Vista SP 2 hung up, Service Pack installation: step 1 of 3-0% complete

Original title: Vista SP 2 hung up - what to do?

Simply download the SP2 on Vista 32 bit and am hung up in "installation of the Service Pack: step 1 of 3-0% complete.".  Do not turn off your computer. "What is the solution?

Hi bobmede,

Method 1:
disconnect any external devices (printers, scanner, USB (universal serial bus) readers, etc...)  Except the keyboard and mouse, then check if the installation of the Service Pack 2 takes place.

Method 2:
you can follow the steps described in the article below that addresses the question

The update is not installed successfully, you receive a message, and the computer restarts when you try to install an update in Windows Vista and Windows 7

  • SP2 error: "the Service pack installation cannot continue.

    Hello

Hope someone can help with this.

When I try to install SP2 I get this message "the Service pack installation cannot continue - is missing one or more components of the system which requires service pack."

My computer is a Dell Studio 1737 laptop came with Vista Premium 64 bit OS. Received 3 months ago.

Last week, I got a blue screen while making a rescue disk (I know, it's ironic), computer was slow, so I tried to do the system restore. System Restore does not work (I installed SP2 in fact at the moment, no problem). Looked for the solution, only thing I could find was to re - install OS repair mode (upgrade).

Found some info on VLite (knew, it has not been accepted by MS). Did the repair installation with VLite, added updates and drivers, took only some of the great language files. Load and run fine, ran all updates to windows. When I tried to install SP2, I got the "Service pack installation cannot continue - one or more components of the system that requires the service pack are missing. Looking for solutions, concluded the MS 'this may be due to the installation of VLite"only resolution is to re - install with OEM disc.

If that's what I did, re-installed, (repair - upgrade), once again. Load and run fine, ran all updates to windows. When I tried to install SP2 I got the "Service pack installation cannot continue - is missing one or more components of the system which requires service pack"-NEW.

    I have:

    -tried several times

    -uninstalled VLite (of fat)

    -Disabled antivirus, Norton 360

    -Downloaded the standalone KB948465 - X 64

-guarantees for KB955430 and all updates were installed

    -Ran "reset windows update components.

    -Re-installed "Windows updater.

-We searched MS forum and Web site for help, can't find anything on the message of"missing components".

    -Ran "System tool" KB947821

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Compatibility problem XP Dell Wireless 1395 mini-map WLAN driver currently installed Vista Home Edition 32 bit Service Pack II

Hi, my OS is Windows Vista Home Edition 32 bit Service Pack 2 - installed on XP by the owner without first unintalling XP.  Although my Device Manager lists the mini-map Dell Wireless WLAN 1395 as working properly, what Windows says that it has stopped working correctly because the driver installed is not compatible with my current operating system (just one of the many questions).  Although I can get online wireless most of the time, IE and Google Chrome often freeze and there are a few minutes, I got a blue screen - not for the first time - that shut down Windows.  I note the other error message information that a fatal error has occurred that required Windows stops, so am not sure that the two problems are related or not.  I tried to find a compatible driver for what I assume is a WLAN Mini card for the original XP OS on the compatibility of Vista site, but there is no driver is listed for the Dell Wireless WLAN mini-map 1395.

I have the Vista installation CD, but not the verification code necessary to reinstall.  It will appear somewhere on this computer under the program or the ancillary system (information) available to administrators?

Just out of curiosity, there is a feature of rectangular white USB printed with the name "Biogear" attached to one of my ports, although he is not listed among devices on my computer since the computer laptop original owner died and I can not ask what is its purpose or what program it was meant to facilitate. I tried to remove it and it came out (the envelope detached the part inserted into the USB port) without affecting my ability to access the Internet wireless.  An internet search has a line of golf apparel and a few articles in German... Any ideas?  Thanks, Lara

If the original owner installed Vista on XP, you need to reformat and do a fresh install of Vista or you will continually have problems multipling. If the original owner is an update from XP to Vista it is OK. However, the problems that you're seen suggest the original owner installed Vista on XP. Verification code (if found on the computer) will not be for Vista but for XP. As long as your operating system is installed, you can retrieve the key with Free Key finder software, do a search and you will find them on the internet. Also if you have the CD and ask for a new key to Microsoft you will get it at a very low price, I don't know no current tax, was $ $10,00. Since you are not the original owner (and the first owner died) both of these options may not be totally legal, unless you can provide proof of purchase or the person deseased was a member of the family.

