VMware 6 / tools / iMac sound card

Sorry if this is a long post, but I think that some experience is necessary.

Before the other day, I was running Win/XP SP3 under Fusion 5 on my iMac 27 ", which has OS X 10.7.5. On the Win/XP client I run a radio ham app only Windows called NaP3. My ham radio transmitter is connected to the XP guest via the USB port (1) for the mode and frequency of the controls and Line In jack (2) the iMac at the back. The radio has a specific output port that is somehow as a microphone - hard to explain here. In any case, data coming into the Line In Jack are entered by the NaP3 application that produces a graphical display of a 'segment' of the frequency band which is granted to radio. This allows the user to 'see' where there are stations operating on this band without having to tune painfully through the search of the band. The application of NaP3 has the ability to display up to 192 kHz, a frequency value 'segment' at the same time. Note that I said "up to". It turns out that bed in the "sound card" in the iMac is capable of only 48 kHz of bandwidth. I tried an external USB sound card (E-MU 0204) and who failed miserably in the VMware/Mac/WinXP environment. So, I settled on only the width of 48 kHz displayed. Still really good and way better than not getting the app works not at all. Il - worked very well.

A few days ago, I said 'uncle' and decided to go to Win 8. My first step was to move to 6 Fusion. Then, I built a new guest of Windows 8, improved to 8.1 Windows, my installed applications, installed the VMware tools and tried NaP3. Ugh - now, instead of see 48 kHz is of the frequency spectrum, I only see 15-20 or more. Tried all sorts of combinations in the application configuration, but couldn't get that 48 kHz transparent back. Then, to try to see exactly what were my settings on the XP client, I close comments 8.1 Win and booted up the having previously worked with Windows/XP. The first thing he did was to re - install VMware tools on the guest XP - it was the first time that comments had been executed on merger 6. After the tools have been installed, I shot to the top of my request of NaP3. Well, shit - NOW it gives me the same lousy screen of 15 to 20 kHz. I'm very, very heavily leaning on the problem being VMware 6 itself or the tools. When it came on Fusion 5 everything worked. Now it's on 6 with the tools of the V6 and it works not on Win/XP or Win 8.1.

Does anyone have an idea of what can be defined in OS X or merge that will tell this "sound card" internal system actually capable of providing 48 kHz, with a value of audio and not 15-20 as it does now? In its current form, the application is pretty useless with only this type of audio response.

Thank you, Jim (ham FCC licensed W6JHB op)

Fixed! Given that I had gotten no answer on the forum, I started to dive more deeply into what was going on. I found an app on the Mac called setting up Audio and MIDI. This app has the necessary controls to set the sampling frequency audio device. Mine was set to 16 kHz. I have no idea (1) (2) how and why my app NaP3 never worked before showing me of 48 kHz, but she did. I changed the sampling of 48,000 and the application of NaP3 now shows me all the 48 kHz of bandwidth. Just for grins, I tried sampling rates higher, but there was no change - so I guess this Built In thing in the iMac has a maximum sampling frequency of 48 kHz. Anyway, I'm a happy camper and it is resolved!

    Hello

Because Windows XP and Vista are supported by the Microsoft System Restore useful tool, you can use this program to set the operating system to the point of time at the beginning before you deleted the sound card tool.

I think it's the easiest and the best way to get it back ;)

I LOVE my UAD Apollo Twin duo. Connected via Thunderbolt. 8.4.1 the drivers are great. Plugins are impressive as well. With the current driver, you should be good even if it is not fully tested with EL Capitan. I'm guessing by NAMM, they must have something ready. But if you want to spend a little more money AU has a killer special happens.

  • ATTENTION TO DEVELOPERS - PROBLEMS WITH THE SOUND CARD

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 18i6 audio card. I have before running on my Mac, version 5.0.3 (VMWARE) and everything worked. After that I updated to the new version 6 and my sound card no sound comes and has connectivity problems in windows. I updated the drivers for my Board to the latest version. I've upgraded to the last version firmeware. And I tested this audio card on two different Macs with version 6, and the problem persisted!

