View 5.2: updated-AutomaticLinkedClonePool disables allow to reuse pre-existing computeraccounts

The Update-AutomaticLinkedClonePool cmdlet disables the option 'allow to reuse pre-existing computeraccounts ".

How to prevent this? Is there a cmdlet / parameter to set this option?

It's a bug in 5.2 that has since been corrected, you will need to upgrade to a later version 5.x to pick up the fix.

Two weeks ago, I allowed the computer to "update and turn off.  After restart the next morning, I received an error message and the blue screen of death.  Finally, after trying all available automatic recovery, I had to send my computer to the center of the guarantee of having the reinstalled window and the hard drive repair.

Less all my files of course.

I just left the computer on three days while my files restored from my cloud storage.

When I went to close I noticed that it wanted to update again.  NOT. A.Chance I'll make several updates until I did this semester of teaching!

I have now disabled automatic updates and questions.

FYI - I am a 50 years old Professor of biology.  Don't try to tell me things to do in computer language.  I did not major in computer science and have no patience for coding etc..  I want just an operating system that I don't miss every three months as this computer windows 8 a.

    Original title: win crash update

    Hello D,

Thanks for posting your query on Microsoft Community forum.

Windows Update contains software tools that detect information about your computer, such as the make and model and the version of Windows and other Microsoft software running on your computer. Microsoft uses this information to install only the updates your computer needs.

Windows Update notifies you if the security and other important updates cannot be installed. This can happen due to various reasons including corrupted Windows Update package installation, slow or intermittent internet connection, third-party manufacturer's software is conflicting with Windows running on your computer etc services. To do this, Windows provides a built-in Troubleshooting of Windows Update that can automatically find and fix some problems with Windows Update.

You can, however, disable automatic update when you want. This gives you an option to choose until the Windows updates are installed. Windows does not install updates when the automatic update is disabled. So, if you restart your computer to install some software, this will not affect not updates of Windows works if automatic update is disabled. However, you can get notification to install updates pending.

Second, it is always safe to install Windows updates with an internet connection running flawlessly. For best results, it is recommended that you run not any third-party application, while updates are installing and the internet connection is smooth. Alternatively, you can Activate the automatic update when you want. Don't forget, updates Windows Installer patches critical for lots of bugs related to the software installed on the system and ensures that the device drivers for Windows are not absent from your PC.

Hope this information is useful. Let us know if you need additional help on the issue, we will be happy to help you.

  • PowerCLI 'update-AutomaticLinkedClonePool' removes the login server on pool restrictions?

    Hello

Thank you for taking the time to read this query.

We are experiencing a problem whereby a simple script PowerCLI serving to reduce the number of virtual machines running in a pool is having the knock on effect of the removal of the server connection for the pool restrictions.

    "Update-AutomaticLinkedClonePool -pool_id testpool -headroomCount 20"

VMware say there is no support for using PowerCLI with View which I find a bit mystifying at the moment but I'd be grateful for any advice on this problem or whether there is a better way of achieving this.

    With thanks,

    Kim

    Hi Kim,

I saw this culture until recently. It's a bug in the view code PowerCLI whereby it keeps the values of tag for pools when they are modified. It is now followed by a solution, even if I have no details on when it will be released. The solution is to extract from the database of ADAM beforehand and restore them after the command manually.

  • SP1 update has disabled the startup. Please help (error 0x8007000E)

original title: SP1 update has disabled the startup. Help, please

I ran the upgrade of windows (84 files) and restarted the pc, checking upgrade again and he said updated service pack 1 or SP1 so I start making level and after a long time its still shows the installation but the icon in the lower right shows 100% so I clicked on cancel and then restarted the pc.

Now Im getting a Startup Repair error box that search startup errors but says "Windows cannot repair this computer automatically. I can click on 'Finish' or 'Cancel' if I click on end it shuts down the pc if I click cancel it reboots the pc. another box pops up that says "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically.
My options are 'Send info on this problem (recommended)' or 'do not send' if I click it scans a second and then the box goes away leaving the 1st box of error described above.

I tried to hit F8 and using 'repair your computer' this is for me the box of system recovery options. Sign in with my user name and password to choose a recovery tool.

    • Startup Repair
    • system restore
    • restore complete Windows pc
    • Windows memory diagnostic tool
    • command prompt
    • Recovery Manager

I tried startup repair, but get the same message as above.
I tried the system restore (which does not affect any of my files, documents, etc..) Then he said: choose a restore point that I want to use, but the only option is the 31/05/2011 install Windows Vista Service Pack 1... then I go ahead and try it and it says it will restart my pc and apply the changes. It initializes, file restore, then a box pop up saying system restore has failed. has failed because of an unspecified error. Not enough memory is available to complete this operation. (0x8007000E)

So I try here this forum...
Question: Lets say there's someone who can get my pc back to normal... what I need updated SP1 and SP2?

    Hello

Not having the system restore, you can try a different restore point and check. If the problem persists, then you must try a startup repair and system restore boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista.

You can try to disconnect all the external devices (except keyboard and mouse) and tries to boot from the disk and check.
