VI Client and VMware Server 2

Can someone explain the relationship between the client native windows VI and VMware Server 2?  At the present time, I am not able to login to VMware Server 2 product outside the Web access.   Agent VI does not provide any real comments on why it cannot establish a connection.  Usig VMware Server 1.X console I can generate an error of "" 501 overall GLOBAL server agent nonhost command targets not supported. ""  With the VI client I get connection error... From a shell, I can telnet to the server on port 904 (the port I have set up on) and get the connection. I tried to put in hostame.domain.com:904 in the VI client IP/name field and the ipaddress: 904. I don't know what is the version of the VI client, because there is no indicator.

You must log in via hostname:8333 in the VIClient.

  • Software and Vmware Server 2.0.2

    Hello

In our project, we still have a legacy VMware Server 2.0.2 and I would like to know how it is affected (if any) by software. Y at - there a patch available? or any workaround that I have to ask?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello

VMware server 2 is end of live for 2011...

So, no official patch vmware will be available.

Maybe if you search the web, you'll find something.

You should take in mind for migrating from vmware server to another vmware product.

In any case, if your vmware server is not directly connected to the INTERNET, the risk should not be so high.

  • Allocation of memory and VMware Server 2

    Hello world

I have a box of material with 12 GB of physical memory on this OS W2K 2003 32 bits (4 GB limit). My question is: if I install VMware Server 2 in this scenario, I'll be able to allocate remaining 8 GB of physical mem for my virtual machines. What performance in this scenrio? I'd like to run two virtual machines (2003 data backup server and backup exchange server) 4 GB each.

Thank you much for the help.

    NO.

Since your host is limited to 4 GB, you cannot allocate more than that.

You should better install a 64 bit OS host if you want to use all of the memory, if your hardware supports.

  • Have to install the CAD Client AND the server software on the Windows Client computer

    Hello

I have a problem during the installation of the customer Oracle Data Warehouse Administration Console (DAC) on my Windows x 86 client computer.

    Architecture

    Applications server - A Machine (Informatica 8.6.0 + fix 4.0 & DAC 10.1.3.4.1 services) = Linux RHEL 64-bit
Basis of data server - Machine B (application Oracle BI OBAW data warehouse) = Linux RHEL 64-bit
    Client - Machine C (BI Apps 7.9.6 + Informatica customer customer 8.6.0 CAD) = Windows x 86 32 bit)

    Question

I had planned to install ONLY the DAC 10.1.3.4.1 customer on my 32-bit x 86 Windows client machine, as the CAD 10.1.3.4.1 server must be installed on Linux which is installed the Informatica PowerCentre 8.6.0 server application layer.

However, when I run the Oracle Universal Installer, installation options are greyed out and I have to install the Client and server products.

I don't want to do that. Why am I made to install both? Is there a solution?

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Have a great day.

    Kind regards
    Gary

Customer installation support DAC only on Windows is to copy the executable files of the area where you installed CAD using the Installer (say another windows box).

If you install the CAD by using the Setup program on the area where you don't want the client of the DAC, it will also install server DAC. In this case, your client DAC can be confused to
connect to the local server of DAC, so better avoid to install DAC and copy the executable files for the client computer DAC. Customer of the DAC must also the odbc14.jar and Informatica customer files
    to connect to Informatica.

  • External, the customer table, visible directory on the client and the server, doable?

    Hi guys,.

My client wants to use the method of the outer table of the client machine.

Version Oracle db 11.2.0.3, client (sqlplus) version 11.2.0.1.0, AIX operating system

The file system directory in which resides the csv file is made as directory database and it is visible/reading / writing on both servers.

Create table user operating system that is running has read - write access to this directory and the database user has read write in the database directory.

I can do db server load, but not from the server where the client is installed. Gives the error below.

    ERROR on line 1:
ORA-29913: error in executing ODCIEXTTABLEOPEN legend
    ORA-29400: data cartridge error
    Error opening file
    / wload/ga5t/GPFS/App/Env10/Oracle/oracleloaddirectory/EXT_PRICE_LIST_IMPORT_SC_1
    _9044034.log

No idea how it goes? Is it possible to do this when the db directory and the bone is visible on the client server and db?

    Thank you

    Patricia

    Thanks DK.

The risks has been resolved by changing the id level UNIX for user oracle on the db server and then restart.

  • Install PeopleTools 8,53 Linux question: Windows Client and Linux Server suite

    People,

Hello. I install PeopleTools 8,53 Internet Architecture. Database server is Dabase Oracle 11 GR 1 material. Operating system is Oracle Linux 5. I installed successfully JDK7, WebLogic Tuxedo 11 GR 1 material and PeopleTools 8,53 10.3.6, in Oracle Linux 5.

