Vista hangs on Sims and HP Games

I played the Sims 3 and HP Games on my Vista with no problems until recently. I installed the Sims 3 Ambitions and it worked fine. I let my 12 year old sister play and as soon as she got, it crashed (just the Sims). I thought it was a fluke and again the Sims, she was able to play without any problems. Unfortuanetly, she left Sims on my computer for 6 hours while we were out and I haven't found until later.

The next day I'm on Sims and after about 15 minutes, it crashed on me. I tried again, same thing. I restarted my computer and tried again. Now, after about 3 minutes on the Sims the computer turns off. I thought it was just a thing of Sims and tried to get on my HP Games. My computer turns off after about 5 minutes on it.

This only happens on games, and I'm afraid that the video card is messed up. Can someone help me please?

It looks like the machine may be overheating.

In general if it's a software-related accident, it will restart after a stop error or throw some kind of error messages.  The warm-up however many computers shuts everything simply.

A few things I suggest, first to run the system restore (this can be found in the Start Menu), run that and restore the system to a point before that happens.  Who will help you rule on any software changes that can have events that could be causing it.  Otherwise, to try to avoid overheating point a desk on the computer fan.  If it's a desktop computer and you can open the sides, point the fan inside.  If it stops crashing, or takes significantly longer than crash.  Then, it's probably some sort of hardware failure.

  • Flight Simulator 3 and other games running slowly in Windows 7.

Original title: Sims 3 (and other games works incorrectly) suddenly running slow.

I'll try to make this as brief as possible while providing for.

When I got to Windows 7, the sims 3 worked perfectly. all the graphics on the top and so on. I can't quite identify when exactly it started running slowly and I mean slow! The game, itself, does not take long to load - it never did and it's practically the only thing that has not changed. But when I go in the game (from simply create a SIM to play), that he is lagging badly. To say things to the point, the whole game is rather fluid animation as a slide show of photos.

I uninstalled and reinstalled, but the problem persists. I've also updated my nVidia graphics card it is newer, but it did not much difference in any of the games. Sidenote: I installed the sims 2 and well there a little laggy every now and then (he's since widows xp; sure enough it's normal) it preforms perfectly. I just can't understand why the sims 3 has suddenly decided to run horribly.

In other games, such as smaller little such as Turbo Subs, are also slow, but not to the point where I can't even play. In fact, if I play long enough gal disappears and it works normally. But I think that it may just be an incompatibility problem because part of the mine, Burger Shop 2, works very well, even better than when I got Vista. Looking for confirmation here.

Is it possible to fix it as it used to be, or at the very least, simply reduce the amount of lag?

You can try to download and install the latest DirectX9 updates CFS3 and still need to other games.

Then try to defragment your hard drive. Personally, I like this utility.

If the problem persists, then open the Task Manager and check if there are all the running processes that take a lot of CPU resources.

  • Vista hangs in the window of "Sign Off"

My computer hangs up in the window "Logging Off" and will not be closed which needs to be cut.  This only happens if I used once sleep or hibernation.  If I turn on your computer and later to arrest him without using the sleep or hibernate closing occurs normally.  This problem occurred before my first date of system recovery, so I can't use this corrective method.  I suspect that the problem is related to the propulsion.

I am running Vista business with service pack 1 on a Sony Vaio VGNTZ240N.

In the views of an event log, I noticed this file that WUDFRd.sys has been noted as a problem of pilot as well as R5C822 and R5C592 devices.  I'm not sure if this is related or how to fix them if they are.

Are you running Vista 64-bit? And the R5C822 and the R5C592 are Ricoh drivers. Do you have more information or can you say that you have installed the Ricoh devices? Maybe look in the Device Manager. Probably a card reader or camera?

Look here for the drivers but I would also check with Ricoh

  • Vista hangs at the Welcome screen, restore points have been removed. Any help?

I've had trouble with this during about a week now. For reference, it seemed to just happen out of the blue - have not installed new drivers or hardware (to my knowledge). In addition, tried a restore a few weeks ago point and seemed to work... once. Now I can't explain it, but all the restore points have been removed too!

I'm not an expert, but I try to tackle these things and could help. Here's what I've done so far:

    -successfully started in safe mode.
    -Open "msconfig".

