I recovered deleted using recovery software video avi files. The problem is that the index needs to be repaired. The VLC media player is a feature to fix the index by which I can play the videos on the pc. However, the problem is that you cannot save those changes and whenever I want to read the file I have to re-run the index correction program. Also, given that the index is still broken I can't read the files on my video camera. Is there a procedure or a program that can actually repair the index of avi files and allow me to save the patches?

Problem: I import files video .avi and they import audio only. It does not allow me to slide into the slot of the video on the calendar, and it only shows the speaker symbol in the media management area. This is the kind of funny. Previously, I used these files in another session June-July 2009, and they worked fine then. I'm lost and need help! (PLEASE!)

    Perplexed, like a fool

If you look at the CODEC, it's Xvid version open source DivX, just as I suspected. These almost never work forward. The best workflow is to go before the Xvid compression (these are strongly compressed, lose a ton of data and quality), or to convert them to DV - AVI Type II with 16-bit 48 kHz PCM/WAV Audio files. I use DigitalMedia converter, but it is a shareware. Many users singing the praises of the Prism free to do the conversions. I've never used, but many here have and give it a very high rating.

Note: no conversion program cannot recover this loss of data and quality. He is lost and gone forever. That's why my first option was to return before this compression is applied. However, conversion will produce files that can be modified both video and Audio.

    Good luck

    Hunt

[Edit] do know not why/how they worked before. Usually, with the Xvid or DivX CODEC, you will get an error cannot import, or will get Audio or video only. I was never able to change any Xvid or DivX files in pre or PrPro - never, even once. I simply convert, if the client is unable to obtain the original source files, and I have even a diagram of loss of quality to show them how the film will look - not very good, IMHO. I make them sign on this loss of quality, before you start.

Captivate 8 - video integration problems. Video won't play Web server when published under the title of course HTML5 and video is selected to play in the same screen. Play video it works only in a new window. The problem is the customer's requested integrated video and it shows as an option in Captivate 8. In addition, the video screen is not at the same place on the screen, the image moves to the top of the browser window in Internet Explorer. Graphics problems appear ONLY in IE and Chrome for PC. We have updated browsers, installed all updates to Captivate 8 etc.

The issue seems to be with internet explore. The url is *.mp4, if IE browser opens Media player in a new window to read the files.

    Workaround solution:

Instead of using the interaction of the Web object, you can use a Web object (objects-> Web) site in the menu object.

After insertion, select the code incorporated in the style of the real property section. (Screenshot below)

Encapsulate the url in an HTML video tag and use it as input.

I am able to import and read all the photos and AVI files, EXCEPT the AVI files captured with my Canon camera. I can't view using PP CS4. Only the poster image (first image) is displayed in the source monitor and NO movement. Audio plays properly. I play in the timeline panel and same thing, only the first frame is displayed in the program as well as audio monitor. Transitions between clips OK. The same AVI files play correctly agency 2. I imported from others from other sources AVI files, and they all play correctly. I'm confused and need help.

I read a previous possting on this forum 24-02-2010 by Jonespnh and others. Posted here is the output of G-Spot

It seems that the Codec is installed. The project is NTSC.

I'm not familiar with the parameters of CS4 and there is not a lot of Adobe support for users to try/buy. Most of the parameters is same body 2 but cannot go back to check anything because my old XP system with 2 Organization's story.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Great job provide details, and I think that your question has been answered.

A note of your comment on the results of Gspot.  As did "jonesnph" in the other thread, you noted that "the codec is installed."  While a codec is not installed will be important for other reasons, we really are not looking for an installed codec, but what is this codec.  In this case, the fact that it is mjpeg is THE most critical factor.  Even if the codec is installed, first apparently cannot use it.  This isn't a simple analysis, as first can use some extra codecs installed in some cases, but use its own codecs in others.  So you get very frustrating dilemma of a file of reading very well in a player, but not in the first.

I use CS3 and on one machine did not have the codec installed Morgan mjpeg and on the other hand (my main PC of mounting).  However, while I have not installed the "codec packs", I have a few other programs fairly well accepted, and the list of codecs on the PC watch mjpeg codec gspot.  According to me, it comes from the quartz.dll that Microsoft uses for many tasks in the directshow filters.  I can open a mjpeg in first file, play and change.  but it must be made to see a preview, even when I find the best options as I can in the office project settings.

  • Windows Media Player will only play a sound with no video .avi and .mov

I started having a problem where the Windows Media Player will only play the audio portion of my .avi and .mov video files.

