downgrade from windows 7 to vista home basic. Oh hp laptop
I bought the computer hp laptop dv5 recently the config. is 3 GB of ram, 250 GB HDD, processor turion, ati radeon HD3450 & card mother amd. I have the query that, initially, the operating system installed on my machine was vista home basic 32-bit. then after I've updated in windows 7 RC1 now I want to downgrade in Vista Home Basic Edition again. can u tell me the ways on how to do with this thing. my need is I want a downgrade frm 7 to vista home basic and I don't want to do a clean install of Vista Home Basic, because I have my entire data on drive c. ND it's hard for me to backup large amounts of data. I have also 2 discs of recovery came with my laptop. In addition to this, please tell me if I can move from 32-bit vista to 64-bit according to the config. given above.
You must do a clean install to Windows Vista Home Basic to Windows 7.
External hard drives are a good way to back up large volumes of data
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vista 32-bit to 64-bit Vista is NOT an upgrade path.
You will need to BUY a FULL 64 bit Vista operating system version and do a CLEAN install of it.
Ask the manufacturer of your computer are them, 64-bit versions of Vista support in your model of laptop.
I have Vista Home Basic and the 17/01/2010, I got a virus called Desktop Defender 2010. BAD!
I could buy & download Spyware Doctor and Antivirus. as soon as I activated the Spyware, I lost my internet connection and have not been able to reconnect again! My Dr. said Spyare my Antivirus is NOT enabled: my problem... I can't connect to the internet for updates or to contact PCTools and reactivate them me so I can clean the virus... (FYI my computer husbands did NOT have a virus when I added Dr. Spyware, but his doctor spyware antivirus was down too and I got chatting to PCTools and responsive guy there, no problem) If I could do it online, I believe that my Spyware is going to fix it.
I followed a lot of instructions step by step to remove Desktop Defender 2010, finally eliminating MOST, I could even remove from Add/REMOVE PROGRAMS, but I'm afraid not, not all. (perhaps even hidden files?)
So, I see that I also called Virus Elite v5.0, which is a virus. I have to be able to remove this slot add/REMOVE PROGRAMS. I removed it (i Think)... (not sure about hidden files)
But there is something else... e5t4wrvrt8wl.exe this thing appears now instead where Desktop Defender used to. And I saw in my departure up...c:\users\shelbyyys 8d\appdata\roaming\e5t4wrvrt8wl.exe I don't know how to get out of there.
also I tried to restore the system once a couple and they have failed, usually in a few minutes... then I started last night a restoration of the system, set at 1/11/2010...and she is still ongoing, 16 hours now what the heck?
Where should I go, what am I doing here?
Thank you very much
My system is Vista Home Basic and IE8.
As an amateur, I often save Web pages with the content I want, then later in offline mode, I change the content of the Web page so that the party I want to keep. Often, the Web page contains an image, and when I want only the part of this picture, I change to delete unwanted parts. For example, I can only wish part of a radio chart.
Vista Home Basic or IE8 will not display these edited images, jpg and gif. I can only record the image as a bitmap, which Vista Home Basic or IE8 will display, after having been edited.
I tried to share the image with EVERYONE. I tried to share the webpage with ALL file.
I don't know if this problem is of Vista Home Basic or IE8, but this IS Microsoft.
Someone knows a way to solve this problem?
What is one of the tools Microsoft neutered for the cheap Vista Home Basic?The painting seems to be the problem. I had not heard of this problem with the paint before, but it is possible, that he has always been there. At least you have a program that gives you a work around for the problem you may need to consider that your standard procedure (since there is no way to uninstall it and reinstall Microsoft Paint on its own to fix everything that could be bad if indeed there is one problem other than a stardard deficit in the program. It is not a very sophisticated program, after all - but what you try to do should work as far as I know (he just apparently)).
Maybe you can get more information in the Forum program: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vistaprograms/threads where people who specialize in Vista (like Microsoft Paint) additional programs will be more than happy to help you with your problem (if there is in fact a solution).
I hope this helps.
Basically, I installed windows 2000 on my machine and I can't find a download for windows vista home basic that doesn't have some kind of crack or keygen. I want a legal copy not a hack. I have the serial number supplied with my computer. where can I find this download or get a drive.
Here are all LEGAL for Vista:
How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.
See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.
Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...
Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.
Ask them if you can also make recovery disk/s for the recovery Partition in case of a system Crash or hard drive failure.
They will tell you how to do this.
Every computer manufacturer has their own way of making recovery disk/s.
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
Windows Vista Home Basic preinstalled on my Compaq laptop will not accept code provided with the computer installation. HP can't help. Your say talking to HP and HP technicians say they are unable to help him. I'm now using valid XP. HP say that conflict with Vista. Can anyone help?
original title: VISTA VS. XPYour technicians say talk to HP
Sorry, this is not Microsoft. This is a public forum from user to user hosted by Microsoft on its servers for the comfort of its clients, and we all here are volunteers.
You say you use XP. What is your question? What do you mean 'conflicts with Vista?
I suggest recovery discs you order from HP for your computer. If HP is no longer the issue of stocks you can order such a third of Recovery - Disks.com. There are several of these companies. If you are going to use XP, you need to install XP from scratch and this means that you need XP drivers for your brand and model. If HP has no XP drivers on your computer you must not try to use XP on it.
Remember that Vista Starter, Home Basic, Home Premium and Ultimate out of Microsoft support on 10 April and there will be more updates, including critical security patches after that date. Only Vista business and company will continue to receive updates. You might consider this a good time to upgrade to Windows 7. You must download and run the Windows Update Advisor once you restored Vista successfully.
