VMWare Player "stuck" in the quick install mode

I installed a version of Windows 7 on a virtual machine using Easy Install.  It was the first time, I installed Windows 7 and I am deploying as a virtual machine before using it as a replacement for Windows XP.  As I know, the installation is complete.  Windows come with information that need activation and everything seems to work very well.  However, now want to install VMWare Tools, I get a dialog box informing me that VMware Tools cannot be started manually while Easy Install is in progress.

Any ideas how to fix this or should I build a new virtual machine without using quick installation?

The Easy Install function does not always end upward with what you expect. Installing Windows 7 shows the right edition?

To overcome the message, change the settings of the virtual machine and detach the virtual disk (and remove the autoinst.flp from the folder of the virtual machine).

Vodkaholic27, let me start with the layoff of vodka for a bit and then set Virtual Machine network card to bridged and then assign a static IP address that is appropriate for the guest as the physical LAN operating system is the host.  Then in the local physical network for static IP address router you assigned in the guest OS configure it to allow Port Forwarding on the appropriate port.  Then, you will be able to access from outside local physical host network.  If it's just on the other system on the physical LAN to the host that you want to access the guest you need not set up the Port Forwarding on the router on the local physical host network, simply use linked by a bridge to the network adapter in the Virtual Machine.  If you use NAT to the NIC of the Virtual Machine, then you need to set Port Forwarding in the virtual network Editor.

Note: The virtual network Editor is not installed by default in Vmware Player 3.x and later versions.

To install the missing virtual network Editor, the command prompt:

Then in the c:\vmptmp folder find the file c:\vmptmp\network.cab and extract (double-click on the .cab file) vmnetcfg.exe (virtual network editor) file in the working directory of VMware Player usually 'C:\Program VMware Player' or ' C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Player.  You can create a shortcut and place it with the shortcut of VMware Player, if you want to access it more easily.  Note: there are some for all the files to be extracted to then access the network.cab file.

  • VMWare Player startup with the command line command does not work!

    Hello everyone,

I'm new to the community and it will probably show. So, I say sorry in advance for the flaws, I'll do. Since I am of German native language I need to translate it into English. So, I could use special terms wrong, but I'll certainly try to avoid this. Just keep in mind. And now my question:

I was running VMware Player 3.0 with VMware Tools installed and VMware VIX 1.8.0 installed on a host of Win7 Ultimate 64-bit. The Useraccount on the host has administrator rights. Guest operating system is WinXP SP3. Since I need two softwares of different recording/Dictation on my workstation and I could only one of them simultaneously open (which is very uncomfortable, when you need to change frequently), because those two were always challenging who got to use the microphone, I installed a second microphone (that only the application for the two contest) and then created a virtual machine to run the software second with one of the two microphones connected only to the prompt. (Directly/comfortably) to start the second software I created a. LNK shortcut file (and attached to the startmenu) who run the command

    Departure of player "C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware" t "C:\Users\USERPROFILE\Eigene virtual Computer\Recorder Windows XP Pro Windows XP Pro SP3.vmx VM SP3\Recorder VM.

with the recorder VM "VM Windows XP Pro SP3" opening the second software automatically (autostart).

This worked well, until I updated my VMware Player to 3.0.1. Since the update however, my shortcut file simply is unable to start the virtual machine. However, starting the virtual machine of VMWare Player normal window still works. By running the command mentioned above constitute the command line prompt, I got the information, this vmrun.exe could not connect to the host, due to an error, the specified version is not found, which probably means that the VMware Player.

    P:\ & gt; "" Player t C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware VIX\vmrun.exe "start"C:\Use ".

virtual rs\USERPROFILE\Eigene Computer\Recorder VM Windows XP Pro SP3\Record

ER VM Windows XP Pro SP3.vmx"

Unable to connect to the host.

Error: The specified version is not found

    P:\ & gt;

I tried the VMware VIX update (from 1.8.0 to 1.8.1) without success. The errormessage even remains.