Note: I use demo version 6.

The sound card works perfectly in my MAC system with the latest drivers. But the problem remains FUSION version 6. I tested it on two different virtual machines with different operating systems, tested on two different Imacs and nothing back to work as before.

After several tests, which detects the sound card works perfectly with his last official update from the manufacturer only with version 5.0.3 (VMWARE). With version 6, the problem persists.

I am desperate because I work with music production and use software for windows in my MAC...

Before uninstalling VMware Fusion 6.0 you must change the updated hardware Version from 10 to 9 for any Virtual Machine level.  Take a look on: Change the compatibility of a Virtual Machine

Then uninstall VMware Fusion 6 and then install VMware Fusion 5.

  • Installation problem in the virtual machine Windows 98 sound card driver

    Hello, all.

I have bad to configure a virtual machine for Windows 98 is running VMware Workstation 7.0.1 in a 64-bit Windows 7 host. Normally, the operating system installed without error, and then I went to install the VMware tools. No problem here, either. I am then went to the Device Manager and, as expected, the sound card is driverless and listed under "other devices", with a question mark and named "PCI Multimedia Audio Device. I don't care because I knew that Windows 98 had no driver for the sound card workstation provides. I wasn't expecting to see another unknown device, however, this one called "PCI peripheral system. As recommended, I went to the website of Creative and sought "PCI 128. I found three different drivers there for the use of the device with Windows 98. Then, I installed the newest one and hoped it would also take care of the other unknown device. However, what happened is that I had a blue screen to complain the vxd ctpci9x (05). The sound card is now recognised as "Creative Sound Blaster PCI128" but had an exclamation point on the corresponding icon and did not work - no sound was available. The other device is remained unknown. I also tried the other two pilots, but the results were exactly the same.

I enclose two screenshots, one of the blue screen and the other from Device Manager after installing the driver.

    Help, please.

  • How to record what is happening by the sound card without using the microphone to avoid loss of quality.

I tried, but there is no "Stereo mix" available options. There is only the (Conexant High Definition Audio) Microphone. It did not work. What I'll do is to buy a DVD for TV (tv Record program) burner and plug the hdmi cable from my computer to the DVD recorder and record what I want. After that, I just rip the audio from the file. I see no other option to do. I use windows vista Home premium.

I would like to know how I can record the sound that is played by the soundcard using Vista without using the microphone as a source. Let's say the audio is played (audio stream) and I want to record this stream. There are many software that we can download that record what is happening in the microphone. The sound bounces off the speakers to the microphone. But when this happens, you lose a lot of the quality of the audio. So my question is if it is possible to record what is happening to the right of the sound card, before being sent to the sound card in order to avoid the loss of audio quality.

  • Home PC will not boot Windows Vista after updating sound card drivers.

Okay, so I built a brand new pc last night. A worked like a charm, perfectly executed and all. Installed a new sound card, opened it and a few minutes put in my computer, install the drivers and had it works perfectly. Windows loaded perfectly, no problem at all anywhere. Then I'll update the drivers for the sound card, a large download but he finished. He was trying to install the drivers, then while he was, I've been on google chrome on facebook and then randomly, I lost the internet connection. My receiver wifi for my computer was fine and turned on and running great, but for some reason any my computer does not pick up a signal even if all my other devices don't. When the drivers have been installed and the updates are finished, I rebooted my computer.

Problems from there. I turned the computer back and tried to boot windows, but computer science got to the vista loading screen and then resets. He made several times. So I tried to boot into the last known good configuration. I spent the loading screen, then a flashed blue screen with a bunch of words and he said something along the lines of "Windows has encountered an error", but disappeared in literally one second about. Then the computer shuts down. Since then whenever I try to start in windows, I don't yet get to the loading screen, any choice I use to try to start in windows, no work. When I choose one my computer just is a black screen. It loads the bios very well and everything works great but the OS is the question.