These files were created by my FlipCam or my Sony Handycam.

I never had problems until recently and think that it is due to some kind of Windows Update.

Both my computer and my wife's computer had the same problem and we are both using Windows XP Home Edition.

I apologize if this topic already on this forum.

Thanks for any help and advice.

    CoDec = compressor decompressor.
A program is used to compress the file. You then need to unpack the file to play, you need the codec used to compress the file to decompress it on your pc.
You need DVD playing software installed to power the mpeg codec, or you can buy a codec to just run in media player.
AVI is a wrapper and may well contain more than 800 different file types, it has 800 different codecs!  Thus, to read an avi file, you should know what codec was used to do and have that installed on your pc to read.
DV.avi is made with the dv codec, divx.avi is made with the divx codec.
Of course, that manufacturers make their codecs, you must make sure you have the latest being, to be able to read files made with it, so everything just because you downloaded the codec divx 12 months ago does not mean it will play files created with codecs of today!

I hope this explains it is ok for you.

It surprises me that you say that you have downloaded all the updates of altest, but are still running wmp9, where we are now on WMP11 for XP and 12 for win7.

I would update my WMP version first.

Here is a page that will tell you that the codecs are on your pc and who has access to WMP 11.
    http://www.myvideoproblems.com/tutorials/HowToFindCodecs.html

Here is a page that will tell you how to know what codec was used to create the file that you are trying to watch and also if you have the right codec for it
    http://www.myvideoproblems.com/tutorials/AVIcodec.html

It is generally accepted that the codec packs adding is a bad idea, so if you need a codec to read a certain file, google it's manufacturer and just install the one you need.

I would work just on the pc at the same time when you found what the problem is, you can fix on the other 2.

Need more help with this, just ask.

  • Sansa Fuze 4 GB Black / Video Converter problems

For Christmas, I got a 4Gb black Sansa Fuze, I downloaded Sansa Media Converter, Moyea Youtube Downloader, Sansa Updater and all video Converter(trial version) and K-lite codec pack. I tried to get videos on my Sansa Fuze, but when I try to add a video to the converter it says something like lla I can use some help!

"The video cannot be added to your library because Sansa video converter does not support the file you are trying to add, or the file is currupted."

I tried all types of formats (AVI, WMA, etc.) to get the converter to read and I also tried (Mpeg-4, Ogg) and still nothing worked, if the bad codec yet? or maybe it's my converter (Sansa) screwed up in the download?

It does not work because the material is not included in black Sansa rockets to video support.

None! I'm just messin 'with' ya, but I always laugh when I see a poster has to tell us what color is their player. As if it really made a difference, or is relevant to the problem that they encounter you, or that a different diagnoses or an appeal would be dependent on the color of outer case. Probably 60% (or more) of all messages 1 with the new members include this vital information in the first sentence.

Now, to get to your question... have you tried Video4Fuze or FuzeVidz?

  • Vista video codecs problems

I was directed here to ask this question, by admin.
«After that 18 months using Ubuntu, and then buy scammed to ot try a second Windows 7 license my laptop has its origin back to Vista Home Premium.»  It is a recovery disc, it is a Toshiba Equium L40.
After the luxury of Windows 7 and Ubuntu, I'm running many codecs, it seems.  Media Player will not play some files converted avi (my Flip camcorder mp4 files converted) even if it's a Windows thing.  also, when I look in the tabs of the properties of a video file, a flow which should be in the area of 10 000 to 20 000 kbit/s in general, said a tenth of that, where the same file looked in Windows 7 on my desktop pc (genuine license and original media bought from Comet in the United Kingdom) the flow is correct.  I have installed Vista service packs and updates.
Can I fix this easily?  I think I remember try a third-party codec pack once before this resolves things, and I'm also suspicious of the resources these things about viruses etc..  At Microsoft itself corrected this with a trustworthy codec pack perhaps?
    Thank you. »

    Ahmed_Soft3,
I understand that you are not able to play the video in AVI format and your computer crashes until you turn the power off, and that the only other time in this case is when you load the MSN Messenger, is this correct?

I recommend that you check with HP to see what you have installed graphics card. Then visit the graphics card manufacturer's Web site to download their latest display drivers, this can be either a driver compatible Windows 7 or Windows Vista.

Also check that if the video you play may require a software codec to play, this is the case, especially if the .avi format is only a wrapper (title). Rami
