video on windows movie maker problems

I imported a music performance video compatible h264 Windows Windows Moviemaker to edit it (in a smaller video, using only a part of the longest video).  Then I edited, using the "set point of arrival" features and "set starting point.  It is then saved in a work file (wlmp), which is specific to Windows Moviemaker.  However, when I tried to "Make movie" out of it, and it is converted (I believe in mp4), for some unknown reason while the video part is missing and only now contains audio.  Do you know if I do something wrong?  This clip is long about 4.5 minutes and a live performance.  It takes about 5 minutes to convert wlmp to mp4 file, but again, it lack the video portion.  Any ideas out there?

Something to try that can produce a better result.

Rather than use the features 'set point of arrival' and 'set starting point... "
Try splitting the video on the points where you want to begin and end
and then delete the unwanted parts.

If you continue to have the problem... it can be useful to convert video
to the. Before you import into Movie Maker WMV format.

  • Video length Windows Movie Maker problem automatic song

I use Director windows on windows vista to make a music video formed by several clips and a track of the song.  the track of the song is 4 minutes long, and all the clips together make about 4 min and 30 sec.  I am trying to use the automatic video tool that makes a music video, but for some reason he cut the song in two, so it takes about 2 minutes

is there anyway I can change this?  I want it to last the length of original music track.  and Yes, the song is in the wma format.

I use the automatic video because it makes the best selection of clips for the different rhythms of the song I could never do

Results will vary with the content of clips and the style of the auto-film. I don't have a Vista system but has quickly checked with Vista MM2.6 running on Windows 7. You don't say if you use MM6 or MM2.6 in Vista... maybe the results are the same for each.

With a music file of 11 minutes and a lot of video clips and still the auto-film for all styles except the music resulted in a project a little more than 3 minutes. The same content with the style of music video was 1 minutes, 11 seconds.
I added much more video clips and checked a few styles... the auto-film a 4 min 26 sec for the style Flip and slide and 2 min 25 sec for the music.

  • Sync audio/video Windows Movie Maker problem

When you use Windows Movie Maker 5.1 to capture video from my Panasonic PV-GS39 DV camera, audio is 15 seconds ahead of the video.  Anyone know what is the cause or how to fix it?  No other programs are running at the time of the capture.

    Windows Movie Maker 5.1
    Windows XP Service Pack 3

It is difficult to say why Windows Movie Maker would be to have this problem, but my recommendation would be to eliminate it from the video capture process. There is an excellent free program called WinDV you can use to capture video on your computer, then you can change using Windows Movie Maker, once the capture is complete. Video capture questions can be exasperating. Along with other instructions of troubleshooting, I explain why you might want to use WinDV in a tutorial on video troubleshooting.

  • Windows movie maker problem: video cut or turns off

I have windows vista on my computer and I tried to use the windows movie maker program to make a music video.  the video I got was originally in MP4 format so I used Format Factory to convert WMV (I also did AVI).  for some reason when I'm working on the video images goes off and I can't see the stage.  Sometimes I get the picture but most of the time I don't have.  I also tried to use AVI format but the problem is always the same.

I read and I think it would be that the resolution could be the problem, if so, how can I change that on Format Factory?
It could also be that Format Factory is perhaps not good enough, are there other free conversion programs I could use?
other than that, I don't know why the image freezes (music plays again)
any kind of help will be greatly appreciated!

Format Factory is a good converter but I also
find FreeMake Video Converter to be useful:

  • Problem creating Windows DVD? Or Windows Movie Maker problem?

Hello!  I created a slide show in Windows Movie Maker, which plays on my computer without problem.  Now, I try to burn it to a DVD by using the Windows DVD authoring application.  I was able to burn my DVDs sucessfully using the wizard and when I put it in the DVD player I get the main menu I created.

I press play and start my video, but he plays 16 seconds and everything goes black.  Time continues to roll until the full 3 minutes are up, but I have 16 seconds of my film.  I burned 3 DVD and it did the same thing.

Can someone help me with what I'm doing wrong?

    Hi Khsb14,

Have a. you been able to watch the video before burning?

    B. did burn the DVD?

    C. is the DVD burner connected properly

    D. is the audio work after the 16th s?

    E. do you have a mistake when he went to the black screen?

This could be a problem with the burner DVD or the method of engraving. Try the following methods.

    Method 1

Previewing your DVD, you can view the photos and videos on this subject. Check if the full video is seen in the preview. This can help you determine if you want to make changes to the DVD before burning the disc.

    1. In the ready to burn DVD page, click Preview.
    2. To read the DVD preview, click play in the control screen.
    3. To control the playback, click Pause , play , previous chapter or next chapter , according to what you want to do.
    4. To display the DVD menu, click Menu. Click on the top, bottom, right, or arrows left to go in this direction on the DVD menu preview, and then click the Enter button to play the selected menu item. Click OK when you are done previewing the DVD.

Check the link for more information.

    Method 3

Choose a speed slower burn to your DVD recorder as follows:

      1. Return to the Add pictures and video to the DVD page and then click on Options.
      2. In the DVD burning speed box, select medium or slow.
