Visualizations for Windows Media Player does not?

Even today, whenever I play an audio file in Windows Media Player 12, there are a music note in the center of the screen instead of a visualization. Now, I have to manually select the visualization. I had much rather it shows not news at all, as I use iTunes for that sort of thing. I use Windows 7 Home Premium. Please, do not return me to different software. I wonder how to play again in a visualization of the door right?

OK, this is weird, everything works again. I don't know what went wrong, but she now plays in the favorite visualization. Thanks for everything, I'll be sure to contact if something is wrong in the future!

    Hello

A .lnk file is a standard shortcut in Windows. The shortcuts are very often placed on the desktop, or in a control panel application such as Windows Start menu Launcher.

Looks like that file Associations may be corrupted on your system.

Let us know what version of Windows you are using and we can help solve the problem.

  • Windows media player does not work as no driver DVD

Had to format drive (trojan) & reinstall Windows XP home. Now Windows media player does not work as no DVD driver download from Toshiba site?

    Hello

Usually the Windows media Player is not able to read DVD movies IF no plugins were installed.
To watch DVDs, you can use programs such as WinDVD or PowerDVD.
These programs are designed for the DVD play!

But you can also visit the Microsoft Web site and search plug-ins for Windows Media player.
Then you can download and install to play a DVD with WMP

  • Windows Media Player does not support the codec used to compress the file.

I can't do some of my videos to play it goes on to say that Windows media player does not support the codec used to compress the file. How can I fix?

    Hello

What is the file format of the video files you are trying to play in Windows Media Player?

Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The player might not support the file type or does not support the codec used to compress the file.

You may encounter this error message for the following reasons:

    (a) the file type is supported by the drive, but the file was compressed by using a codec that is not supported by the player.

    (b) the file might have been encoded with a codec that is not supported by Windows Media Player. If this is the case, Windows Media Player cannot play the file.

Windows media player will play only the files and videos only if it supports this type of file.

Please see the bottom of the article that gives you information on the types of media files that supports Windows Media Player.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/316992

If the files are not supported by Windows media player, then you will need to use a few players from third party that supports this file format.

  • Transfer of visualizations for Windows Media Player 12

I have two computers. My office is a Windows XP Home Edition and my laptop is a Windows 7 Professional edition. I was wondering if it is possible to somehow get the visualizations of my Windows XP Media Player 9 converted to work on my Windows 7 Media Player 12.

Where it is simply not possible or too much work in the long term, I was always curious why Plenoptic visualizations have been abandoned by the time released Windows Media Player 11. Microsoft or someone else would be able to do these visualizations to be reused?

    Hi Br4nd0nW,

Welcome to the Microsoft Windows answers Forum community!

Plenoptic was not entirely compatible with Media Player v12 and all non compatible
visualizations have been removed. Those who have tried to install this file from
Media player v9 did not have much luck.

You can see these links for help:

You can get most visualizations on the following Web site. Visualizations for Windows Media Player: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/visualizations.aspx
