video .wmv ending

When someone sends me an email with a video with a .wmv ending, even other different ends, my windows media player won't play them.

I have 11.0.6002.18311 of Window's Media Player. I have Vista. It is said that everything is up to date. Don't know what the problem is or how to fix it.

No one knows what might be wrong.

Thank you

"with a .wmv ending"... it is called file format or file extension.

Suggestions:

1. what happens if you save the video file on your computer, first of all, wmv then go and play the video.
Which will work?

2. until you have solved the problem, I recommend that you install VLC media player.
It's free
She plays virtually all file formats, if you do not have to worry about codecs and all this nonsense.
It plays audio and video files.
It is widely used and recommended.

    ====================================
DVD Maker encodes video so that
the disc is closed, and no more files can be added.

You can add additional files on a data DVD, but not
    on a DVD-video.

If you add all the 4 files in the DVD project
before you burn the DVD video, it should work.

  • Toshiba 24D1333B - powerpoint video wmv - not looping

We just purchased a Toshiba 24D1333B/24D1333B2 24 inch high definition LED TV with DVD player built-in to our Museum Show videos constantly running on the USB.

Even if I select the video loop, it isn't always - he could play for a second time but then stops.
I am using videos created by Powerpoint so that they format wmv which is supported.

    So why doesn't it loop?

    > Then why doesn't it loop?
Maybe you should edit your PowerPoint files and put in place a presentation to loop.

    How?
    1. on the slide show menu, click set up show.
    2. Select the loop continuously until 'ESC' check box

If you want a presentation to auto run, for example, at a trade show booth click viewed on a Terminal (fullscreen) in the set up show dialog box. This causes the presentation to loop and also restricts users from changing.

Unable to get sound when you import video clips (.m2ts) Cannon for Windows Live Movie Maker video recorder or on the video file (.wmv).  Does anyone have a suggestion as to how this can be done?

    Hi RichGraff,

    • You have sounds in the VCR of Canon?
    • Are you facing problem with this video or other videos as well?

For now, I suggest to import the video clip in Windows Movie Maker, which is an application integrated into Windows Vista and check if you get its in.

  • No sound for videos .wmv

I am running Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows Firefox 3.6.3. I can get audio of youtube, but nothing for the .wmv files. This coincides with a couple of Java being blocked by Windows Defender files. don't know if it's a coincidence.

    Hi marjomeara,

    1. How do you try to play .wmv files?
    2. what program you use to read the .wmv files?

If the problem is on Firefox, try the following steps.
    1. open Firefox and visit a site that should play a sound.
For example, go to the website YouTube and play a video.
    2. click on the volume icon in the Windows taskbar.
    3. click on mix. The Volume Mixer window will appear.
    4. make sure the Firefox slider isn't at the bottom.

  • I have some videos .wmv on a Web page that work in all the

major browsers (including Safari on a Mac), but not Safari on Windows. I downloaded and installed (as I know), Quick Time and Flash plug-ins for Safari (Windows), but the Web page always videos and, in fact, is always asking me to plug-ins.

I use Windows Media Player 12 and on my desk that's what the .wmv files will open in. Now, if I open Safari, then look for the folder on my desktop and open the same .wmv file that I have on the Web page, the film plays in Safari.

Someone has an idea of what may be the problem?

    Thank you.

I have the video I used with this software for about 6 months suddenly resembling the image as an attachment. It is projected the half and I reduced to wmv files. What you are experiencing is the display of wmv 1/2 associated with a recent Windows Update kb. That Ko must be deleted.

Please check the announcement at the top of this Forum of items first. This has been a 'hot' topic for awhile now. Many discussions on the issue.

For your convenience, this is what you should find in the ad at the top of this forum.

Announcement: Windows Update is display be blackened

MicroSoft has released an update for Windows, which poses problems with screens. What follows is of Talbot McInnis, who has been tracking this problem and offers a solution:

"MS technology MS13-057.  Specifically, on kb2834904 XP and windows 7 kb2803821 is causing a problem

    .

For us, it happens when the decoding of WMV9 files.  Not all uses of decoding WMV are affected, but I have confirmed that when linking the WMV decode DLL to a sample for RGB32 video grabber, executives are black on top, so that points directly to the internal data of the dll to decode WMV decoding.

You can uninstall these windows updates to fix your problem. »

There are several discussions on the issue that this update is initially on the pre and PrPro Forums, so we can get more details. So far, there is not another hotfix of MS or Adobe.

Advice in the many threads here about this include:

    a. for now, set up updates Windows so that you need notification before any downloading and installing them.

    and

    b. If you catch crime pending important updates Windows updates, right-click and select hide. Which is supposed to prevent him from returning.

  • How do I embed a file video .wmv?

I have 2 files, .wmv, I want to incorporate into a screen of captivate.  It seems that CP5.5 does not support this format.  I tried to make a link to the file that will launch Win Media player and play the video.  It works however it directs the user to the CP content and also guess they have Media player installed and ready to go.

