Vista Ultimate failed to restore

I had a problem with my laptop using Vista home premuim 64 do not recognize the optical drive and had to go back to the restoration of the factory.  Before that, I was able to use windows for complete backup and restore of an external hard drive.  I then installed restoring factory followed a upgrade to Vista Ultimate 64.  However when I try to do a full restore from the hard drive and restore from the desktop (restore copied here).  I can't Vista Ultimate to recognize or to restore the original copy of the entire system. I don't have a F8 key to access the site before starting (HP Pavilion). HELP - any help will be appreciated.  Thank you

My computer came with Vista pre-installed, and as such, I don't have a Windows Vista DVD.

Hi Jaywin,

1 you get an error message when trying to perform a full restore?

Factory restore will restore the computer to its factory settings. If you have backed up your computer and that you want to restore the whole PC by using the backup file, then you can try it in the Windows recovery environment. To do this, try the following steps.
Step 1: Windows complete PC Restore.
1. Insert Windows Vista DVD.
2. restart your computer: click Start, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart.
3. let the computer restart (boot) from the DVD.
4. If you are prompted, press a key to continue.
5. When you reach the screen install Windows, select your preferences in the language to install, time and currency format and keyboard or input method boxes, and then click Next.
6. do not click on install now. Instead, click on repair your computer. The System Recovery Options dialog box appears.
7. make sure that the appropriate operating system is selected, and then click Next.
8. After you click Next, the System Recovery Options menu appears.
9. click on restore complete Windows PC.
10. Select the file backup and restore of all your PC successfully.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.

  • MS complete PC Backup and Restore for Vista Ultimate backup programs and files?

I'm new to computers and there is still a lot to learn, I have an OS Vista Home Premium and I think to upgrade to Ultimate and I read that the complete PC Backup and restore can be used with MS Virtual Server to back up the computer. But what I read didn't specifically tell me if she saves some programs I downloaded, it says full backup but computer language being what it is I don't quite mean it as programs and files, which is what I'm interested in. So I can save my programs and files with this system? I don't want to go all the time, trouble and upgrade costs if I can only do half of what I want to do. Thanks a lot for any help on this idea.

  • For Vista Ultimate system with no disk restore

I try to wipe my computer and back to the original without the disk system restore settings.  This computer was originally shipped with windows XP, but I installed Windows Vista Ultimate Edition.  I bought a new computer and have already transferred all my files, I just need to clean it now before I give it.

  • Cannot restore backup image Vista Home Premium Vista Ultimate

So recently my house was broken into and my laptop stolen.  Fortunately, considerate thieves left my backup hard drive external, I used my destination for Vista Ultimate backups.

Advance of 2 weeks and now I have a new laptop.  It has Vista Home premium installed. It is deplorable that I must pay for 2 because Microsoft OS assumed that I am a software pirate and does not give me an OEM OS disk, but I also use a version with fewer features.

But I'm better.  Soon I discovered that my non "backups" are not all files that are not some base document/text/music files.  All my encrypted volumes that have my REALLY important files were not considered sufficiently specific to save Vista, probably because their extension wasn't .txt, .doc or .mp3.

Fine.  In fact, I did disk-image backups.  As recently, you mind, but at least most of my stuff should be there.

And, I can't restore my own disk-image backups because Vista Home Premium does not support.  Great, not only bought Vista * double *, I'm not allowed to retrieve the files that I recorded with a BONE that I bought and supposed to be always clean, but only in certain intellectual property of Kafka-esque fantasy land.

I tried the 3rd party virtualization software to try to start the image (.vhd files). No go.  Can someone tell me how to recover my files?  Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ixne,

We will not be able to recover an ultimate Image on Home Premium. However, if you have a backup of your entire PC, then you can try to do the same thing in Windows Recovery Mode.

Starting with the DVD of the operating system, once you see the manufacturer of the screen, Tap "F8". Choose the option "full restoration of the PC.

Hope this helps with your problem.

  • How to restore an upgrade to Vista HP for Vista Ultimate?

I've updated to Vista Ultimate on my laptop and now I want to restore that upgrading to Vista HP.  How do I do that?

    Hello

You CAN depending on how you installed the complete edition

If you have a folder windows.old on your hard drive and enough hard drive space you CAN rollback

and if you do not have a folder windows.old here are the different ways to reinstall vista

Contact the computer manufacturer and ask them to send you to vista recovery disks to reinstall the operating system back as it was when you bought it

they do it for a nominal cost of $

also ask them if you have a recovery partition on your hard drive to get back to the way you bought

you would normally press F10 or F11 or Alt + F10, 0 at startup to start the recovery process according to the manufacturer

Ask them of the exact key sequence

or borrow a microsoft dvd vista

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

This is the product key that determines which version of vista is installed

Save all data, because it will be lost, do the above

  • Satellite P200-144 never stop correctly using Vista Ultimate

Recently made a regeneration of my P200-144. Used with Vists Home recovery disk. Then upgraded to Vista Ultimate. After it was sold went to the web site of toshiba for the latest drivers and decided to update the bios.

To restart the laptop is it never shutdown properly. Left with no other choice it off (left by logging out of the screen).

Now computer laptop won't do anything. Is it possible to get the bios to boot / restore or do I need to reach a support centre.

Hmm, looks a little more that the BIOS update failed?  :|
Usually, in such situation the ASP help is necessary.

But before contact you the ASP and will be sent to this device on the balance I would recommend removing the battery and disconnect the laptop power adapter.
Then wait about 20 min, then reconnect both sides and try to start the laptop.

If you won't be successful then the help of ASP is required
