VMware player installs on windows 8?

Hello, so I try to install VMware player on my windows machine 8. It offers full administrator access, but whenever I run the Setup it says MSI does not and gives me the log file. I have tried a lot of different things, such as the removal of temporary files, change the directory for temporary files, etc.. Nothing seems to work. Can someone give me an idea of why it's a failure and how to fix it?

The newspaper showed a 1603 error so take a look to: VMware has produced fails to install with error 1603 (1009167)

However, if by chance you have Avast AntiVirus or Internet Security installed, you may need to uninstall to get VMware Player/Workstation to install.

    Hi people,

I installed VMWare game in the free Version. I want to use the virtual disk for a Windows XP operating system. I have the following question for my main system (8.1 Windows 64 bit system stand-alone system).

    1.

I installed a Windows XP 64-bit with SP 2 system. In this virtual disk, I installed a software that needs several software components. I managed to install all the components, but one. This component is WindowsInstaller-KB893803-package x 86 lot. If Intry to install the following error notice appears: "Ce KB893803v2 is for a different hardware platform." How can I make this software to obtain the virtual hardware information (i.e. not information of the current build-in components for Windows 8.1).

I have a 64-bit Windows 8.1 system on my computer (I think it said 'Host system'). Can I install a Windows XP 32-bit system in the Ramdisk anyway?

Please answer in detail. I thank in advance for your answers.

    Kind regards. Mainze

Don't worry too much on the OS host and/or physical hardware like handles of VMware Player, which is required to run Supportepar OSes as guests, for the most part, a layer of virtualized hardware.  Windows XP 32-bit should work fine in VMware Player on your 64-bit Windows 8.1 host.

  • VMware Player disables / disrupts Windows "Mouse keys" feature

Is it true that VMware Player disables (or otherwise disrupts) windows "Mouse keys" feature?

I have created a new account on the Windows machine, activated the "Mouse keys" function ("Start" > "Control Panel" > "Ease of Access Center" > "Make the mouse easier to use" > "Turn on mouse keys").  I then checked only by pressing the keys on the numeric keypad of my keyboard did indeed move the mouse according to this Microsoft Web page: <http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/use-mouse-keys-to-move-the-mouse-pointer >.

I then started VMware Player and run a virtual machine in him.  I noticed that the function "Mouse keys" did not move the cursor within the virtual machine.  However, when I moved the mouse outside the window of the player (using the mouse), on the Windows desktop, then quickly press the pad digital is no longer move the cursor of the mouse.  Even after I left the player, the "Mouse keys" feature is lost.  Windows always shows that the option is selected.  (Turning the option off and then back on does not return the function).

Am I missing something?  How can I retrieve the "Mouse keys" feature or prevent the player that affect it?  (I was testing or not "Mouse keys" would work inside the virtual machine).

    Details:

    -----------

    Windows 7 Enterprise (Version 6.1 ')

    VMware Player version 6.0.3 - build-1895310

    Thank you

I think I stumbled on the reason for the problem I described.

I think that, somehow, VMware Player tilt one of the parameters that affect Microsoft "mouse keys".  I noticed that in the ' use mouse keys when NUM LOCK is on / off "is set on 'On' rather than 'Off '.  (The setting is in the window by 'Start' > 'Control Panel' > "Ease of Access Center" > "Make the mouse easier to use" > "Set up mouse keys").  When I went to 'OFF', then keys mouse operated correctly again.  (You can also leave the single setting but tilting the NUM LOCK button also allowed head of the mouse buttons is fine.)

So, I work the feature keys of mouse.

  • VMWare Player Installation error

For various reasons, I had to uninstall and reinstall now VMWare Player. Uninstall ran smoothly, however, I get an error when you try to reinstall it.

    VMWare - Player - 5.0.2 - 1031769

    'C:\Users\Daphne\AppData\Local\Temp\vmware_1370705936\vmwareplayer_x64.msi' failed.

    Any ideas?

You validate the checksum MD5/SHA1 of the package install against its published values to make sure that the installation package is not corrupt?

