VM does not start from CD/DVD

Hello

I just finished installing Hyper-V on my windows server 2012 and I created my first VM. I try to install the operating system of the CD/DVD drive, but it does not start. It displays "Boot Failure. Restart from a proper boot device... ».

I tried setting up another server in the same way and the virtual machine on the other server also shows the same error.

I have the CD as first option in the BIOS to boot. I have only one CD drive on my server that I put my VM to start stand with.

So, what could be the problem?

It occurs when there is a disc in the DVD player. The PC does not start, I get a black screen with a cursor and the DVD flashes regularly as if she is trying to determine if there is a bootable disc inserted.

I tried several discs with similar results.
Everything that happens the DVDRW ejects, and I have to force a shutdown, then eject the disc immediately when I start her for it boot on Vista.

    Hello

Have you tried to boot from the recovery disk Toshiba?

Fact is if you try to install the Windows operating system on the new laptop series, you must install either the drivers SATA or you must set compatible SATA to AHCI mode in the BIOS!

That's why check first before you would contact any ASP guy to replace the STRANGE.

  • Why Tecra A3 does not start from CD/DVD?

My laptop Tecra A3 does not react to the BIOS setting asking at the start of the CD/DVD.

CD/DVD is the first place in the list of bootable devices (defined through F12 in boot sequence) the operating system starts with the HD. I have a chance to start with a bootable CD!

    The configuration is the following:

  • Satellite C870D-119 does not start from CD/DVD drive

I changed the boot sequence in the BIOS to the optical device is referenced to boot the system before the hard drive. The bad news is that the CD player is started but after 30 seconds, the system hard disk takes over and starts Windows 10.
I need to create a full backup of the system offline.
How can I make the labtop will boot from the CD drive?
    Thanks for any help.

    What is on the CD?
If the CD is MSDOS, Vista or XP or Win7 based, you must set the startup Boot of MSC mode.
If the CD has Win8 or Win10 then you start in UEFI boot mode.

  • Satellite A100: Does not start a recovery DVDs

    Hi guys.
    First timer here.
I have read some of the Q & A on reboot problems the A100 since the recovery DVDs.
It seems I have the same problems as keith.

I want to start all over again the OS and my laptop does not start from the DVD.
Tried the standard f12 boot from cd option. tried her "hold C on the boot option.
Both options end with no joy.

The screen that says "loading ramdisk image", loads the machine breaks, asks me to wait, then every time the same thing.
The screen goes black, flashes very quickly and white and then loads from the hard disk as normal.

Now try to hold my frustration and do something radical.
I know that in the Q & A previous, the subject is considered as replied...
    other options?

My following thoughts are to delete/uninstall almost every thing and try and force the thing to boot from the DVD.
have also copied the dvd and tried to boot from the copy, always with no joy.

    Are there any other suggestions?

Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?

is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?

is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?

    see you soon,
    Martin

    Hello Martin

To be honest, it's pretty strange question. There is one thing I am interesting for:
Is - this first time, you try to use a recovery media for the installation of the OS?

If possible, try to get the Microsoft CD/DVD facilities to see if the same thing will happen.

In any case, I will try to give you answers to your questions.
    > Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and to start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?
It will not work. On the recovery of the media it is recovery image and this image must be installed correctly. You cannot "recover DVD in there. Not question

    > is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?
I would like to know what you understand under the 'essential processes?

    > Is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?
You can't do this somehow. If you want to 'reset' HARD drive, you must delete the existing partition or delete any OS installation. After having done that, you need to install new OS. All this will be done at the beginning of the recovery procedure.

I really don't understand what's wrong there. Please answer to my first question, and we will continue this discussion. ;)

  • Lenovo Z585 does not start on a DVD - jump directly to Windows

Hello, I just got a new IdeaPad Z585 from newegg, and I can't figure out how to boot from a disk in the drawer of the DVD.

I tried to open the BIOS and change the boot order, as well as simply go directly to the start menu. I tried with UEFI both active and disabled, as well as Secure Boot both enabled and disabled. No matter what I try, it does not start in any DVD.

I try to install Linux and tried different discs and distributions of this. When no even reached GRUB, I tried a Windows 7 installation disc, and even that is ignored.

    What should I do?

