  Thank you Joel S. Before I could put your advice into practice a friend recommended a friend who advised me to do a system restore, which he said he would be happy to do it for me. So look like an easy option, I agreed. It seems to have solved the problem (fingers crossed), but now it seems that I need to format the hard drive.   (a) what web browser do you use?

  (b) have you been able to open this type of file before? You get a specific error message?

  (c) does it happen with every file download or it?

  Please provide the information above to understand the question better; the following steps are worth a try:

  Downloaded file is possibly corrupted. In this case, you will not be able to open it. Download the file again. That might solve the problem.

  Security software may be blocking or impeding the file to open, first of all, let us disable the security software and test

  Step 1: Disable security software, follow the steps mentioned below

  Step 2: Download the file to a different location (on the desktop) and test

  I'm not a developer or a tech: only second life 1.23 is loaded on the computer – no productivity software. I need to create 2 folders to separate destination (or directories) to the SL Viewer 1.23 and Viewer 2.2 caches.  Right now the 1.23 cache is stored in the folder AppData/Local.  When 2.2 is downloaded, it will not replace 1.23, but things & Stuff Blog of Nalates Wordpress (also a contributor to regular Forum SL) recommend to around 2.2 to another 'file' or 'directory' cache (before the opening of 2.2 for the 1st time) to prevent the inventory and avatar problems loading again (when I had 2.1 load on the computer with 1.23) when I switch using the Viewer 1.23 and Viewer 2.2.  I don't know how to do this, but reading the wiki in Second Life in caches that directed me to the website of Microsoft, it seems that I need to get/use one command Linkd.exe which is part of the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools - but a note on the site of Microsoft for the Kit, under requirements of the States that the Kit is not supported supported on 64-bit platforms.  What to do please?  TY

  a. go to the Preferences tab which displays your location of the cache.

  b. click on the 'Browse' (viewer 2.0) or the button "Set" (Viewer 1.23), create a new folder in a convenient (for example on your desktop) and select the folder to be your new location of the cache. Relog.

  c. This will give you a nice clean cache folder and do delete everything out of it easier in the future. If you use 3rd party clients, such as the Kirstens display, you might want to give them a separate folder, if they themselves (for example, Kirstens viewer uses "s20 C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Local\Kirstens")

  Hello I have a huge problem and need HELP! With all the shortcuts I have on my desktop and icons that I have in my menu it start seem to be a problem. It allows me to open any programs unless I choose a program to start with. Now, I open ALL my programs with the "Open with" menu and its really a lot of time. Also I am not able to start all of the office programs, that it says I need set associations but I checked control panel and I couldn't find that.   If a separate monitor (not a laptop), it will be setting of physical geometry on it then you can move all the
  the screen to the right and enlarge if necessary. Also right click an empty area of the desktop - graphic properties.
  Search for geometry settings (PCs and laptops).

  I don't know where you see all sort in excel. The file > open in excel procedure uses this same kind as provided by the Explorer (its Explorer discovers Documents)

  The view in excel is obviously filtered to Excel docs.

  I have three different reasons to use Collections for a photoshoot:

  1. Collect the photos in order to work with them
  2. Synchronize photos from Lightroom Lightroom desktop application mobile and web apps
  3. Share your photos online

  I find the way the more convenient to have is a unique Collection for all these purposes, rather than having a separate Collection for each. Currently, it is not possible to select individual photos for synchronization (you must select the Collection to sync all) but you do not have the possibility to share only photos marked as peaks (and to allow the download). However, you have this option only on the Lightroom Web, not on the desktop and not on mobile. It is really heavy and confused, same as Lightroom Web cannot be used with a mobile browser, so in practice, you can only set of photos to share with the help of a desktop browser.

  Why sharing Options is not available on Desktop and Mobile with Lightroom Lightroom (or at least with a mobile browser)?

  With the help of Web of Lightroom is a pain in itself that there is no direct way to go to a specific Collection - you will need to navigate to lightroom.adobe.com and navigate through all the Collections to find the one you're looking for, even if it would be the last Collection you made or made changes to.

  Just right click the collection in the Panel Collections and you can go directly to the web Lr either public or private view.

• Can't view the YouTube video because there is an active filter. It happens on the job and home networks and only on Firefox (15.0.1).

  After update 15.0.1 Firefox and Adobe Flash Player to 11.4, I was unable to view the media from YouTube. I was given a message: "this video is not available with the filter of education allowed.» To view this video, site network administrator will have to add to a playlist. I work for a school district and use my laptop at work so I thought that I got this message because YouTube is blocked on this network. But when I got home, I got the same message on my home network with YouTube videos. I have reset Firefox and he took care of the issue until I'm at work, and the problem happened again with the same message everywhere...   It is possible that YouTube set a cookie to filter which can still be seen when you connect at home. To clear cookies for youtube.com, you can use one of these:

  Type yout in the search box at the top to filter the list and remove each cookie individually.

  Then, try to reload the page and see if Youtube behaves differently.

  13 Firefox is the browser by default on my desktop and laptop, however, they have different menu systems. Why?

  On my desk, I have the old menu system that I prefer no doubt because everything is in English and easy to see and search. For example, on the menu desktop there a Tools option where I can quickly erase my history and cache.

  But on my laptop, it's the new paradigm where several menu commands are hidden and difficult to find, therefore, I do not like this new design. I don't understand why Firefox made this change, when the old system was much better and more effective.

  Is there a way I can get the old system menu back on my laptop?

  2. nothing happened when I pressed the ALT key, the menu bar does not show upward and I'm frustrated. However, I kept trying, hold the ALT key and finally he appeared. I then checked the menu bar, and it seems as if it worked.

  • Tools > Options > advanced > network > storage (Cache) offline: 'clear now '.

  'Delete Cookies' sites causing problems:

  • Tools > Options > privacy > Cookies: "show the Cookies".
