Vista not taking the product key

Hi all

My son has a Toshiba Equium L40. A few days ago, the machine would start but after the + screen Windows Loading + the only thing on the screen was the mouse pointer.

We have tried to start in + Mode security +, but that did not work or the other. The only thing left was to reinstall Vista. However, no matter what we tried that did not work either. It was as if there was no partition or image.

Regardless, Dad has an OEM copy of the OS +(Vista Home Premium) +. We created the computer and found that a single partition that we thought was a little strange that we had no OS or recovery disk with the computer, but we persevered. When he came to typing in the + product key + located on the underside of the computer, Vista would not accept.

We have installed without entering the key, but it must be enabled in the next 30 days.

Is there anyway that we can get the computer and the operating system/Microsoft to accept the PID that came with the computer?

Toshiba, almost all laptops come with recovery DVDs. If this is not the case user may create a recovery on its own media and to be honest, it is very important. In a situation like yours, you can use recovery DVDs and make clean OS install.

In my opinion you should clarify this with your local reseller or Toshiba directly (contact service provider authorized in your country). Maybe they will send you a copy.

Return to the activation key: as far as I know, this key is not a kind of universal key and it belongs to the preinstalled copy (factory settings). The best thing to do is therefore reseller or Toshiba Recovery DVD and order.
In the meantime, you can use this version of Vista 30 days.