-tried to narrow down the suspects with Services' first.
    -Disabled all "Services".
    -Restarted and restarted successfully.
-Tried to reactivate Services' one by one.

-I got to the reactivation of service 'IKE and AuthIP IPsec keying modules' and restarted. Met again hung up on the Vista Welcome screen.
    -Restarted in safe mode.
-Disabled the "IKE" service... ». Restarted fine.
-Repeat the re - turn on and off cycle again, has got the hang up once more for good measure.
-Re-enabled all services except the "IKE" service... "and rebooted fine. Working on the computer now. [Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop, running Vista SP 2 with 2 GB RAM]

Did some research on this service and I was wondering if it is an essential service that I should be running (see link below).

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc733299%28WS.10%29.aspx

I've saved personal files and try to avoid restarting own Vista, although whereas wiping and running Linux if possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Viza,
I got exactly the same problem on Inspiron 1501 a parent who tried to correct - i.e. problem hanging welcome screen. I have just updated the drivers wireless to the support.dell.com site and have had 3 reboots success in a row, which is 2 more that I could realize by adjusting the parameters of startup using MSCONFIG. Interest how did you decide to update the wireless drivers?

  • Executable for freecell has stopped working... and other games too.

Executable for freecell has stopped working... and other games too.  I tried to uninstall and re-install of the windows features option, but it did not help.  Anyone got any ideas how to fix?  Have no idea what caused the problem that I play them often.  Windows Vista Edition Home Premium.

    Thank you all.

Your profile problem would be assigned to a corrupted profile - if you look in the file C:\Users\, you should always have on your documents.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

Between that and the problem with the games, it would be a good idea to perform a scan of the hard disk, just in case where it fails.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

Note that even though the disk check said it corrects a problem, I recommend to backup your data.

You can also try a system restore to before the problem began:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/what-is-system-restore

It can solve the problem of profile as well, assuming that the hard drive is fine but if not follow the steps above.

  • Keyboard causes Vista hang on startup/gel when it is plugged

So I seem to have a rather unusual problem.

When I boot vista and my Wired USB keyboard Logitech is plugged, Vista hangs at a black screen after that bar loading screen and my optical USB Wired mouse green turns off (in safe mode it seems to hang crcdisk.sys).  If I don't have my wired keyboard but I have not my wired mouse Vista starts fine but when I try to plug in the keyboard Vista crashes and I can't move the cursor.  It doesn't seem to be a work autour: if I leave the mouse and the keyboard unplugged and plug them in to at about the same time after that Vista starts, both work very well.  In fact, I can unplug the keyboard and reconnect it back with no problem.

I recently bought a new hard drive and had to install Vista on it.  This problem appeared to occur at the time, I installed SP1 and persisted in my current state to SP2.

I tried to update the drivers while the keyboard works by both windows as well as search download driver of Logitech Web site.  I do not have another keyboard I could try, but it worked well before re-installing my Vista and works fine on my laptop (which is running XP).

    Any ideas?

Of course, looks like it's maybe the keyboard if the drivers are up-to-date.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think it's a general or common problem. I have the Satellite P500 with the NVIDIA card inside. Pre-installed driver is Toshiba 8.16.11.8829 driver version, and I have never notice one problem with display or graphics in general.

I watch blu - ray movies, very often HD trailers on YouTube, play games (for the time Medal of honor, Black Ops) and everything works perfectly.

What NVIDIA card is in your laptop and what display driver is installed?

  • How can I organize my music with iTunes and iTunes game folder?

I used iTunes for Windows for a few years and 2 years ago started with iTunes game. There are 81 000 files in my folder of music, with 35 000 files in a subfolder of my iTunes. iTunes has about 10,000 songs. Some songs are in my music only and some are in the music/iTunes/media folder. Some are both. With 81 000 files, it is impossible to set this manually. Is it possible to do this with iTunes?  I've never played music with other programs. Is the set of the 'my music' folder in Windows managed by iTunes?  I have a double file Finder application that will get rid of DUP, but I worry that a lot of the music is not in iTunes game. How can I fix the entire folder? Where can I I start again with iTunes game?
