Vista would not load (various error messages). How to prevent this?

I used my computer normally when it froze. I ended up having force stop, and when I rebooted, the screen went black.

I tried several reboots after that and various things that happened each time:
-He checked my disk (?)
-the system wanted to do the Startup Repair, but said he could not be resolved automatically
m ' said my user account was no longer available
-It would load up Vista says 'Welcome' and just freeze here

Anyone know what could cause this? I ended up having to reinstall Vista and lost everything... so I would avoid if possible.

Another way to resolve what you can do in safe mode system restore, or after that you press f8 when you have activated on your pc, the last known good configuration.

If none of the above worked to make sure that your drivers are working properly in device (no sign of danger on all drivers) Manager and also make sure they are uptodate and including your windows.
uninstall programs that you do not use to improve the performance of your computer.

    Hello

Try the methods provided below and check if that helps.

    Method 1:

    Step 1:

Try to boot in safe mode with network and check if you are able to boot to the desktop.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

    Step 2:

If you are able to start the office try to download and run a system scan using the Microsoft Safety Scanner full and check if that helps.

    Microsoft safety scanner

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

    Note:
The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

If the problem does not persist in safe mode you can also perform the clean boot.

Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.

After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as mentioned in step 7 in the above article.

    Method 3:

Try the system restore by using the System Recovery Options.

The System Recovery Options menu is on the Windows installation disc. The menu can also be installed on your drive hard if your computer has preinstalled recovery options.

    Hello

always check the compatibility of vista programs on the link below

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx

If a program is compatible with vista you can try right click on the setup.exe, and then selecting run as administrator

It is not compatible with vista, you can try running it in a previous operating system mode

This does not work for all programs

As best I can answer: error signature when facebook freezes

I think 5.1 means that you're running XP, but what Home or Pro version?
You specify using IE7, but I think that the error message refers to IE 8. You have it improved recently?

The upgrade from Vista to Windows 7

I just bought Windows 7 upgrade Windows Vista. I get the error message: operation is not supported on this platform. What should I do to get this latest version in my computer?

Have you tried to do an upgrade installation or a custom installation?  A custom installation requires you to back up your files and settings with Windows Easy Transfer and then reinstall everything after installing the new.  If an update install does not install work, you need to do a custom.

In addition, a Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade will not work and you get a message from a platform if you have bought a UA and tried to use it with Vista.  Vista upgrade requires a detail, a copy in the Windows 7 box.

  • Urgent - Vista does not load

OK, I guess I better start from the beginning. My computer came with Vista and I installed Xp with it only to remove it later. Once I took it off I tried to delete the windows startup menu, because he still had listed XP. I read on a website that I had to remove the c:\boot directory and this should solve the problem. Now vista does not load. It says "missing system32\hal.dll"

I have the HP recovery disk, but I would lose all data. I have a copy of Vista, but it does not seem to be initiated. I can't cross the screen with the error message. Can anyone help?

  • Why Windows Vista does not load user profile?

When logging on it says unable to load the user profile, but the profile is there when I log in Administrator account, how do I recognize my account that I used to use? Everything worked fine until I went to reboot my Dell Vosstro 220, running Vista SP2 with all latest updates... He went to the Startup Repair, and after awhile, I was dirrected to restart the computer. When it restarted, it went to a temporary user profile named after one it starts normally, but there was 3-0 and temp after the profile. So the desktop icon were almost all gone and when you run a temp profile nothing is saved in it when you use... I've logged on to the administrator account and under C:\computer\users my account, I used to use with 2 temporary accounts. One was exactly like my normal account (mountain), but with temp000 after her. I went to Microsoft Answers and he said to go to regedit and find the profiles under machine\software\microsoft \windows NT\profiles and change the name of the supposely accounts 2 so it would not load the Temp account. I followed the instructions to a T and everything is OK except that now it does not load the Temp file, it just says: windows could not load the user profile. I have to hit Control, Alt, delete to bring up the Task Manager and then type Administrator and password that works very well. When I click on administrator, it displays the screen with all that on the computer. MountainMan used to be there under administrator, but he disappeared. If I go down to users in a subcatigory under computer and users it lists all of the accounts that I should be able to access. All the information is there, it doesn't seem right to see as an account profle to load up. I've always had it set to start on MountainMan account without password. Now it takes forever to load the administrator account. It must also be typed in each time instead of remember accounts. How can I get MountainMan load again? The info is there, but he doesn't seem to know the location more. Even when I type in MountainMan it just says unable to load the user profile. I don't know if typing in the name of the account is the same problem or if I have 2 problems. I appriciate any help to correct this situation. Also just FYI, I deleted temporary files after changing names, in which case they were confusing.

    Hi James,

    1. When you created a new user account, have you configured it as an administrator?

    2. When you connect to the old user profile you are able to view your data?
