in real time and is not suitable to run on an RT target that performs other urgent tasks. You can have multiple targets in your system definition, then you might have an RT target and a target PC. But you need means of communication between the two target types. Which may include a model or a custom device.

  • race model slightly differently in Veristand and Simulink

    Hello

    I have a model containing a c s-function code.

The model works well in Simulink, where the s function is also compiled to a mexw32.

Then a dll is generated for Veristand 2011 using RTW and the veristand.tlc.

Veristand, the results are the same as in Simulink. But at some point, I have a digital error in the s function due to a non convergence of the Solver. (the s function has its own not fixed Solver inside). This error is not present in Simulink with the function s mexw32.

I tried to run this dll in pharlap deployment both on the deployment mode of Windows on a PXI system. I have the same results on the digital an incongruence, so the problem seems to be the way that the dll is compiled.

What could be the reason for a different behavior in Simulink and Veristand?

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you.

I see that the original post is quite old and it might have already been resolved, but my team has worked through similar problems for a few months.  First thing to check would be the version compatibility.  Do not forget that even until NIVS 2012, only RTW 2008 is officially supported.

  • How to create a DLL from a .mdl file model to use on veristand simulink

    Hi all

I want to create a .dll file from a simulink model .mdl file. I created a simple "Sample.mdl" file that adds two entries and gives the result.

Before you build the .dll, I tried to run file .mdl veristand. Here, I got the below error.

Method 1: I tried to create a DLL out of it by going to the Simulation-> settings-> workshop in real-time. Here I tried to change the target file system to NIVeriStand.tlc, but I'm not able to see that in the system target file browser dialog box. Can anyone tell me the reason behind that.

    Then I tried method 2.

Method 2: I created this .mdl C code using grt.tlc in the Simulation-> settings-> workshop in real-time. I clicked on 'build' button, then he created C equivalent for this code. Using Microsoft visual C++, I tried to generate the .dll file, but I have the following errors.

Can someone help me on this please. My goal is to launch this model with veristand eithor in.dll or .mdl file format

    Thank you
