• Error downloading folio for iPad via Content Viewer

  I'm having issues, get the folio to download on the Adobe Content Viewer for iPad app... whenever I get this message "folio download error. Please try again later. »

  I built a folio of single-app:

  1024 x 768

  Version of the Viewer: 20

  Orientation: Horizontal

  PDF format

  Adobe InDesign CS6 with the latest tools and folio Builder

  The folio consists of a single article with a page that contains two video files (two vignettes that play in full screen when it is turned on)

  I have an iPad 2 and iPad 3rd generation I have Adobe Content viewer on iOS 6 (latest version)

  I tried to remove the application viewer content and re - download a new version, I tried to completely rebuild the folio from scratch, I also created a new username Adobe with an expense account to try the folio with... and each time it downloads fine without error... but refuses to download on the iPad.

  Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong or what I should try?

  Doesn't sound that you do something wrong at all. It could be due to performance issues on our servers that create problems to download large files. Here are a few things you can try:

  • If the folio is not already published, republish it as private. Downloads of published folios are often faster.
  • Try to create two sections each containing a video. Download plus two small files is generally better than downloading a large file.

  If it still does not respond, you can share the folio with [email protected] and I'll be happy to take a look.

• Any ideas as to why unable to display the new folio in Content Viewer?

  The content viewer is a novelty and tools DPS (running InD CS6). Able to create folio with the generator of folio and view with the desktop but preview never shows up in the content viewer.

  Thank you, Neil. Finally someone to Support Adobe's call me and understand the problem with a return to the screen. I can't tell you exactly what the problem was but they changed the suffix on some preference files and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks for the help.

• Folios of content Viewer download

  I'm starting to experience serious problems. I use the latest version of the software and have created 4 folios. 2 downloaded fine a week ago. the last 2 that are only in a different language denied to download on the ipad. I copied the files and changes the text, that's all, and they don't just download. Its very strange. Everything works fine when I watch on my computer via the Viewer, it's perfect, it just will not download. Is there a way I can wire up the ipad and transfer them offline as it takes much of my time.

  Any help would be awesome guys, im pulling my hair out.

  To reduce video files, I use HandBrake (http://handbrake.fr). Find the right balance between size and quality. Another option is to post videos on a server and streams. The downside is that your users need to be connected.

• Producer of Folio, shared Folios and Content Viewer

  Forgive me if this response is posted elsewhere and after some research, I was not able to find an answer.

  I have several students folios sharing with me. When you have 30 students or more each semester sharing folios, it starts to add up!

  So, I was hoping that I could use the Folio producer to manage folios (which they shared with me) appear in my iPad content viewer application. I thought that I could check, 'Content Viewer for Web Only' down to the right of the window when I highlight the folio but when I do, the folio appears in the application of the content viewer.

  The number of folios in my content viewer application is unyieldy, and a few pages are not displayed.

  1. I use this feature correctly?

  2. is it possible to manage the folios, so I can keep to delete?

  3. If sheets appear not in the application of the content viewer, what that means is there is a limit to the number of sheets that can be viewed in the application of the content viewer?

  1. No, this feature is for something completely different (related to social sharing)

  2. not really. When they are in your account, they appear in the Adobe Content Viewer. This is what Adobe Viewr contained: to show you folios in your account.

  3. There is no limit. The folios are not displayed, probably means that they are not the right size for an iPad. They must be 1024 x 768 or 2048 x 1536.

• Error when you try to update folio DPS Content Viewer

  Long story short, out of nowhere I can not update a folio in my iPad Content Viewer application.

  I get the error message:

  Error during download

  Try your download again later.

• Folio Builder content generation error: error processing files

  Using the latest version of PC of Indesign CC I get this error.

  The indesign document is a document of multistate. At some point after you add States, I can't update the document in foliobuilder more and get (translated from the Dutch right Synax may be different):

  [File processing error]

  I tried things like:

  -with the help of another userID folio/Adobe

  -put filed of LAN 2 (with the reissue of links)

  -removal of several States (at one point, the issue is resolved, but when I add new States the problem is reintroduced)

  -the document splitting (2 x 10 States does'nt fix this)

  -added several States (making copies and do not change content yet) it works. As soon as I start changing the content this error comes back.

  Please suggestions!

  It took me a lot of time, but I think I finally found the answer.

  In 'Names of State', spaces are allowed, but if your total of spaces in the names of all the 'State' in a folio is about more than 45 you get this problem.

  My solution is not to use spaces in "names of State." I don't have problems with & - or.

• DPS iPad Folio/Article contents?

  Long time user of the PS and AE, but new to InDesign and DPS, I'm not having much luck on the search for an answer, mostly because I'm not sure what I was looking for!

  I find the flow of work DPS and pretty intuative tools, but I'm stumped on how to create a hyperlink table of contents for the release of the iPad.  I built a table of contents in InDesign and thought I could use the hyperlink tool to link the articles, but it seems that OCD is a task of Folio Builder?

  The behaivor I want, that's when the app opens, displays a table of contents and articles are related in the text of the table of contents to the article in my Folio.