The three relevant paths for VMware Player, VMware Vix and the VM are spezified in the systemvariable path as follows:

    % SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SYSTEMROOT%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\; "" C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware VIX ". "" C:\Program Files (x 86) \VMware\VMware Player. " "' Virtual C:\Users\USERPROFILE\Eigene computer; C:\Program Files (x 86) \QuickTime\QTSystem\

    Today suddenly wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance to one that solves the Enigma.

Hi I have 3 layers in photoshop.

    1. Background
    2. LAYER1
    3. Layer2

Now on layer 2 I made a selection and entered in quick mask mode and then applied gussian blur. When this is done the selection borders trying to blend with the background, or will they try to blend with the layer 1 as is the layer just behind the layer 2. In case if there is no background, I mean if all three are diapers, then what happens?

I have read the tute again and clarified. It will blend with the layer 1 image not directly with the background that is at the bottom of all the layers. In any case thanks a lot.

  • Predator XB270Hubprz stuck in the factory test mode?

    Hello!

One of these beauties very recently for a price cut bought from an official dealer because she had been in for repair at Acer.

It really works very well but it is a big trouble which I assume is a test mode factory than anyone repaired he forgot to turn off. The monitor goes from being full black/red/green/blue/white looping all the time, except if the computer is running, and I don't think it can go in mode 'sleep' either - when I turn it on the screen just instantly appear, no logo or anything (I have another one of these aswell of monitors to compare to).

So my question is... How can I turn off this test mode factory? I'm guessing it's little order 'hidden' I need to press the menu buttons or something like that. I tried my best Googling but found nothing that worked for this monitor in particular

I uninstalled and reinstalled all audio devices and drivers in the control panel.  No change.

THEN I discovered exactly the same sound problem on my partition of Linux Ubuntu 11.10.

I completely reinstalled my operating system to Windows 7.  The problem remains.

  • VMware Player configuration dialog box is VIRGIN on install or uninstall

I spent 2-3 hours combing through discussion forums, and I can't find a solution. I also noticed that it is a very common problem and good solutions do not actually apply to the problem. Hey tend to be generic fixes or patches for other versions of Windows (which may work) or other software (which do not seem to work at all). So if you please (please) don't refer to solutions aimed specifically at the question. On the other hand, it please add real corrections that actually worked so that the next poor slob who has this error will find useful info all in one place. Thank you :-)

Host computer: Windows XP Pro (32 bit)

Already installed VMware Player 3. something and it worked well.

I remember the same error when I install 1-2 years ago, but I don't remember the fix I used.

    I downloaded, verified and then ran the latest Player (VMware-player - 5.0.2 - 1031769)

I received a 'VMware Player Setup' empty dialog box.

I waited for 5-10 minutes and with nothing happening, I made an "end task".

I restarted the computer and tried again. The same problem.

I searched an answer here and realized that I had to uninstall first the player 3. xxx.

Control Panel-> Add/Remove Programs-> VMware Player-> uninstall = the same problem (empty dialog box)

I checked the error log error is: ERROR * CHtmlDialog::CallJScript: failed to get the required jscript ID required; COM error :-2147352570

I ran the VMware_Install_Cleaner.exe, the content of the deleted, temp folder restarted, and I tried uhninstall-> same problem

    I tried the fix here: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US & cmd = displayKC & externalId = 1027986

    1. Open a command prompt. For more information, see opening of a command or shell prompt (1003892).
    2. Run these commands to reregister the files needed and details:
      • If VMware Workstation is installed on a 32-bit version of Windows:
        • regsvr32 jscript.dll
        • regsvr32 vbscript.dll

I received a message that both were successful. I have Windows restrted (reloaded), cleaned from the temporary folder, tried to uninstall-> same problem

I stopped my AV software and tried to uninstall again-> same problem

I deleted the contents of the temp folder and tried to uninstall again-> same problem

I cleaned the registry, rebooted and tried the new uninstall > same problem

I tried to install without uninstalling. I tried various suggestions, including decompression of the file in a folder (vmplayer) on the root of C: and the manual installation using the x 86 msi file. This method failed due to several errors.