The Adobe Connect Add-in crashes when I try to share the screen (office) in Windows Vista Home Premium (32 - bit) Service Pack 2. I get the error message with the title "Adobe Connect Add-in has stopped working". The message said: "a problem caused blocking the program works correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. "The only button I can click on is"close the program ". I made sure that the screen resolution is a multiple of 16 ("1280 by 768 pixels"), as this article says. I use Adobe Connect 9 with the 'named price model host. Does anyone have the solution to this problem? Thank you.

Do not know what could cause the problem, but Vista is not an operating system, for what it's worth.

I suggest that you uninstall and reinstall the Flash Player and see if it helps Uninstall Flash Player | Windows.

It looks like not the resolution of the screen is the problem, as you mentioned, it should be something else. I would also recommend that you check your video drivers to see if there is an update, because who could help.

  • I have Windows Vista and I need XP Service Pack 3 to run a program, what should I do?

I am currently running Windows Vista on my computer. I'm trying to run a program that requires me to run Windows XP (Service Pack 3), but my computer is only show the ability to run Service Pack 2. What can I do?

I pinched this from a blog, it can be useful, he can do it only SP2 but it should be OK: -.

Right-click the application installation or executable file (*.exe) and, on the shortcut menu that appears, select Properties. Choose the Compatibility tab, check the box in the area of compatibility next to "run this program in compatibility mode for" and select the operating system that you use to run the application in.

  • How fix my computer from vista family premium, after a service pack 1 upgrade vista has been loaded remotely by the norton online assistant: lyuv_32.dll is displayed

I am a resident in the United Kingdom:

My initial problem is that as of March 12, I couldn't load my purchased copy of norton antivirus 12 - it said system was incompatible, it's a version of vista Home premium 6 (without service charge pack) - I thought that it would be compatible, as my old anti virus 2011 Norton worked well.

I loaded the bases of security from microsoft instead, and it seemed to work ok until a few days ago, when the program seemed to be scratched from the computer-not sure why. I could not reload either.

I got a very detailed answer to my question on how to try to solve this problem in the same microsoft help site - but I thought that it may be better let norton can help me to install the purchased copy.

When phoning norton helpline assistant said they needed to load remote service pack 1 for me, as an upgrade was required; but there seems to be a problem with the computer stops after download. I called again after 2 hours of waiting in vain to make the computer stop, and norton helpline worker said to restart manually, who led the unsuccessful installation of the upgrade; up to step 2 of 3 (only 2% charged to the top of step 2)

The computer turned off and started to load, but stopped when a message! oxco190036! 2369/90645(IYUV.32.dll) appeared in the top of the screen.

Norton hotline seem to have left me to deal with a huge problem and makes 100% worse than before - because after having tried various things in pressing f8 with their orientation; as files to an earlier time (called non-registered time to restore) they could not help me further and was told to contact microsoft myself - number norton gave me was outdated and the helpline was not accessible anyway, as I call me after 18:00 on Friday!

That's why I used my computer laptop girls to send in this issue of the problem, that I hope can be solved, because I'm not much re load windows from scratch if possible. I'm not a very confident in doing this, because I can only do basic computer tasks.

    Hello

Check with the support of Compaq, their online documentation and drivers and their forums for
    known issues.

Step 1: Please do all the same underneath if you did some before as is often total
a process that solves the problem.

Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double click on the device - driver tab.
Click on update drivers (this will probably do nothing) - RIGHT click ON the drive - uninstall.
RESTART this will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue
    below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a coward
cable or slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

Some DVD players do not use the Windows default drivers so check with the manufacturer of system and
manufacturer of device to see if there is a firmware or drivers for your drive if necessary.

    ===============================

Step 2: You have disc problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD
Burn and CD and DVD read). So it is not unusual for 1 or 2 operational so that other parts
    do it right.

Did you follow the Troubleshooting Guide for the reader who still does not work? There are
the entries in registry that the troubleshooter does not solve and those who "might" be the cause.

Check with your Maker system and a device for the two possible firmware updates and
the correct registry entries for your car.

Here are the keys that I of course are those in question - for the subkeys of the CD/DVD drive
as there will be other subkeys in these keys. Do not forget to ask specific keys involved as well as
    the parameters.