  Can someone share a resource, tip, video, see an article for help... anything that will help me to build a table of contents that links to my articles?

• Content Viewer is broken when opening folio which is containing overlays(html/js) + 50

  I have a 50 + web content (html/js) folio ovarlays in a Folio, to implement interactive content.

  At the opening of this folio, Adobe Content Viewer is suddenly down.

  Is there a good way to solve this problem?

  If you have 20 pages in a section, and each one has overlays in web, I'm not surprised, that you are short of memory. To ensure a smooth experience for readers in an article, charge us more than just the first page.

  I suggest try to divide these sections in other articles, or reduce the number of overlays of web.

  My client wants to create a digital publication on the iPad, Tablet Android and Blackberry Playbook.

  I have install the last FOLIO producer (FolioProducerTools-CS55-1-9 - 1.zip) and the FOLIO Panel (FolioPanel-CS55 - 12_1_3.zip) in Adobe CS 5.5 (PC) and I created a folio tests (with piles of PDF including multimedia elements (video + HTML 5)

  When I opened the folio via Adobe Content Viewer on iPad (with my Acrobat account), everything is OK.

  But do the same on the blackberry Playbook (last updated 2 OS) with Adobe Content Viewer 2.1.1 I can't download the FOLIO. I get an error message telling me to update the application.

  On Android version (2.4.1.0.43718) I can download the Folio, but impossible to start. I get an error message telling me batteries PDF are not supported.

  If I go through the process of creating an application, I'll be able to use the last producer + Panel to create AN application that I can publish on the Appstore, Android Market and store Playbook? If not, should what version I expect?

  What will be the content viewer Adobe happen on Android and Adobe Playbook to support the latest versions of folio?

  If I have to RETURN my Indesign with the previous version of the producer + Panle, what are the real producer + Panel to install to support each platform? And I must have more than one PC to create environments of development for each platform?

  The BlackBerry PlayBook is no longer supported. Publishers did not show enough interest in creating applications for the platform to justify development and testing resources.

  If you want that your app in Android Market, you probably want it to appear in the Amazon Appstore as well.

  On Android, with articles PDF folios are not supported. Use a different image format. The viewer of the Android Market is up to date. We are still waiting on Apple and Amazon to approve.

  I don't know if you wonder if you can create a single application for each platform, or a unique folio for each platform. Apple uses the .ipa and Android/Amazon use .apk format. You need to create and submit separate viewer applications. Use the viewer generator to create applications.

• Strange problem of Content Viewer: downloads don't "stick".

  I got a Folio to be downloaded it appeared after update to the last Content Viewer on my iPad (retina, retina and iPad 2 standard mini).

  For some reason any after quiting Content Viewer on my iPad and start the application content viewer, tapping to see this folio resulted in a blank screen on my iPad. It seemed that Content Viewer app crashed.

  After quiting the app again and restart the application, he says that the folio is in the cloud. I need to download again.

  From there, you can repeat these steps again and again: download; read; close the application content viewer; start the application content viewer; read folio: empty and crash;  Folio restart Content Viewer: from iPad and must be downloaded again. Repeat steps.

  I'm stumped... I have no idea where start even solve this other than the steps that I have already mentioned above...

  Characters non-ASCII in the title would be the cause (he has a slash and the copyright sign)? No, which seems to make no difference...

  This problem is corrected in r30, however exit r30 content viewer Adobe has not yet been approved by Apple. If you are a customer or company, pro you can build the latest version of Adobe Content Viewer for iOS using App Builder instead of waiting for approval from Apple.

• Navto links does not work in the content viewer

  When I consult my folio in Content Viewer, the buttons I created to navigate to other articles in the folio do not work. I chose the option of hyperlink and typed navto://articlename in the field, so I'm not sure of what could be the problem. Has anyone else had this problem using CS5?

  Should be. All I can say is that I had no problem with navto: / / buttons.

  Check the spelling and make sure that the buttons are on top of everything else.

  When I try to get a glimpse of a folio on the desktop I get the message: an error occurred generating overview of folio. Content Viewer Adobe® not found.

  I uninstalled Air and installed again. Everything is up-to-date (which worked before the update). Where is the content viewer?

  I was able to find the solution with James.

  It was my mistake, I did not know, that "renditions" must also have the same name of folio (I thought that it was limited to name number and publication number).

  When I discovered, that the names of folio used to Omniture, I tried to rename folio names "12 new iPad elektrospieler", "elektrospieler 12 iPad" and so on, which obviously was a serious mistake and resultet in the errors of the library.

  Set the names on the back of all of the four renditions to "elektrospieler 12" and update the folios (+ updated content) to the library repaired distribution servers.

  Learning this, I suggest more than 2 things:

  1 somehow try and implement the portal DPS a way it refunds handels more intuitively, perhaps by grouping them optically by name of slip. In this way I would have seduced rename them.

  2. Please give us a few build in the method of analysis, which interpretation is downloaded/played the most. We need that for contractual reasons. I am able to build a worksorund with Google analytic, for example, but it would be a fine extra feature, which in addition have wouldn't let me to rename the names of folio
