Video YouTube is black without a picture

Today, I noticed that when I went to a YouTube video, no video would show upward - only a screenm empty and dark.

Hello

Try the following.

First, download the Flash uninstall utility on the link below and save it to your desktop.

Flash Player Uninstaller.

Once the download is complete, close all browser windows and start the program uninstaller.  Once done, restart the laptop.

Then, download and install Firefox , then using Firefox, download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash. Note: You can deselect the option to include McAfee Security Scan Plus before download.

Close all browser windows before you run the installer of Flash.

Start Firefox and see if Youtube videos play Ok in this browser - if they do, close Firefox, open Internet Explorer and click on the same link Adobe Flash above to get a command prompt to install the ActiveX component.  Once completed, restart Internet Explorer.

Kind regards

DP - K

Today when I booted up my laptop, Firefox would not play any YouTube video - audio still works and the preview of the image when the research is there, but instead of the video there is just a black screen. I have NO intention to install Flash Player. Help, please? Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    1. Open the Firefox Options (Preferences on Mac or Linux) as follows:

      • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

then select Options Preferences on Mac or Linux, or Windows.

      • In 28.0 Firefox and earlier versions, click on the Firefox orange upper-left button, then select the 'Options' button or, if there is no button up Firefox, go to tools > Options.
    2. In the window of Firefox Options (or preferences), click on the Advanced tab, and then select general.
    3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    4. Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

  • Videos YouTube block when quality change.

I use Firefox for my browser. On Firefox, I used to Watch youtube videos, and I would like to have the quality video streaming, which Firefox usually allows me to have. But recently, every time I load a YouTube video and try to change the quality, no matter where I am in the video or how do I change the quality (by changing higher or lower quality has the same effect on the video), the video will go black, the sound stops and it is clear that the video is no longer running. I don't remember when it started, but it was not for maybe long, 1-3 months. If I do the YouTube Player widescreen and reload the page, the video will default to 480 p, but I still can not change in this position either. I tried to do this in Chrome and I can change the quality, but I can't be bothered using another browser just to play videos, and frankly, Chrome sucks. I don't know what caused it. I think this is related to the new layout of the YouTube video player.

The behavior of the current YouTube media player seems different to me when changing the resolution.
I now see an icon of rotation for a short period until the player has changed the resolution and has made sufficient buffer to switch to the new resolution.
The change is barely noticeable for me.

Try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox.

You can try the basic steps like these:

Reload Web pages and ignore the cache to refresh potentially stale or corrupt.

    • Hold down the SHIFT key and click the Reload button
    • Press 'Ctrl + F5' or 'Ctrl + Shift + R' (Windows, Linux)
    • Press 'Command + shift + R' (Mac)

Clear the cache and cookies only from Web sites that are causing problems.

    "Clear the Cache":

    • Firefox/tools > Options > advanced > network > content caching Web: 'clear now '.

    'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

    • Firefox/tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance).

    • Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode without failure.
  • YouTube load black screen for the first five seconds

As of the beginning of January 2013 in Firefox, videos YouTube are responsible as empty black screens for the first five seconds. 0:06 mark, video begin to play normally. This isn't a problem in Chrome or IE. Tested with all plug-ins and Add-ons disabled (except Flash player). Plug-ins/add-ons custom updated. Tried to reinstall Firefox without solution. Help? Thank you!

You can check the problems caused by the recent updates of Flash and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update
    • disable the safe_mode in Flash 11.3 and later versions
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
  • Videos YouTube does not play.

  • Firefox 16.0.1, videos youtube freeze after 2 seconds. FF injuries.

Videos YouTube freeze after that 2 seconds... audio game continues for 5 seconds on it. The whole browser stops responding and I have to ctrl + alt + delete at the process level to close FF16.

After that I uninstalled my customized version, so BONE STOCK FF16 is miss you, this is a new installation. I tried the current version flash 11.4 and 11.2 flash version to get my problem is solved.

NO ID CRASH. No formal don't crash in itself, just a browser totally unresponsive.

By the way... Chrome works youtube without incident. WTF.

