Vista repartitioned a partition of 100G to 60G unallocated by itself?

my vista on 320 GB HDD partitioned into batches of 100 GB has a way "forgotten'or 'power jumped" or are shaken "the parameters of this part for something that I did not plan and cannot explain. After a review, I can't understand why my full 30% score is now 36 GB of raw-64 GB unallocated space with no way to recover or restore the system to its original state, I do not know where to start-it and a lot of work. The information stored is that the only consideration on it just installed OS (last month) on this new hard drive (seagate). I have not read how to (re) set up the partition information correct WITHOUT formatting the drive - especially since it has decided to rename allocated gross/no! so... what I respond to? I have a program that recovers deleted data (as long as its recognized as recycle bin trash {which is now}) and that he finds some prg but used everything on the non affected - my line of conduct is therefore as above-help-it has certainly jumped in time-(or alien)

Success - Ive managed to get the partion returns with the data after security reallocated and not fully but descriptors just the space used. Strange, the comp. Management says 100 GB but the partion in my computer/properties indicates that the used space? unknown - this problem is the same that destroyed my previous os tis {like all my questions, this forum application and shows} the same thing for the past 6 months, maybe a word quite for the MS guys could isolate the cause of the problem, because can be determined by a number of things, especially the last update "Volume WPD driver" kicked the sys in the 'SHOCK '? can you do that... IM no technician. It took all week, just to reset the settings.

  • Vista Boot Camp partition does not start

I have been using Fusion to open my Boot Camp with Vista Ultimate installed partition.  It worked fine for months.  Suddenly, I get a windows Boot Manager error.  The message says that some required files missing.  Here's the weird: I can open the Visa using Boot Camp partition.

    Any ideas?

    Tim

Note: These steps assume that you have a default Apple installation of Windows and a VMware Fusion Boot Camp Virtual Machine default partition and if you changed the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine to add additional hard disks to be virtual or RAW disk then do not use these instructions unless you backup the Boot Camp partition the Virtual Machine package first.

    1. If the merger is open, close it.

    2. in a Terminal (/ Applications/Utilities/Terminal) copy and paste command, as the following and then press Enter and it will remove the Boot Camp Virtual Machine meta-data partition. Note: This does not affect the Boot Camp partition to install Windows. Also make sure that you copy the entire command below "rm" line at the beginning of the ' (quote) after the p in the Camp. "

RM - dfr "/Users/$ the specified item was not found./Library/Application Support/VMware Fusion/Virtual Machines / Boot Camp."

    3. start Fusion (/ Applications/VMware Fusion.app) and select the Boot Camp partition on the library of the Virtual Machine window, and then click the run button.

Notes: Then, an authentication dialog box appears. "VMware Fusion requires that you type your password." Enter your name and password, and then click OK. (It is necessary to remove the Boot Camp for the merge partition to access it directly).

Then, we should see a Boot Camp partition message stating "VMware Fusion prepares your Boot Camp partition to run as a virtual machine. This may take a few minutes. This occurs once. »

When the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine starts for the first time after this VMware Tools may want or will install/update and restart the virtual partition Boot Camp Machine.

  • Equium A-200 - reinstall Vista deleted my partition

I got an A-200 for one year or until now Equium and finally she needed to reinstall Vista. He was originally an 80 gig HARD drive partitioned into two drives (same size, I think remember me). I took the plunge, as I had already done on my old XP laptop on countless occasions and installed the recovery disc. I followed the instructions on the screen, which seemed amounted to not more 'Recover Windows' Attention "this will erase your drive", once again, as with my old laptop XP.

Imagine my surprise, then, after installation, to discover what the score has disappeared and all my saved data. Now, all I have is a disk hard fat 80gig, as opposed to 2 40gig drives and no data.

Now, it is quite possible that I missed something when you use the recovery disk. But I am sure that there is no obvious warning that Vista would erase all partitions.

Can you tell me if I missed something in the installation process, or if it is standard for either Vista, or Toshiba laptops, to clear the partitions before installing windows? If this is the case, who made this decision?
There must be a lot of people like me who migrate assuming that a laptop with a partitioned drive is there so that you can put your data safely on the second drive if you need to reinstall windows. Is it a common thing? Is it me? I'm going crazy after three days using file recovery software?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

What say about it? If you are not sure why you didn t come here and ask the next question?

Anyway, the fact is that the whole HARD disk is erased before the start of the recovery procedure. When you use Microsoft installations CD or old Toshiba recovery media option where you can choose option called installation on an existing partition there. This option doesn't exist more.

I know, it's a shame, but there is no chance for the installation of operating system on existing partition. For this reason, it is important to back up all data from external device before you take the new installation of the OS.

After this mixture of partitions, you destroyed drive HARD (F8) installation option. There is nothing you can do about it.

  • Installation of a separate install Clean bootable your OS Vista on another partition or drive.

Installation of a separate bootable 'Clean Install' of my Vista operating system on another partition or drive.

I want to end up with two installations of my Vista operating system startup:

    1. a Vista bootable installation would be just the current which is functional and has many programs installed etc...

