Vista - error code: 8007066F installing update (982158)

I have Windows Vista 32 bit and I am unable to install update 982158. I tried the suggestions on the site MS - rename the Windows Update download folder and download and then install the update manually - doesn't have two things. I tried using the "Trouble Me" link and that did not work. Help!

see if temporarily disable UAC allows updates to install.

or just disconnect from the internet and try to install the updates. You may have to restart everything first.

    Error 0x8024200D has a description of: SUS_E_UH_NEEDANOTHERDOWNLOAD.

    This would imply that all of the files needed for the installation of SP1 is not downloaded to your computer. You use Windows Update to install SP1? If so, you can try to download the full SP1 Installer and it runs locally instead.

  • Get the 8007371B error code when installing update for Windows Mail Junk E-mail Filter [December 2009] (KB905866) _

    When I run Windows Update it shows an important update available. "Update for Windows Mail Junk e-mail filter [December 2009] (KB905866).
    When I try to install the update, it downloads, create a restore point and starts to install the update.  The green bar goes all the way to the right and then I get a "failed" message with a 8007371B unknown error code.
    KB905866 appears in the list of installed programs.  I tried to uninstall and rerun the update of Windows, but he continues to go through the same sequence of activities having the same error message for result.

    Have a Dell Inspiron I1720, TS250 @ 1.50 GHz, 2 GB - Ram, running Vista Home Premium.  I tried several times to install 13 updates (recent) starting with MS Net Framwork 3.0 SP2 - Vista, next KB2676562, etc.  Downloaded 13 but do not... settle retried several times, used the MS Fixit Center 3 or 4 times to correct errors of update. Get the following error from long:

    I turned on my computer this morning and shortly received the message that updates did not.  When I clicked on the message, above what was evidence.  I tried to do some troubleshooting on mine, without success.  I had received an error message telling me that an unauthorized change was made to Windows (which I did) and that I receive no updates on my license or activation of last week.  I went through the process to validate the system.  I went for the weekend, and this is what I came back.

    Sometimes, this error can be produced when the system is in selective startup mode. As such, I would like take you a look at this.

    Trying to install the 6 windows and ServicePack 2 updates and all fail. Item was not found, error_not_found. Tried to install individually, I tried standalones, tool tried, tried to reset components, tried with all safety, tried with all users. More funny thing is separately, I tried to update my iTunes program and there as well. The only thing I have not tried is the installation cd.