In addition, this problem does not exist on my installation of Waterfox... a variant of 64 free bits of 15 FF. Maybe I have a sort of x 64 issue. I think that maybe that's the problem with the standard 32-bit version of FF16. Ask me again why this happened in the first place.

I run McAfee OAS Business Class A / V, never had a virus or something in 4 years.

SOLVED. Watefox is the only way it seems. Needs of Firefox to fix this flash on its own it seems.

  • Video MP4 appears black on phone Samsung Galaxy, game of 2 other MP4 OK [subject edited by Moderator]

When you view the Web site - video MP4 appears black on the phone Samsung Galaxy - site made with dreamweaver cc - game of 2 other MP4 OK - can't see any difference in the html or css coding for everything - 2 videos that play ok were filmed on the samsung phone - one that is not displayed is an animation created in AutoCAD that displays OK on the laptop , but not on the phone?

It is very convenient and user-friendly than the suggestion. And it is a common practice among the different site.  The loading speed is much lower by comparing on YouTube (as my friend [link removed by moderator irrelevant] site) unless you have a very decent server, usually, is not cheap.

  • Videos Youtube in Premiere Pro import results in loss of quality photo - how to prevent this?

I imported several downloaded videos from youtube in 720 or 1080 p Premier Pro but when playing in the video editor, the image quality is a little blurry and not as sharp as the original video is on youtube. Is it possible to import the video on Premier Pro without losing the original quality?

A big thank you to everyone who can provide guidance.

Whenever the first play video back, it's going to seem to be of lower quality than the original. This is not to say that any quality has been lost, and when you export you will have your quality of origin again.

Just make sure that the drop-down list in your monitor next to the wrench is set to "Full". If it is set to "1/2" or "1/4" which means reading will be really low quality (to speed things up). "." Even full however, it will be a little less strong than the original when he plays. When you stop, then you will see the original quality again.

I get the error: "year error has occurred, please try again later" when you try to view videos youtube on Firefox.
I tried to use Google Chrome and everything's good about it.

    Things I've tried:

    • Clearing cookies, history etc.
    • Removal of cookies.sqlite
    • Re-installed a new Firefox
    • Re-installed Flash Player 14
    • Get rid of Flash Player 14 and returned to Flash Player 11

    None of this has worked.

I get the error for all videos to youtube every time, it is not a random phenomenon.

I'm really frustrated by it because Firefox is my favorite browser and now I am forced to switch to Chrome.

    Hello

Make sure Flash is updated. Open system preferences > Flash Player then select updates tab, and then click check now.

  • Videos YouTube start muted

    HP G72-253NR - MS WIN 7HP SP1 - FIREFOX 24.0 - FLASH 11.8.800.168

Until recently, videos YouTube played to whatever the last book that I had. Videos from YouTube (site / embedded) begin with Muted. I can increase the volume in the drive, but the videos start with muted.

Have you checked the volume mixer; reinstalled Flash; system reboot; Firefox restarted with the new profile, disabled modules and allowed the cookies/cache.

Seems to be resolved by updating your Adobe Flash Player version 11.9.900.117

  • After you have installed Mozilla Firefox with Adobe Flash Player 11.6 20.0, videos YouTube do not load correctly.

Videos YouTube has of worked before installing Adobe Flash Player. Once installed the screen flickers, after a second, rewind at the start, then plays normally. This only happens when I use Internet Explorer. I reinstalled Mozilla Firefox and Adobe Flash Player several times but nothing seems to work. Decommissioning of Adobe Flash Player does not work either. It seems that Firefox is the problem, but I'm not completely sure.

You can check for problems with the latest version of the Flash plugin and try these:

    • disable an eventual extension of the browser for Firefox Plugin RealPlayer Record and if installed RealPlayer update
    • disable the safe_mode in Flash 11.3 and later versions
    • turn off hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
  • Videos YouTube won't play.

I have Firefox 18. I have the last Flash from Adobe installed (after you do a complete uninstall and reinstall). I cleared the cache, cookies, etc.

No matter what I try, videos YouTube won't play in Firefox. I always get the same message:

"An error has occurred. Please try again later. »

If I copy exactly the same link in Explorer (which, normally, I hate using) it plays perfectly. So clearly the fault lies with Firefox.
