Installed on a new system, printer will not print

I have a problem with my Brothers printer that I put myself in my Toshiba, a new computer I have, I have just purchased-i he transferred from my old computer Dell - I downloaded it, I have a print copy of windows from 9/1/2012-when I put in place said sucessfully completed,

PROBLEM IS I CAN'T PRINT ANYTHING FROM MY COMPUTER - WHAT TO DO I TROUBLSHOOT?  I have TRIED EVERYTHING - not EU NO ANSWERS-thank you-PAULA BARON

What is the model # of the printer?

Using Windows 7?

Do you receive error messages when you try to print?

Beginning< right="" click="" on="">

Select manage

Select Device Manager

Do you see yellow exclamation or question mark?

Do you see # code messages in the status of the printer properties window?

Open the printer Troubleshooter

Have you checked your ink cartridges?  If not used on a regular basis (monthly), they will dry out.

Try cleaning the printer

You might also look for downloads of your printer.  Check the availability of a troubleshooting utility
