vMotions limit per Datastore

In vMotions why there is the limit on the number of vMotions is 128 by the data store. What kind of participation is required since the vMotion data store?

Always there must be locks placed on the store of data for the management of the meta data, etc..

  • slots limit per user

    Hi all.

I put maxujobs = 60 in the Scheduler configuration, so that a user can not have more than 60 jobs running at once.
But what about the parallel jobs? If a user sends 60 parallel jobs (for example - orte EP 8), he will receive 480 slot machines!
I would like to set a limit on the maximum number of sites that a single user can get running at once... something like "maxuslots"...

I know that I can put the var 'niche roles' in the parallel configuration env, but would limit the number of parallel slots for all users as a whole, not on a per user basis.

    Any comments/advice/help very welcome.

Oli, there is no limit on the number of emails. However, the processing time for a campaign increases according to the number of recipients included.

Note: Segmentation Wizard don't limit the number of recipients that can be downloaded in a single campaign for a TOTAL of 30,000.

  • VMs of MAX in a data store: vsphere 5.5 (HA not configured.)

    Hi all

I have a 5.1 vcenter where HA is not configured. I want to know what is the number max of vms in a data store (Powered on and powered at the same time).

As this vcenter is no less with HA, does by default no that is 2048 as by maximum vsphere will be the same or not.

in vmware drivers maximum, I found below.

Config files on your virtual computer by the data store in a cluster HA: 2048 (without HA which is no?)

    Thank you.

    Hello

Maximum limit of 2048 VMs running also apply to the VMFS5 file system.

For turning off VMs, I think you can take numbers vCenter and cluster up to 15000 registered VMs and VMs 4000 clustered...

       Hola, Sidibé

    Dear user

A worm if interpreted well you problema: me dices of memory back as you have 16 GB Compact Flash, y una no como debiera works.

Como tu, not me dices "el peso del video", del cual is recortan minutos y "frames", yo intuyo, in primer lugar, Québec como formateaste in FAT32 (Sandisk Extreme Pro, Compact Flash), could as "peso del video" el ser as haz puesto in esta tarjeta, Mayor of sea a 4 GB, superando el tamano por archivo, than set el Protocolo de FAT32 limit.

Pero if el peso del archivo video, menor are en the Sandisk Extreme Pro Compact Flash anda evil, returns a esta ultima por defectuosa y el mismo archivo, fine in the Sandisk Extreme III Compact Flash anda y, 4 GB.

    Suerte.

    Saludos, Alfred.

    -------------------------

       Hi, Sidibé

    Dear user

Let's see, if I interpret your problem: you say that you have two UFD 16 GB Compact Flash, and one does not work as it should.

Like you, is not "the weight of the video', which are cut, minutes and"executives", I think, firstly, is formatted in FAT32 (Sandisk Extreme Pro Compact Flash), which might be one of the 'weight of the video', you put in this map, is larger than 4 GB, exceeding the size limit per file, which defines the FAT32 Protocol.

But, if 'weight of the video' is less than 4 GB and on the Sandisk Extreme III Compact Flash , and much the same file on the Sandisk Extreme Pro Compact Flash does not, returns it to faulty.

    Chance.

    Sincerely, Alfred.                                                                                     (Google translation)

  • Why so many hard fouls with unused RAM available?

In the Windows 7 resource monitor, I noticed that the hard faults/s went up to 30 or 40 for some process even though there are nearly 3 GB of memory RAM available.  The guiltiest process this was svchost.exe

30-40 HF/s has been seen that during startup, even though I see an occasional bump on the list of hard faults/s at idling (vertical division still well less than 1, where 1 div = 10 faults/sec)

I understand the concept of paging memory that's why a little mysterious BONE forces HARD drive access instead of using available RAM memory.

Is the operating system puts a limit per process on the RAM he be all right?

I can (... and I should) change the activity of the BONE by changing the size of the page/swap file?

    Thank you!

    Hey...

You can move the pagefile.sys to another drive and check... also remove little ram and check... coz only 4 GB of ram are needed for windows 7 work properly...

  • How many lines should be present?

    Hello

I'm figuring how many replicas that I should have in my given scenario.

We have more that we should, and I'm going to need to clean (VMware KB: finding and removing unused virtual machines replica in the Horizon of VMware View), but before I do I wanted to understand how we expected to have.

I have 4 pools and 4 data warehouses.

All the 4 pools are distributed in all 4 data stores.

2 swimming pools use a snapshot called "A snapshot."

2 swimming pools use a snapshot called 'instant B.

    o: we would have:

    • 8 lines altogether (2 replicas by datastore - a to A and b on each data store) or
    • 16 aftershocks in total (1 replica per pool per datastore)?

I thought he was the last (16) given that the hardware settings (i.e. 3D Graphics Settings) may be different for each pool (although in our scenario, they must be the same) and apply to the replica, but wasn't sure.

View 6.1 related automated clone pools.

