• Update on a laptop that has not been used in almost 1 year

  My husbands cell phone has not been used since last October. He was diagnosed with leukaemia, shortly after he had and has not shown an interest to learn to use it until now. It has Windows 8 and we want to do the free update of Windows 10. The laptop wants to 79 updates before we start download Windows 10. He has been on and downloading these updates for more than 3 hours and the screen still says 0% complete. Is it normal to take so long after being unused for so long? Husband and I went to the challenge of the technology. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  There are many updates and update process may take several hours. You can suddenly find that updates show that almost complete.

  If there is anything on the laptop that you want to keep:

  Download and create a Windows 8.1 installation media and do a clean install of it. See creating installation for Windows 8.1 media. Accepting any offer to install updates during installation. 8.1 Windows installation media last will accept the keys to Windows 8. If your key is in the BIOS of the laptop, it will be detected automatically.

  At the end of the installation, you will be prompted to upgrade to Windows 10 and will be able to do an immediate upgrade Windows 10 without updating the Windows 8.1 installation.

  Visit the support of the manufacturer of your laptop to see if there are model specific drivers you need. Installing Windows 8.1 and 10 will not provide the latest drivers.

  If you want to keep the existing installed applications and files, you can create 8.1 Windows installation media and run the setup.exe on it then in Windows 8.

• Video streaming has stopped working

  I have a BDP-S370 which was streaming Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Youtube fine for almost two years, from 3 days, I got the error: connection status cannot be confirmed. Service has not started in this region... my routers very well (my pc and mac have no problem), the player can check for updates. But any time, I try to check the video Streaming or see "Advanced", I get the same error "Région" after the acquisition of content 1/3, 2/3, 3/3.

  I tried to get help from online chat - but they were useless. I'm in Orange, California, and I know that the same question has hit the Ireland and it was due to a failure on end of Sony.   I want to add an adapter usb to my computer to watch movies on my TV. It came with the software, however the download access is denied.

  When you install the hardware in your computer (almost always), you must install a 'pilot', which is just software that tells your operating system (Windows, in your case) how to communicate with the hardware.

  Microsoft has a program she calls 'the logo test' which enables a company to label its products with the Windows logo.  Not every small manufacturer wants to go through the load of this test program, but if a company is trustworthy - and Trendnet is - then the fact that their products have not passed official testing procedures from Microsoft doesn't mean that their products will not work with Windows.  This is why you can usually ignore a message to the effect that a product has not passed Windows logo testing - if you also a pretty good reason to believe that the product will work.

  So just follow the instructions supplied with the adapter installation, put on the CD and install the software.  But the installation of this card is only the first part of your trip.

  Although I've not set my TV to watch streaming video from Netflix or Amazon, as I understand it, you need a TV that can be connected directly to the Internet.  In other words, you cannot download and save a copy of the video complete on your computer and then read it from your computer to the TV.  That's why's called it "streaming" video - you're not supposed to save a copy to your computer, but rather to look at the 'stream '.

  Thus, Amazon said, "the easiest way is to connect your TV to your router or modem broadband (DSL/Cable, for example) with an ethernet cable.»

  A lot of people with a connection broadband has a router, which has generally 4 Ethernet Sockets (and perhaps a point of both wireless access).  If you had one, you would just connect a "vacant" Ethernet between the TV and a cable to your router.  You, unfortunately, have a router with a single Ethernet Jack (I know you thought it as a modem, but it's almost certainly a modem and a router inside a box of Physics).  So, as you acknowledged, you don't connect your TV to the cable modem because it would need to disconnect your computer.

  You have two choices.

  You can buy a cheap Ethernet switch (e.g. this one) which would connect you to port on the back of the modem cable and then connect your computer and TV to two of the other ports on the switch.  This would probably work without having to make adjustments to configuration on your cable modem - but in the past, some customers wanted cable ISPS to pay extra for each computer connected to the modem cable and makes it a little difficult to so add connections on your own.  I don't think that is always the case, but because I don't have cable - especially not the same cable ISP like you - I don't know about you.

  Or you can buy a second Ethernet adapter of your computer (which is what you did) and then set up the "Internet connection sharing" (ICS) on your computer so that the TV can connect to the Internet through your computer.  Because you have already purchased this material, you probably want to set up ICS.