    2. the second installation of Vista would be another partition (another reader would be OK too). It would be a place clean, fresh install any program or data and not of parameters that would be present if it was the first Virgin installation.

3 on boot-up, only two facilities operating system Vista would be active - one chosen by the user at boot time.

Is this possible? What license issues/costs should apply?

    jwcrim

    2. install Vista requires 2 licenses of Vista.

    Microsoft sells more than Vista.

  • Unable to access the Vista Boot Camp partition.

I've got Snow Leopard 10.6.2 on an iMac Intel Core 2 Duo 3.06 GHz with 4 GB of ram.  My version of Fusion is 2.0.6.  Vista Home Premium (32-bit, of course) is upgraded to SP2.  All I am able to do is a blue screen of death when I try to access my Boot Camp by merge partition.  This senario has never worked for me.  I just use Fusion to access another copy of Windows that I designated merger.  The exact code is available on the attached screenshot.  I am able to access my Boot Camp partition without problems on a restart.  I looked for a specific answer to my problem with no luck.  The only thing I've tried so far is increase the default 512 MB available ram (I think) to about 2 GB.  Please help me to solve my problem.

    Thank you

    Hello

The recovery of the system takes your computer to a State where you will have just the factory settings and nothing more. In other words, that it will also format the computer in this process.

So, I'm sure that the cookie will be effacΘ when you do a full system restore. You can check the items below which talks about backup and restore. I also suggest you make a backup of data you want to keep for the future and to restore once you reinstall the operating system.

    > What steps should I follow?
As far as I know on the second partition of HARD drive folder HDDRecovery is saved recovery image. When you start the installation of (F8 at startup) HARD disk recovery partition recovery image D will be installed on the C partition. In this case the D partition is not deleted. C just partition will be formatted before installation of recovery image begins.
Just use F8 option and go fix my computer. Just follow the on-screen menu and choose the software factory default recovery option.
    > 2 If the disc is defective, how do I re - install supplied OS (vista) for a new HARD drive?
After reading this question, I see you didn't read the document s user manuals. You need to create a recovery media (DVD recovery) and this recovery DVD you can use for recovery image installation if there is a problem with the HARD drive or you want to install original recovery image on the new HARD drive.
3 > unrelated meanings, can I upgrade to Windows 7 (clean install) 32 or 64 bit version?
Of course you can do it. Please visit the download page of Toshiba on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp and check if all the drivers, tools and utilities are available here. Of course before doing this, create recovery DVDs.

If you have any other questions you are welcome.

  • Reinstall Vista 64-bit on the partition C erase data on other partitions?

    Hello!

My computer crashed recently pretty poorly, and the repair did not work, so I'll reinstall Vista.
What I wanted to know before I looked at however, was reinstalling Vista on a partition would be to delete data on other partitions. I mean, I know it would erase all the files on the C partition, but what about others?

I have a 500 GB HARD drive divided into four even of the partitions, and have a lot of files and media on the other three partitions, but nothing of any consequence on the C partition where Vista is installed.

I'd rather be able to just re - install without transfer 100 s of GB data on mobile devices, as this would not only take ages, but be very annoying.

    Any help/advice would be appreciated.

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

The link above will show you how do it.

    It's a very good tutorial/pictorial.

Articles 9, 10 and 11 will show you what I mean.

    Good luck with it.

    See you soon.

9 click on custom (advanced option). (See screenshot below)

10 select the hard disk you want to install Vista on, and then click Options (Advanced) readers. (See screenshot below)

11 click Format to format the hard drive. (See screenshot below)
NOTE: If you have more than one partition on the hard drive and you want to get rid of him make a big drive, then click on Remove for each partition. Now, click on new , and adjust the size of the partition that you want, and then click format. Mick Murphy - Microsoft partner

  • I want to reinstall Windows Vista, but have 2 partitions on the hard drive partition which should I use?

Which partition should I use to re - install Windows Vista? A partition is much smaller then the other.

    Hello

you don't say how you are trying to reinstall vista

If you use a microsoft vista dvd you would normally select a CUSTOM installation that gives you the opportunity to see what partitiions are available, what size are they and what is currently installed on them etc.

It is then to you to delete the existing partition where vista is already installed and reinstall on the same partition or where you want to

We cannot see how your hard disk is configured

We can only give you general information on this subject

read the tutorial below well especially the steps below:

Now it's time to choose the installation type. Update or custom are the choice, but as you can see, in this case, Custom is the only option. There are two points to note. The first is under Customs where it says you can use this option to change the disks and partitions. This is true to a point. You can create and delete partitions and resize a partition using the command 'Extend '. The second thing to note is that if you want to 'Upgrade '. you need start the installation from Windows inside.

Once determined the type of installation, it's time to decide where to install Vista. As you can see on the screenshot options in this scenario are limited. There is a 20 GB hard drive and it is all unallocated space. If your intention is to return the entire disk in Vista with none of the additional partitions for other uses, all you have to do is click on disk 0, and then click the [next] button. The installation will continue.

    etc.

    etc.