You have Avast software installed such as AntiVirus or Avast Internet Security?  If so, you may need to completely uninstall Avast Software, as this has been a matter of the end for some users.

I think it happened after uninstalling earlier that maybe got cancelled or something, I don't really know. So yes, I'm stuck now with that, no uninstall, no installation. I tried manually deleting everything related to the tackler of vmware, but in vain. I followed what was mentioned somewhere, showing you how to remove related files, services and registry entries which have all been deleted when I checked.

If any help? Other than to reinstall Win7 lol.

For the workaround you can perform VMware-player-* .exe-e c:\vmptmp starting from a command line, then in the c:\vmptmp folder, run the .msi Installer.

Also, before you delete the c:\vmptmp folder find the file c:\vmptmp\network.cab and extract (double-click on the .cab file) vmnetcfg.exe (virtual network editor) file in the working directory of VMware Player usually ' C:\Program Files\VMware/VMware Player ' you can create a shortcut and place it with the shortcut of VMware Player, if you want to access it more easily.  Isn't this utility is not installed by default however necessary to turn off the automatic bypass on VMnet0 if the system is multihomed and two or more physical host from the NETWORK adapter is active or you want to change the subnet of VMnet1 and VMnet8 addresses or work with additional VMnets.

  • Why my VM's missing when you upgrade again VMware Player?

I got a set up virtual computer (version 4.0.0 - 471780 VMware Player) on my Windows 7 computer.

When finally, I tried to start, I got a notice that "new version available" (4.0.1).

I downloaded and ran the installation process. He said that I needed to uninstall the previous version before it would install. I guess VMware (the company) would be so stupid as to induce someone to download a new version which destroys all the work they have already done, but at this point, this seems to be what happened.

Assuming that it would be anything but keep uninstall my virtual machines intact, I clicked on continue.

After some time, he said the computer needed to be restarted. After reboot, I can not find any installation of VMware, old or new. The installation process does not continue after a reboot.

I looked into C:/Program Files (x 86) / VMware/VMware Player / and it seems to be completely empty (I don't check for hidden files, but I think that they are the least of my worries).

So, VMware actually invite me to remove my existing virtual machines? It actually interrupted my use of VMware me say there was an 'upgrade' which was in fact is similar to a virus that erases the work weeks/months? Or are these virtual machines safely hidden away somewhere, in a safe house where my evil hands can't reach and corrupt?

Please, tell me where they are. I promise you that I won't let them hurt.

Sometimes happens - not serious at all

    first find the file VMware-player - 4.0.1 - 528992.exe

If you do not have the file open a cmd as admin and type

    dir /s c:\VMware-player-4.0.1-528992.exe

that should show you the path to the file you - once you've found it - doubleclick it

When the installation is done your virtual machines should reappear.

If this isn't the case - and you don't have any virtual machines listed in the VMplayer window
Search your system for vmx-file and double-click them

and keep in mind that VMS are associated with VMplayer
as jpg or bmp-file MSpaint - MPG and VMs are just an application documents.

The first thing I would do is to validate the file downloaded against the MD5 checksum or SHA1 published and if it matches then clean the contents of the file folder and try to reinstall.

If you still have a question I want to manually extract the contents of the installer downloaded and then manual installation of the "vmware player.msi" file (Windows Installer Package).  Note: The .msi extension is hidden by default.

Use the following as an example of how to manually extract the files from the downloaded installer.

    VMware-player-3.1.3-324285.exe /extract c:\vmplayer.tmp

For additional command line options, run:

    VMware-player-3.1.3-324285.exe /?

  • A license for VMWare Player?

I saw the deal for VMWare Fusion for Mac includes a commercial license for VMWare player, so I was wondering, if I buy VMWare Fusion can I use the VMWare Player on my Windows machine license or is there a better way for me to get a commercial version of VMWare player without having to actually buy VMWare Workstation?

lzrelak wrote: I saw the deal for VMWare Fusion for Mac includes a commercial license for VMWare player

No, VMware Fusion for Mac does not include a license for VMware Player it's VMware Fusion 5 Professional, which includes the license for VMware Player for commercial use.

so I was wondering, if I buy VMWare Fusion can I use the VMWare Player license on my Windows machine

With VMware Fusion 5 professional, Yes

is there a better way for me to get a commercial version of VMWare player without having to actually buy VMWare Workstation?

