I have a HP DV9000 Windows Vista Ultimate SP2 x 64.

Display NVIDIA GeForce 8600 M GS Driver had problems to force refromat and a reinstallation of Vista with the HP software.

GeForce is working fine now.

While catching up with Vista tasks these 6 continue to fail with the error 80070490, 8024200d for:

KB2378111, KB967723, KB234586, KB244365, KB897030, KB972145

  • Windows Vista update error 80080005.

I just bought a new laptop.  I ran windows update and after you download 34 updates, it installed 14 then asked me if I wanted to install IE 8.
I clicked No. (or remind me later), and then I was forced to do a reboot.
During the restart, he installed the updates, but gave me an error saying that he had to go back.

After about an hour, I was able to connect again, but when I went to redo the windows update I got an error code 80080005.
Now I can't even on wireless internet or really do anything.

    How can I fix it?

Remove the Vista updates; two ways to do this:

    1. a System Restore to before the updates:

Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > System Restore > restore time/choose your own date > next

If you use Norton, disable it before using the system restore.

In addition, you can do this way:

    2. click on start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it

    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".

When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the bad.

    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it

Post back with update KB number, you are having problems with.

Maybe these can help if you can get Safe Mode or use a disc of Vista (if you do not borrow)