The problem is I want our employees to watch the video, then go the next slide, which has a certificate of completion.  Watch the video should be taken before they can move to the slide whith the cert of the completion.

    Any help?  Thank you!

Probably, you will need the WMV Transcoder to a format understood by Captivate. See if you have the Media Encoder.

  • Windows Media Player 11 is blank and no sound during playback of videos .wmv

Its a recent Windows XP installation of origin as well as all updates (for example. SP2, SP3 etc) so straight to media player 11 with no previous versions.  Videos probably date from before the player.  Codec issue maybe?

XP did earlier versions of WMP installed & running, go to

Try in WMP, go to tools, options, look for the "file types" tab, select all, maybe tweak

    Hey guys,.

I'm pretty new to Action script and I have a problem with the movie, I'm working on.

It's the upper third of the stage that the user sees. When they click on a computer a window is supposed to pop up. Everything works well at this point. Full screen, (the small button hard to read is random material that opens a window to a random computer), a link to the 'Digital Studio' and computers when you click it.

    Stage.gif

It is after the window is open, the problem occurs. As you can tell that there is an X in the upper right corner of the window. When the user presses on which it is supposed to close the window and return to the normal state. The text of 'Software' is clickable and returns the user to the Web sites of Microsoft Office, Adobe, etc. When the user clicks on the software, it works fine, but if the user clicks anywhere else in the window it just closes and returns to the first frame. There is nothing in my ActionScripting that puts an event listener to the window or the narrow sign. Any ideas as to what I might be missing / have that I didn't?

    Thanks for the help.

Just for fun to see if the computer is the problem, add the following line where the Manager works for the computer...

  • How to change a wmv.video in windows maker

I've never made a video film.  Into movie maker window I dragged a 1 minute and 2 minutes of video .wmv Office line or a history of time.   How can I change to delete parts of it as of the shots of the floor

    Hello

I think you want to cut and remove unwanted your movie parts.
After you add your clips to the storyboard, there will be a preview (called a screen control) area in the right side above the table of Storyboard. Just below the preview area, there will be control buttons (Play, next image previous image). There will be more small icon named Split.
OK, it's background information! Now how to do it:
Read the preview of your movie. Click the split button just at the moment where your unwanted portion begins. Now click the split again button when your unwanted portion ends. Now the unwanted part is placed in the median guardrail (between two popular slides). Delete this slide. It's her! you're done!
  • Problems with the video file (wmv) path - Director Keeps restoring old road

I am looking for assistance in obtaining a video playing live per floor in my movie once it is burned to CD.

What I found is this work expected to use a relative path , and my film must find the video files very well.  However, I have great difficulty with this.  I was able to change the 'filename' from the video cast member to a relative path (@Video\videofilename.wmv) and the property inspector reflect this change.

    Untitled-13.jpg

However, once I save, publish and check that it works, the film begins to search for the file in the original location.  What happened several times.  I changed the properties for the Member of the cast in the cast, as well as for the onstage cast member (not sure if their properties are related, so after a few troubled results, I tried to change both).  Whatever happens, the path in the file name field is back:

    CastMemberProperties01.jpg

I've even went up to remove the videos of the scene and casting, then add them again, using only the relative path in the file name field, does not.  The result is always the same: once I have save and publish again, the name of the file back to the absolute path.  To say the least, it's frustrating.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

    B

The operator 'path' should be considered as the combination of characters "@:" or "@------" or "@/ ', then your path should be"@\Video\videofilename.wmv ".

As you say, this should not give problems. If it persists, there are two options. Use Manager prepareMovie for the searchPathList and set the member.filename property before than the dialog box 'where's... ' is displayed:

    on prepareMovie
      _player.searchPathList.append(_movie.path & "Video")
      -- member("wmv").filename = "@\Video\videofilename.wmv"
    end

    Hello

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?
    2. are you able to play videos other than video .wmv successfully?
    3. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

    Method 1
I suggest you to check if the hardware acceleration of the display device setting is too high.
    a. Click Start, click Run, type desk.cpl and then click OK.

    b. click on the settings tab and then click Advanced.

    c. click the Troubleshooting tab, and then move the hardware acceleration to none.

    d. click on apply and then click OK twice.

    e. If the problem is resolved after you move the slider hardware acceleration to none, contact the manufacturer of the graphics adapter driver to determine if there is an update that resolves this specific problem.

    Method 2
The required codec is missing or damaged. If the problem occurs when you use a .wmv file, download or reinstall the latest version of Windows Media Player. If you use an earlier version of Windows Media Player, upgrade to the current version of Windows Media Player for your operating system.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Windows-Media-Player

If the problem occurs when you use a different format of video file, for example a .mpeg file or an .avi file, download or reinstall the appropriate third-party codec.