To use VMware Player commercially, buy VMware Fusion 5 license Professional even one chooses or can even use VMware Fusion 5 Professional.  It comes through a convoluted cross-license that VMware has not done a very poor job of marketing and or explain and caused a lot of confusion among some users trying to interpret.

  • VMWare Player wireless adapter question

I'm relatively new to VMWare Player and have a network problem.  I am running VMWare player with a Windows 7 host and the VM v4.04.

I use the VPN virtual machine and try to set up the virtual machine with the IP host wireless.

The virtual computer network is set to Bridged w/Replicate and detects the card physical network, State and IP without problem, however, it does not detect the adapter wireless at all.  It is not in the virtual computer Device Manager, the period of INVESTIGATION, nor the State...

What would be the right course of action?

    Thank you for your time.

BTW VMware Player 3.x and later to not install the virtual network Editor by default and you will need to install it manually...

To install the missing virtual network Editor, the command prompt:

    VMware-player-*.exe -e c:\vmptmp

Then in the c:\vmptmp folder find the file c:\vmptmp\network.cab and extract (double-click on the .cab file) vmnetcfg.exe (virtual network editor) file in the working directory of VMware Player usually 'C:\Program VMware Player' or ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Player.  You can create a shortcut and place it with the shortcut of VMware Player, if you want to access it more easily.  Note: there are some for all the files to be extracted to then access the network.cab file.

  • Impossible to uninstall VMware player 4.0.4 CentOS 6

    Hello

    I installed the latest version of VMware player 4.0.4 on CentOS 6.3 (2.6.32 - 279.2.1.el6.i686 #1 SMP Thu Jul 19 23:10:02 UTC 2012 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux)

and now I can't uninstall it.

I used Installer .bundle since there is no RPM for VMware Player installer as there are for the workstation and other VMware products.

rpm-e and yum erase fail to find a reference to vmware player on my system.

  • VMWare Player will run Mac OS x 7?

Hello, my question is if I install VMWare Player on my Windows 7 computer, I'll be able to run Mac OS x 7?

    Thank you

It is a violation of Apple licensing to run their OS on non Apple hardware.  And there are even limits on which versions and flavors that can be run as a virtual machine.  We cannot help you here, or VMware could get in legal trouble with Apple.

  • Ethernet adapter for Vmware Player?

    Hello

I was wonderng if there was a way to assign a PCI Ethernet card dedicated to a virtual machine in the drive. I use the VM for multiplayer pc gaming on a large monitor and an entitled simply the VM its own wireless network card is not fast enough to follow upwards in the game.

So, really, I'm looking for a way to assign the virtual machine or its own card PCI, or its own Ethernet adapter.

    Thank you.

The extracted from the network.cab files must be copied in the VMware Player installation directory. This folder contains the IACS-2. 0.dll, but also the other required files.

  • An easy way to get the IP address of a VMware Player running?

Hey guys, need some help to get the IP address of a VMware Player running in windows & linux. An easy way? I search on google. I saw someone said how to limit the selection of the IP address, but this isn't what I want. I want to get the IP address of a VMware Player running in windows & linux. Thank you.

    Hi Badboy,

    Welcome to the forums.

VMware Player has no IP address, but the guest inside the VM systems have not one.

If your virtual machines based on the internal DHCP server of the player, for example if they are bridge now or NAT network, then on Windows, you should find information useful in the %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Application Data\VMware\vmnetdhcp.leases. There is such a file on Linux.

    Good luck.

  • I can run all the virtual machines (created with workstation) in VMWare player?

Suppose I created a virtual machine in a Vmware Workstation 7.1 installation.

Can I take all of this a virtual machine and run it on a VMware player installation?

Or Vmware Workstation offers specific features that are required by the virtual machine to run successfully?

    If,

If you are using vmware player 3.x, you should have no problem.

Do not forget that the workstation and vmware player share much of its architecture.
