  I don't think it's a general or common problem. I have the Satellite P500 with the NVIDIA card inside. Pre-installed driver is Toshiba 8.16.11.8829 driver version, and I have never notice one problem with display or graphics in general.

  I watch blu - ray movies, very often HD trailers on YouTube, play games (for the time Medal of honor, Black Ops) and everything works perfectly.

  What NVIDIA card is in your laptop and what display driver is installed?

  You should try to use the Toshiba graphics card driver as its use on the drivers from 3rd-party pages could lead to highest GPU temperature that would cause problems.

  So, after messing around I seemed to have discovered to some extent what the problem is, Skype works like 32 x, and the games that appear to be the cause of the problem were x 64, after trying to run one of the games in x 32, Skype ran very well.

  I suggest looking up the keyboard key parameters in the game and reset the default settings, check to see if it helps.

  Also connect another keyboard to the computer and check if it the question persists in the game.
