  RE add new bookmarks folder, can not enter the name of the new folder:

  I am now having this problem with FireFox 10.0.2, 11/03/2012

  When I click on add a folder, a new folder appears in the tree view and the folder name field is highlighted for the entry. But when I start to type characters in the field, I can only type 1 or 2 characters at the most seized stops accept input. I then go to the bookmarks menu, locate the new folder, right-click it, click Properties and complete the registration of the name of the folder.

  At worst, the folder name field will cease to accept entry as soon as I type the first tank, in which case the name of the folder will remain as "new folder." I find the new folder in the bookmarks menu to change the name, as described above.

  It is very annoying because it adds a number of additional steps just to add a new folder in the bookmarks menu. Add the new folder through the "Show all bookmarks" and navigate through the folder hierarchy are an alternative workaround, but that records all the steps.

  Any ideas or solutions?

  I'm going offline a bit to understand what add-on, plugin, etc., could be causing it. In the meantime, I have marked your suggestion to use Mode safe as useful so that anyone else coming here could get the clue.

  I should probably drop another line in the thread for the guy who in (or has been) using FireFox 7...

  I'll post my results if I can understand it.

  UPDATE:

  I went after any add-on which had nothing to do with bookmarks.

  It was the first add-on I tried, SortPlaces 1.9.1 that automatically sorts bookmarks in various ways according to the parameters. When I disabled it, the problem disappeared.

  I re-enabled it and checked the options to see if I could understand why she was stop to add the new folder. In the 'Options' tab, there is a time limit for how long interval SortPlaces will wait before you sort a bookmark changed or added. It was set to 3 seconds.

  It is not long enough for old men by typing the new name of folder. I put it in 10 seconds. Then, I created a new folder of bookmarks and start typing a name long nonsense, while I looked at the clock. After that 10 seconds it stopped accepting the entrance, right on the mark. What this hidden for me earlier, it was that when he stops to accept input, you don't see the new folder to place in the position of sorting on the menu add a folder. • Why Firefox 3.6.12 truncates file names of attachments containing empty spaces (Windows)?

  Whenever someone sends me an attachment and I save it, Firefox truncates the file name if the file name contains spaces. I'm under 3.6.12 under Windows 2000 SP4 now. But this problem persists for a long time, with the previous versions of Firefox and Windows XP. Unfortunately, I can't control the names of people send me attachments. • I used the recovery disk for my windows vista and now my admin name and password do not work. Can I just switch to windows 7 or 8?

  When I turn on my pc it loads windows vista but somehow my name and my password do not work now.  I can go in safe mode, but it won't let me change the name or password.  I wonder if I can just get on with windows 7 or 8 without being able to access my current windows vista?

  Recently an office has been infected with a virus. I clean with AVG Live CD and then with Avira. At the moment, it seems that the virus has disappeared completely.

  As meeting the office in question cannot resolve the name NetBIOS of Server2, but find other machines on the network very well. I placed the entries in the file hosts and lmhosts with no effect. Connection via the address IP of Server2 works well though, so it doesn't seem to be a permission problem.

• Vista, IE8, Windows Mail, can not open attachments

  I've been running Vista SP1 with Windows Home Premium and Windows Mail without problems, including handling e-mail attachments.  For safety, I: McAfee Total Protection, Windows Firewall, Zone Alarm and Windows Defender.

  I installed IE8 and liked the convenience features.   It worked well on my machine, but now I can't open e-mail attachments.  Security in Windows Mail by IE8 settings are maintained and are defined to allow attachments.  I uninstalled IE8 and the problem disappeared.  None of my security programs are scoring blocked attachments or otherwise.

  Any suggestions on how to fix this so I can go back to IE8?

  I just got the phone with McAfee.  It seems that IE8 doesn't is NOT supported by McAfee in its current configuration that they still think IE8 beta.  I was informed that when the consumer final version McAfee support and my attachments e-mail won't be a problem.  Too bad at the moment, I liked IE8.

  I want to export a bunch of images using the Custom name - sequence as the naming convention. How can I set to always use two digital in the sequence? So, if it's under the number 10 in the order I want to add a zero before the number. Some programs that I use put image 10 after 1, followed by 11, 12, etc. I'm need to sort in the order 01, 02, 03,..., 10, 11, 12.

  The default sequence does not many zeros, but you can create a new filename template that does. For a single zero choose the sequence # (01) in the filename template editor.

  This list is better managed by only ever delete things, fixing things it can be problematic.

  When you click on a type of unknown attachment a dialog box opens asking what program and offering to save the setting. This list is the destination of the backup.

  If there is no program in the list choose paint for PNG files work.
