  Possible causes of this error:

• Intermittent visa BFFF0011 with viOpen error

  I'm contacting a 2700 Keithey DMM via TCP/IP, and very occasionally, when I call viOpen, it will fail with BFFF0011 error code. Everyone knows that before and if so, what was the cause? I checked the patch ethernet lead and in any case (I think) it happened on another instrument on the system.

  Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I might try?

  If the unit loses power VISA (modern versions of NI-VISA) calls will return with an error TMO (device found but not to recognize the session descriptor) or 1 (device not present, "always off") error simple mistakes to manage reconfiguring the device in the first case or incentive at the technology to see why the aircraft fell in offline mode in the second case.

  Any system requiring a high reliablility needs a UPS!  Thus, the power is not interrupted.  Any Long term test average of gracefully suspended for maintenance needs.

  I have a communication problem with Labview with GPIB instruments (with functions of visa).

  I get:

  "Error 1073807298 occurred at the VISA opening

  Possible reasons:

  "VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF003E) failed to perform operation due to i/o error."

  However, it works with an interactive control visa and this is where I am confused!

  Here is my setup:

  -Labview 2011 assessment

  -VISA 5.1.2

  KUSB - 488B with the associated drivers (adapter USB to GPIB of Keithley)

  Because I can speak with my instruments in visaic, I guess the installation of drivers for the Keithley interface is ok.

  Trace IO NOR I see beeing of commands passed through Labview to VISA so that they "see" between them.

  I found a thread where someone had the same problem and its solution was downgrade to Labview 8.5.1, which is not possible for me.

  Here's a follow-up on this issue.

  I tried with Labview 32-bit on main machine: it works.

  The pleasure is that I have to use Labview 64-bit.

  So the ultimate solution is now to run a client and a server of visa on the machine: Labview 32 bit can directly access my resources GPIB, Labview 64-bit must go through the closure of the network.

• Visa MCE with 2 different ATSC antenna. Each pointing to different TV towers.

  I live in Toronto.  The TV towers are either to the South or East.  All the towers are digital, I'm not interested in the analog NTSC reception.  I have two different antennas.  A score in each direction.  I have several TV tuner cards.  I would like to plug an antenna into one card and the other antenna in the other card.  I would like to MCE be configurable so that some ATSC channels are available on a single card and some of the other.  Problem is that when you save, it takes the first available card, which is bad, because I can't receive the same positions on both.  So I find myself with her sometimes recording and sometimes not.  Any suggestions?  I have an XBox 360 in the main room.  I thought of setting up two different PCs, but I do not think that the Extender can be attached at the same time.

• Troubleshooting with wireless - got a Satellite A200

  Well if someone could help me somehow, I'd greatly appreciate it.

  I have a Satellite A200 started just now sent me problems with the wireless connection. I'm not that great with computers but I know how to follow instructions and the basics quite well. I changed my router recently, its new with Netgear and that now I had problem with the wireless connection. Main computer works fine, USB wi - fi Flash drive works fine on another computer. Only the problem with my Toshiba. It identifies my address with full signal. I put the network key, it starts the connection, it starts acquiring network address and it fails.

  Then it starts to get into this loop, trying and failing. I went into network connections, try to fix it. He begins to repair and it does not work too.

  Am I missing something? I don't know where to start. I tried everything that was suggested under Configfree. But I still can't be the source of the problem.

  In my view, the case is clear, it seems that the WiFi encryption or password is wrong. If the router uses only 802.11 G then you must assign the card settings Wlan 802.11 G too!

• VISA: Communication with "Optris Laser Modul" via a port series

  I use a "Optris Laser Module" for measurements of temperature (see attached pdf). This module could be connected via usb to the computer. The pilot of the laser module generates a serial port (COM4 on my PC). The manufacturer's software works without any problem.

  The next step is to use labview for communication. Unfortunately, I did not find driver.

  I wrote a little VI (see table at right) to change the protocoll. I am not getting any error, but also no answer.

  Anyone have an idea where the problem could be found in the code.

Surely, there must be a global setting where I can turn it off instead of having to click a button and choose 'Allow' for each unique Web site, that we are going?