I've been setting up of database PeopleTools8.53. Because the Wizard installation problem, I created PeopleTools 8,53 database manually using Starter named PT853 Oracle database instance. I have run the following scripts:
    (1) utlspace.sql
    (2) dbowner.sql
    (3) ptddl.sql
    (4) psadmin.sql
    (5) psroles.sql
    (6) connect.sql

Then, we perform Data Mover script in a Windows Client computer to fill the PeopleTools PT853 database machine Linux Sever instance.
I have installed Oracle Database 11 g 2 client for 32-bit Windows in my Windows XP 64-bit. The installed directories are below:

    Server Linux machine:
    Oracle_Home: / home/user/OracleDB_Home
    ORACLE_BASE: / home/user/OracleDB_Base
    PeopleTools 8.53: /Linux/PT8.53

    Windows XP Client computer:
    Oracle_Client: /OracleDB_Client_Install_Directory
    PeopleTools 8.53: /Windows/PT8.53

What machine installed PeopleTools 8.53 in customer Windows, it is a step:

Select the location of the connectivity program directory:

What directory to select? We select the directory ' / home/user/OracleDB_Home "on Linux?
Oracle Client tools in Windows XP "Start" menu is used to connect Windows XP with Linux?

    Thank you.

The answer is «Yes, they use the tools of the Oracle Client installed on Windows XP.» The longer answer is that these client tools communicate with the Linux using TCP/IP database, etc., and exclusive Oracle TNS 'protocol '. This network communication usually occurs on port 1521, but you can configure your server to database for listening on different ports. Alternatively, you can do all kinds of fun things with forwarding port, tunnels, VPNs, etc. for the use of different ports and security protocols. There is much more than that, but basically these Oracle client tools provide utilities communication (drivers) used by PeopleSoft to connect to the database on Linux via the network.

    Help, please.
    Neil

    Hello

Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thank you for the post.

You want to connect your computer to Windows 7 using the Ad hoc network.

I suggest you ask the question about the link given here.

You can see the steps in the link here to set up an Ad Hoc network.

Set up a computer-to-computer (ad hoc) network:

  • Where have the VMWare Server "client / console ' downloads went?

either he had formerly downloads as "VMware-console - 1.0.6 - 91891.exe" who were just the client end.

Such as those mentioned in the: http://pubs.vmware.com/server1/admin/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=admin & file = manage_server.5.6.html

I can't find a download like this for 1.0.8 and I think I'm having a problem of compatibility with 1.0.6.

I don't really need to install the whole invasive Server installation just to get the client for my office.

    Any ideas?

Maybe he underwent a change of name? But I'm not in the lists mentioned in the 'names have changed.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Feeling a little down on our first foray in VMware at this point...

I feel like VMware dropped us in a dead-end street with the strategy that we are...

Same place, that downloads have always been.

Go to the download page for the server.  Click the link to download under Server version 1.0.8.  Accept the EULA.  On the download page, there is a link for the Client Windows VMware Server package.

  • LabVIEW TCP/IP Client and server, I need to send commands and receive comments side server from the client regarding the command sent.

    Hi all

I can configure my two PCs, one as a client and a server very well. I am able to send commands from the server to the client. However, I am trying to determine how I can get feedback from the client to the server that something has changed, or a CQI that the command has been received. How I can do this in LabVIEW with the box to TCP/IP tools, or is there a better way to do it?

    Thanks for your help!

    Best regards

    -Gmac

Once the connection is established, TCP does not care which end is the 'server' and the 'customer '. Data can be sent in both directions using the same read and write functions. So, if you are already able to send data to the client and read on the server, you should be able to do the same to send data from the server to the client, using the same TCP connection.

If this is not clear, please your postal code so that we can provide more specific advice.

  • Impossible to use VMWare Server and Virtual PC at the same time?

I have a Win 7 box I use VirtualPC (unfortunately, VPN to the employer only supports the 32-bit Win XP).

If I try to start any virtual machines using VMWare Server, power on and then immediately off.  Tried several different VMs.

However, if I disable VirtualPC, they all work normally.

Then... there at - it a known issue with the help of Virtual PC and VMWare Server at the same time?

BTW, I didn't see this problem when you use Virtual PC and VMWare Player at the same time.

VirtualPC leaves the CPU of the exploitation of VMX root, which is a restricted mode.  VMware Server is problems to switch between legacy mode and long (this switch is prohibited when the CPU is in VMX root operation).  The current versions of the workstation and the player are able to circumvent this restriction.

  • VMware Server and T-Mobile Huwaei BroadBand Stick

    Hi all

I came across this post in discussions of woskstation and its exactly the same question that I see:

    http://communities.VMware.com/message/1509413

The problem is that I can't turn off the VMware USB Service on my host machine, because there is no. Anyone of you experts can tell me how to disable this in VMware Server please?

Or do you want to know what part of VMware Server may be in conflict with my stick to wide band and advise me on how I can have as much mobile broadband and vmware server running on the same host machine.

    Thanks in advance

the installation of fixing VMserver USB part is not trivial - see

    http://sanbarrow.com/network/cmdguide2workstation.html

who wrote for my computer, but it applies as well to VMserver.

Have you tried to re - install?