  Although there are many websites that explain how to configure ICS, because XP is becoming obsolete quickly, many of the older sites are more fully functional, including one who should have been better to show your situation (sharing a connection to local network to the Internet with another connection of LAN)

  Use the Network Setup Wizard.  Go to network connections (start > run > ncpa.cpl > OK) and click on "Set up a small business network or home."

  Choose the first choice.  Even if your computer connects 'via a residential gateway"(your cable modem/router) the"other computers"(TV) will connect"through this computer."

  If you have correctly installed the USB adapter, you should see a line like the one that was highlighted in the image (it's your modem cable connection) and a second line describes your connection to the LAN USB.

  If the wizard does not recognize the USB adapter as a connection to the local network, it will not let you continue (click on the 'Next' button on this screenshot, where there is only one LAN connection, and you'll see what happens).

  Assuming that the wizard allows you to continue to do so.  Your "computer name" is already filled in. Do not change. You can add a description if you wish.  When you get to the screen 'file and printer sharing', you can disable this feature (you're not going to share files between your computer and the TV).

  When you complete the wizard, you should be able to connect your TV to your USB adapter and it should work (Yes, there is a lot of "desirable"; good luck).

  I had a problem with my BBM for Android. I got 1.0.0.72 version.

  The main problem is that others cannot see my profile picture, my profile picture not shown do not in their device.

  Actually my problem already solved. What I did is just to create a new BBID. And with this new BBID, can I change my profile picture and others can see my profile picture.

  And if I change my BBID to the previous and change profile image, others cannot see my profile picture. Totally different with the new.

  If I read the knowledge base, the main problem are:

  1. the device is unable to connect to the Infrastructure of BBM.

  2. an error occurred during the process of updating the view of the image or avatar.

  This Knowledge Base is not for me, because I can change the profile photo and others can see my new PIC if I used the new BBID. But if I went to the old and change of image, others cannot see my profile picture

  Quite bizarre, because I used the same device and network.

  When Player 7 came out, streaming has stopped working once again, popping up an error "file not found".  I just stood on Player 6.

  Now, I saw that the new player was released.  I installed it, eager to see if the killer feature that I learned to rely on a started working again.  This is not the case.

  Let me know if you need more information to track down this bug, or if there is a place better to go to report.  This forum seemed to work OK last time.  In hindsight, I should have reported the issue when Player 7 came out.  Maybe you guys need to add this as a regression test to your test suite

  Sorry for the sudden removal of this feature Jeremy! Let's get the fixed docs. FWIW, usage statistics we collect indicate less than 10 streaming power VM on operations per month. It's a nice feature, the developer maintenance cost was not justified.

  How about try this: put the VM library on a network share. When someone wants to use a specific snapshot of the VM library on their local computer, using vmrun to create a linked clone (clone can be on a local disk). Since everyone will have write access to the library of the virtual machine, make sure to back up. I have not tried myself (I don't have the practical configuration), but I think that should work.

  You're using Long or Long Raw in DB. If Yes, would be great if you can file a bug with the test case. BTW, the below given points have been suggested for problems similar return some time assuming you are using the type Long (btw, I have not tried these personally)
  1. JVM option "-Doracle.jdbc.useFetchSizeWithLongColumn = true '.
  2. make SQLTYPE as long in the application (XMLs EO/VO)
  3 convert the type LONG LOB (table).

  After that then transcoding the main video file during construction, still prepares "Audio planning for the film" in which case the error 'end of the stream has been reached' pop-up window appears and the burn fails later. There is no errors within the project and I burned the project successfully on a DVD with no errors in the past. The only changes is this time a re encoding of the video file (uncompressed AVI 1920 x 1280 bit depth max), a change in the video vignettes for the chapter selection pages and a tweeking of the chapter points. Because the video file is so large, I delete the previous AVI file and export using the same name to create the links of approriate. I read that audio compression is the main cause of this error, however, I did nothing related sound between versions of the DVD. How can I fix this error?  Thanks in advance.

  It is possible that your Audio stream is longer than the video stream. This can cause problems, even if it's only longer by a unit Audio, or both.

  I always begin (problem with locking DD 5.1 SS) my video with silence and always end my Audio, about 1-2 seconds, before the end of the video stream.

  Can you tell us all about your Audio and video streams, and how you in yet?

  While he's a suspect, probably, it would not be the only suspect. More information will be useful in ruling out, or focusing on the best way to fix things.