    Hello
The secureboot and uefi must be handicapped simaltaneously. You can try if you haven't.
Also, could you try pressing the novo button to power your laptop. The novo button is the button of reocovery key a small next to the power button. Has then access Startup menu see if it helps.

  • My C50 - B Satellite does not start from the HARD drive

    Details of the machine: -.

    Model number: PSCMLA-03F07Q
    Serial number: XE343127P

Computer does not start from hard drive. No error message, just the start Toshiba at the end of self-test screen.

Sometimes a reinstall of the operating system seems to correct the problem, but then he would go again, now the problem is consistent.

I reduced the possibilities to a fault of BIOS, reasons.

System boots from USB with no problems. Installation of operating systems is done without error. SMART hard drive data indicates a perfectly healthy hard drive. Memcheck will return no error.

The obvious solution is to reload the BIOS, just reset it doesn't help. But that is the problem.

1.4 BIOS update that the Australian site offers is a Windows program and the computer cannot start Windows.

Obvious answer is to use a bootable USB key with an operating system 'live' on this issue, but all of these systems are Linux and the update of the BIOS is a Windows program. So much for smart solutions.

Downloaded Bios version 1.7 of the European site but the iso inside the rar file is empty, 25 MB in size but nothing in there according to Linux. Tried to run his program on a Win7 64 bit computer and it returns an error that it could not find the correct iso file.

I submitted a support request by email to Toshiba, but they believe that it could take three days to get a response, so I thought I would ask here as well. Can someone tell me please to a working copy of the latest BIOS update disk for a laptop Satelite C50 - B? Note: this model does not have a CD player so iso should be compatible with USB boot.

    See you soon,.

    Andrew.

    Hello

From my experience that I n think that BIOS update is the final solution for you. When you set the default settings of the BIOS disk HARD appears correctly in the BIOS settings?
HARD drive is also offered and listed as boot device when you enter in the start using F12 at startup menu?

What happens when you start using recovery image installation created recovery USB key (I hope that you have created a)?

Offer BIOS updates are versions of WIN and can be performed by running the Windows operating system.

I want to remove unbuntu & just xp, thought that I would start plus-plus easy or simply to remove unbuntu?
If remove unbuntu, how can I do this?

    Best regards, TIM

    Hey Buddy,

If you want to have XP only, try to boot from a XP disc. You can format the drive HARD whole with XP disc that even Ubuntu is installed. I put t understand why you use another program to format the HARD drive

Then boot from a XP disc and follow the instructions on the screen. If it doesn't work, it seems to be the material of your player to malfunction.

  • Left without head does not start from the phone.

    Hello

I have a problem with the part without a head.

When I try to launch the app to Eclips, the app will be charged for phone and rotate the UI and parts without a head.

Now if I restart the phone, headless part does not start even when I open the UI part,

The headless part is to call the block function.

Any idea will be very appreciated!

    Thank you!

Your HL will start automatically in these two scenarios:
    (1) the application is installed on the device (there is no front)
    (2) the phone is restarted-> which is the magical part where your file bar - descriptor.xml is to record your target without head to call when the OS up bb.action.system.STARTED action.

If you want your HL to be launched at the start of the user interface, you must manually call.

    herikhi

    Hi herikhi,

Change the start of the base system (Input Output) BIOS setting to boot from the hard drive.

Consult the manual of the manufacturer, to do the same thing.

  • x 61 does not start from usb flash drive

I don't know that I did several times before, but for some reason any my x 61 does not allow me to boot to a usb flash drive, I use normally to install the operating system.

Any suggestions what might be wrong and what I could do about it?

I should mention that USB is enabled in the BIOS and usb flash drive install works on other computers.

Update seems to be an incompatibility with wintoflash, I used the Microsoft DVD/USB tool and it starts the flash player and finished the installation. Strangely the wintoflash installation worked fine in a HP dv3000.

    Consider this resolved.

Wow I never saw your post until that earlier.

Yes. You will need to use another computer to burn Windows 7 ISO.

    1. in ImgBurn select write to disk image file

    2. navigate to the ISO downloaded

    3. change the write (lower-right) at 1 x speed.

    4. click button (lower-left).

The product key will be on a label on the underside of the computer, possibly inside the battery compartment. It will be a colorful Microsoft label.
