Please help me to download this windows.

    Hello

There are several methods to reinstall Vista.

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

And Microsoft sells more Vista; If that's what you're looking for.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:

You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:

How to change the Boot order in BIOS:

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.

Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.

If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Window Vista Ultimate 2007 backup files empty on the external drive.

The computer is a desktop HP running Windows Vista Ultimate 2007, 32 Bit OS, RAM 400 GB and Intel Quad CPU 2 .4GHz.

I ran Windows Vista backup for a full backup and a backup of the file.  When I look at the external disk to verify the backup files are empty.  There are two created on the external hard drive, but both files are empty.  The program indicates that the backup routine successfully on the external drive. I have not received any error message.

I use a Toshiba external drive with 500 + GB.  I have a lot of room.  I tried twice.  The first time I reformatted the external drive using Windows and revived the full backup only.  Once again the image file on the external drive shows 0 bytes, 0 files.

I wonder why the backup files are not getting moved on the external drive.

    Hi BEM Consult,.

    1. are you allowing Windows to choose recommended backup or you choose "Let me pick" option on the backup configuration window?

We recommend that you connect the external hard drive on another computer and check if the size of the backup file is in the list.

Check if you have selected all the items in the backup settings to create a backup file. Try to create a new backup file by selecting all items on the Backup Wizard and check the result.

Do you know until try you it if the recovery Partition is available or not.

It depends on how you installed Windows 8 and how your computer manufacturer has the set up recovery Partition.

He destroyed it with a manufacturer that I know.

Installation of Windows 8 could destroy this option of relocation:

  • Windows backup on the ext drive ignores all files

I have a HP Pavilion running windows desktop d4650e 7. I tried to save on the new Extension of 1 t of Seagate. I wanted to see what was on my ext drive and finally decided to use windows back up backup files. After backup, I get a message telling me 2 files do not get supported. One is video and other music. Even if I ignore that by double clicking on the desktop icon, I get a dialog box asking if I want to restore it, if I want to save or if I manage the files. All I want to do is to look at. When I select Manage I am only able to see a few files, and it is different at each iteration. However, when I copy and paste that works. I would copy and paste, but that does not give me a mirror image of what I should get.

    hankbuck

    Hi Hankbuck,

After you create your first backup, Windows backup will add new information or changed to your subsequent backups. If you save your backups on a hard drive or network, Windows backup will create a new backup, full for you automatically if necessary. If you save your backups on CDs or DVDs and could not find an existing backup disk, or if you want to create a new backup of all the files on your computer, you can create a full backup.

You can try to save the file on local disk and check departure if it helps. Keep us informed.

  • I want to use a flash drive for backup, BUT I want a full backup of the entire drive.

I had once an external drive for backup.  It was supposed to be a backup that would replace everything and put it back where it was.  I cheated because when I got to use it I found that it would reinstall was certain documents and photos.  None of my downloads and all the update programs has been lost. I wanted a mirror image!

Now, I think a full image on a flash drive would be the way to go, but I don't know what software to use.

I need help from someone who has this software and a USB flash drive.  Thank you

    Hello

1/10 1.5 TB = 150 GB - buy a 150 GB flash drive (if you could find it on the market today) could cost you an arm and a leg. Buy a 1 to external portable HARD drive can cost you a little more $ 100.

    I hope this helps.

  • full backup on a network drive

Having problems by performing a full backup using my network ethernet WD MybookLive drive. I have successfully done a backup of files, but if I try a complete backup network drive doesn't appear in the menu "on a hard drive' option drop-down list. How can I solve this problem?
    I am running Vista Business.
    Pakal

Thanks for your quick reply, but he has NOT answered my question. A full backup (that will save an image of the hard drive, including the operating system and registry entries) is not an option in the WD backup software.
I was able to accomplish my task using wbadmin.exe. Found a thread very useful here:

    http://maximumpcguides.com/Windows-Vista/schedule-a-complete-PC-Backup/

It is easier than that, it is basically a two-step process:
    (1) go to start-accessories and right click on "command prompt" by selecting "run as administrator
    "
    (2) type the following command (changing only the path to your shared drive): WBADMIN START BACKUP - backupTarget: f:-include: c: - allCritical - vssFull-quiet

Wait a few hours and you're done. You can see the progress of the backup in terms of percentage.

  • Backup Restore From Cold

    Hello

I did exactly the same steps as metalink note NOTE: 174226.1 ... who is I added below.
My problem is that when I open the database, he insists that system01.dbf is in need of a recovery.
and when I «alter database recover...» "she complains redolog files and archive.
When I followed the steps, after the installation of the database shut down a few times and go back again. could this be the problem... I don't know maybe he's confusing on the checkpoints etc because I read that when you restore from a cold backup the last log file must be identical to the backup day. could this be my problem? or any other suggestions?

Prerequisite: The copy is between 2 machines, both must be on the same OS
and have exactly the same version of the installed base.

