  You can ensure that a download manager is used for this process, so not yet of corruption that happens.   Search live.com or your search engine preferred download manager and select the one sure what you will find.

  Another way to look at this question is to get information of the event viewer on the failure that occurred.  To review event viewer / click on the ORB Start / computer right click / Select manage / select event viewer.

  Find the information in Event Viewer on the failure of the update installation and provide this information on the forum.  As well as if there is an error, you receive what it is and ID # is.

  Safety Note: always have on hand a good backup before you start any installs/updates/or diagnosis of troubleshooting.

  I have to constantly new updates available - which is service pack 2. It takes about 2 seconds to download and says that it is installed-, but it's not. I've tried everything. My system says that I have service pack 1, but if I try to download service pack 2 on the windows site it says I need service pack 1. If I try to download service pack 1, it says that I have already.

  And every day I 'new updates' which is service pack 2.

  Can I uninstall service pack 1 and install again - and if so, how can I do?

  I have error 80070026 when I try to upgrade to service pack 1 to service pack 2 in the automatic update feature. I am able to download any other updates in the automatic update. I disabled the firewall and still no luck. Does anyone else have this problem?

  I want windows to automatically download updates. I have my pc set to automatically download updates every day at 01:00. However, when I turn on my pc at about 09:00, he lets know me there are updates, but it will not install automatically. I install manually.   What application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?  Who were these applications that run in the background when you tried to install SP2?

  Never, EVER use system restore to 'Cancel' an update, Service Pack, or upgrade of IE!  Instead, uninstall the update, Service Pack, or the IE patch & reboot.  If that does not resolve the problem, then try System Restore.

• Windows Vista Service Pack 2, error 0 x 80041010

  I'm under that Windows Vista 64 bit with SP1 installed.  Windows Update seems to work very well I don't get updated however, I never received notification of update of Windows Vista Service Pack 2.

  I tried to install SP2 manually, but it fails with the error code 0 x 80041010.

  I also ran Windows (64-bit) system preparation tool and it ended without encountering any problems.

  Any suggestions?