    Thank you

You use a data store replica in the settings of the pool.  If yes you would have, I believe, 2 replicas with one for each unique snapshot.   If this isn't the case, I think you would have 8 which would be 1 for every single snapshot to each data store.

  • The maximum size of the Lun

    Hi people,

What is the maximum size of the LUN vmfs3 and vmfs5?

    Just to add

In VMFS 3, you may have a data to 64, but this store will be on does not include more than 2 TB.

This means that you will use 32 2 TB LUN 1 data store. It is not recommended. 1 LUN. bulk loose any data store.

Where with VMFS 5 you can creat a TB 64 logic unit number (if storage supports) and do a data store.

Keep the best ratio of 1:1 = 1LUN per Datastore 1 practice

For more information, see VMFS 3 vs. VMFS 5

Please mark this thread as answered in the affirmative indeed.

  • 11.2.0.3 memory usage

    Hello
We have a 11.2.0.3 database running on hp - UX.

    I only allocated 2048MB (memory_taget) to Oracle.
However, kmeninfo (summing up all oracle processes), oracle uses approximately 5 GB +.
Each process is using between 12 MB, 32 MB of memory, as shown in the kmeminfo. (is it part of the SGA or PGA)?

PGA does not use that much too.
    SQL > show parameter memory_target;

    VALUE OF TYPE NAME
    ------------------------------------ ----------- -------
    whole large memory_target 2048 M

    SQL > select n.name, sum (value) / 1024/1024 as MB of v$ sesstat s, v$ statname n
    where the 2
    3 n.STATISTIC # s.STATISTIC = # and
    4 n.name like '% pga % '.
    Group 5 by n.name;

    NAME MO
    ---------------------------------------------------------------- ----------
    PGA memory max 671.01059 session
    PGA memory 451.600494 session

Good want to if you have idea about this or that before the experiment.

    Thank you

    Fluffy,.

If you have calculated the total memory based on RES/SHR component from the top then upper limit per process can go until you have allocated part of memory at the OS level
If calculated in virtual function then it has an upper limit of your SGA.

Oracle server processes can eat up available memory in the system until they are limited to the level of the BONE by osuser which leads to more paging

  • VCPU reg license.

    Hello.

I see that many have problems to understand the granting of licenses and vCPU.

    Well, me too.

I read a bunch of messages and comparison tables, but does not get much closer.

Everywhere there are links to all sorts of comparisons.

I don't get much wiser to those.

As they say that my CPU phys. how much and how many cores phys. I can / know use altogether.

Not how vCPU I can attribute to a guest.

    As I see license:

1 standard license, gives me the possibility to use 1 CPU with 6 cores.

e.g. do with 2 vCPU 3 guests each.

But I can't find anything that tells me if I can make 1 guest with 6 vCPU?

    I buy 2 licenses standards.

Now I can use 2 CPU with 6 cores, 12 cores in total.

I can now make 3 guests with of 4 vCPU each.

But I can do 2 guests with of 6 vCPU each?

Or 1 guest with 12 each vCPU?

Please do not answer whether it is wise or not, I know that.

    What Miss me is:

How many vCPU can I assign to a customer in terms of different license.

    (X way SMP-license)

    If:

    http://www.VMware.com/products/vSphere/buy/editions_comparison.html

    should give the answer, then:

Standard is a SMP 6 channels

Advanced is a SMP 12 channels

Enterprise is a SMP 6 ways

    Company + is a SMP 12 channels

    ?????????????????????????????????????????

    But then how about you:

    http://www.VMware.com/products/vSphere/buy/small_business_editions_comparison.html

Essentials then you give 12 poles SMP? (2 proc with 6 cores)

For some, I know that the free version does NOT give you 6-12-24-way SMP. (No limit per single server or processor)

This tells me that these comparison charts, say nothing about how x SMP or vCPU is allowed.

    Where can I find that?

Hope that someone understands, that is my question.

You're a FT cut, kind of guy! :-).

As he stated in his previous statements, it is recommended to always start with 1vCpu - then you Performance Load test and change.  If an application like SQL that is Exchange benefits from additional base due to the "load test" then give more - it is very good and its expected.

    http://www.VMware.com/solutions/business-critical-apps/Exchange/resources.html

    Note also:

    http://www.VMware.com/a/webcasts/details/279

Say that Vmware is not made for heavy loads is quite fun, the link above will notice many docs carrier referencing of scenarios with SQL and Exchange.  Keep in mind that studies also shows that most systems use only 10% of their CPU, so really more than one CPU servers is "underutilized" that is why many are virtualization to make use of the "unused" CPU

Most of the forum users who have virtualized applications big enough tier 1 are surprised how much CPU have never used.  Also since you like digging the whole CPU I recommend a read on vmwares CPU architecture of the Scheduler to enlighten you.

    http://www.VMware.com/resources/TechResources/10059

Can read also on HAL since you can play.