    1. make sure that the database copy was closed with an IMMEDIATE STOP,
    NORMAL SHUTDOWN or SHUTDOWN TRANSACTIONAL.
2 copy the init.ora files and control to create the instance and be able to go
editing mode. Check the init.ora for places where the controlfiles
be, if those places are not valid on the computer, place control files
different places and adjust the init.ora accordingly.
3.a. copy the data files (all).
    b. copy of the redo log files (all).
4.a. (Unix only) set the environment variables:
ORACLE_SID - name database that you want to create
ORACLE_HOME - the value of the full path of the Oracle system base directory
    PATH - should include $ORACLE_HOME/bin
    b. (NT/2000 only) 'set ORACLE_SID = < SID >'
Oradim to create the service for the instance. For more information
oradim please consult (the part that relates to the creation of a new instance):
    Note: 68720.1 Create a new 7.3, 8.0, 8.1 Database Instance

    5. use servermanager (check the name to use for your version of oracle) or
sqlplus (version 9i and above) at the start of the database in editing mode.
    Do
    CONNECT INTERNAL / < PASSWORD >
    then
    STARTUP MOUNT
Then do a renaming of data files copied if they are not in the same way as on
the other machine. For all the files that are in the result of the query:
    SELECT NAME FROM V$ DATAFILE;
    do
    ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE ' < oldfullpath >-< Filename > ' on <
    newfullpath >-< Filename > '.
    6. the datadictionary for the former location of the using queries redolog files:
    SELECT MEMBER FROM V$ LOGFILE;
If the new location is not the same as the old:
    ALTER DATABASE RENAME FILE ' < oldfullpath > \ < redologfilename > ' to &
    Lt; newfullpath > \ < redologfilename > ';
    7. now, open the database:
    ALTER OPEN DATBASE.

I guess that the instance had increased the first time you have attempted a copy.

Yes, your second attempt must be correct.

Normally, the TEMPORARY file doesn't have to be copied. It can just be added after the ALTER DATABASE OPEN - see the other forum thread that I have provided a link to earlier.
In addition, the 'normal' recommendation in the Oracle documentation is NOT backing up online redo logs (in fact, if I remember correctlly, the 10g tips strongly this!). But yes, if you ensure that the closing was of database completely, then you can save the recovery online newspapers - but a number of 'experts' would jump on me to say.
Seems like heresy today to back up the online redo log. The reason is that a DBA could get lazy and use the 'save and restore online redo log' method even when restoring an old backup and wanting to rollforward using the archivelogs. If he does this (it means combining log redo with archivelog restoration online restore + applies), it will eventually lose the transactions in the last set of newspapers and could be confused as how to open the database (it would have to do a resetlogs, as much as it fact sufficient archivelog to ensure the consistency of all data files).

  • Satellite Pro 6100 Wireless does not work after restoring from HARD drive

After that restore disks for installing a new HD and use and to update XP sp2, the Wireless does not work and if the card is installed XP hangs then works in fits and starts. If the card not in place, not bad at all.

Booting from a Linux CD, the card works perfectly! I assume that the driver is the problem. The wireless card is the original, an Agere MPC13A-20/R, with Toshiba p/n PA317U-1MPC.

I have found some drivers Agere, but am not sure

    (1) if they are correct
    (2) how to install since the machine works in a way limited with the card in place.

    Any advice?

    Hello

I checked the page of the pilot and the only available for Windows XP WLan driver is the driver of v.1.11.108 Agere.

    (1) just try to install this driver. If the driver is not correct or is not compatible, then windows will not install the driver and you will receive a notification. You just have to try

    (2) generally you may reinstall the driver from the Device Manager. Open network controller tree, and then you can reinstall the driver.

But this is only possible if the windows started successfully

PS: Have you checked the information of Microsoft Windows XP SP2 update on the page of the Toshiba driver.
I discovered that you need to update several utilities if you have installed SP2 on this laptop.

I need to upgrade a laptop Vista Home Premium to Vista Ultimate to connect to a network of MS Server 2008. When I go to install an update (I don't want to erase the old files and OS), installation involves copying the files, collecting info and half an hour in the installation, several times during "Expanding files", I get an error - upgrade can not find a driver file and install is abandoned, no error or anything else code mentions , and I couldn't find anything like this in the forums. There is no external device attached to the laptop. Any ideas?

  • Backup restore & one particular driver under Windows 7

My friend uses the TAG Bluetooth Dongle. He got all the drivers from Windows Update and everything worked fine, when he used it in early 2011. After a long time he used it recently. Now Microsoft has deleted from servers and now it says no driver found for a specific device to Bluetooth device. We have searched the manufacturer site but got only the drivers Bluesoliel. After installation, it did not open (which was a cracked s/w). The specific driver is not available when searched. Even if it is available, it cannot be downloaded. So, by using a software scan driver, he had the driver for it and work very well.

    Here are the details:
In the Device Manager, in hidden devices, under "Bluetooth Virtual Device--> Bluetooth video Service sink.

    The details of the driver:
    Driver provider: Atheros Communications
    The driver date: 06/03/2012
    Driver version: 7.4.0.126
Digital signer: Microsoft Windows Hardware Compatibility Publisher
    Material ID: BTHENUM\ {00001304-0000-1000-8000-00805f9b34fb} _LOCALMFG & 000D

But when searched online, there are different version available. v7.4.0.122, v8.0.0000.0204 etc. But the version above solved my problem. But he wanted a backup copy of the driver. Please give me download link(direct/alternate) for the v7.4.0.126.

If there is no download link available, just tell me the way to save the driver given as extractable file that can be rendered only by double-clicking (similar to the import and export of registry as a .reg file)

If a driver is needed for specific hardware, it will be available on this site of hw manufacturers, you simply download and save the driver installation pkge, then use and copy on an external support.

There is no native method to save a driver that has been installed for later use.

  • Restore a specific full backup of data file to a new location

    Hello

I have a test instance (10.2.0.4). I took a full backup of the database and has fallen to a data file.

Now, I created an auxiliary Instance where I restored the controlfile since the full backup to help:

    Restore controlfile to ' / home/rtest/aux/control01.ctl';
    }

    Now, what is the procedure to restore the deleted data file in ' / home/rtest/aux/***.dbf';

    Help, please.

    Thanks in advance.

    Kind regards.

You can 'Transport' the Tablespace containing the datafile after completing the Point in time of recovery on the auxiliary.

All data in the tablespace must be made up - for example, you can't FKs referencing tables in other storage spaces.