      Then...

      (1) how to uninstall version of xxx 3. Player and clean while I have a no clean, vmware player system?

      (2) how to install the Reader 5. XXX without this error dialog box empty.

      Thank you.

      I have a solution!

I deleted all the files associated with VMware Player. In my user files and all (Public) users. Then I deleted all the temporary files used by vmware player.

I ran the installer for vmware player 3.14 (the original installation) and chose 'uninstall '. He crossed uninstall it without any problem or error. After that, he asked to restart the computer I did.

Then I ran the installer for the 5.02 and installed without problem or error. He never asked to restart the computer.

The only thing I noticed was that when I ran VMware Player it took a long time to start (maybe 2-3 minutes). So, I did a reboot and then it was all right, to leave quickly and loading of a virtual machine as fast as before.

    3. My attempts to run VMWare player v4 ends by, "VMWare player cannot be installed on this computer.

      Where is my VMWare

My attempts to run VMWare player v4 ends by, "VMWare player cannot be installed on this computer. VMWare player requires not on your CPU. "See the notes product for hardware and software configurations specific.  VMWare player v4 has been previously on my computer which, for about a month, has not if used causes of unemployed in the city. When I went to use the PARALLEL machine, it wasn't there. I went to the website and charge VMWare player v4 and tools for this. The above message appears with a reading of Kael'thas window, it of a FLP file and needs internet to find a site to open it. I downloaded Free File Viewer that gave no results. I'd be happier than a pig in the cool mud to fix this problem. Thank you for any assistance.

Looks like a BIOS setting may have changed (in terms of virtualization).

      Unlikely a Windows problem.

Uninstall VMware Player.  Restart the computer.  Download the latest version of VMware Player (save to your computer) and install it.  Restart the computer.  Try to run it.

    4. Remote Desktop does not work after the recent update to VMWare Player, why?

I have VMWare Player installed on a host with multiple virtual machines. I like to the DRC to the remote host and I've been in months, but in the recent update to VMWare Player, my connection to the DRC has dropped. Now when I try to the DRC to the host it hangs at "Estimate the quality connection" after I get my user name and password, but then it stops without errors or messages. I've updated the host and rebooted several times, I also tried to DRC from a computer on the same local network as the host with no result. I have a friends in exactly the same problem, connection dropped in the middle of the update and no resolution yet. Help?

I uninstalled VMWare Player and did a clean install (rather than updating an earlier version) and the problem is solved!

    5. Why my PC slow down to a crawl when VMware Player is the suspension to the .vmem file?

My PC becomes almost unusable when VMware Player prepares his State record to .vmem file. VMware Player is delegate the task to C:\Windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe process. When we look in the Manager tasks, I see that the CPU usage is just 5.10% and the memory usage is around 40%, which is normal for me. When I open resource monitor, I see that ntoskrnl.exe is written extensively to the VMware .vmem file. From writing to the disk stops, my PC immediately snaps back to normal.

I scanned the disc for errors and the performance issues with HDTune, I tested the RAM with memtest. Everything is normal, no errors, drive performance is approximately 110 MB/s. I have antivirus (Avira free) and I don't know that there is a legitimate ntoskrnl.exe Windows process. With the exception of this problem, my PC worked rock stable for three years.

Why write on a hard drive that is not my OS drive affects the overall performance of a PC so and what can do to solve the problem? Also I don't understand, why suspending the hard .vmem file so long?

My virtual machine has 8 Windows as a guest operating system. It has 4 GB of RAM. After I suspend the virtual machine, my host PC is trolling for about 10-15 minutes which seems far too long a little writing 4 GB of memory to the .vmem file status. I also tried VM VirtualBox with the same guest OS and 4 GB of RAM and it suspends a lot sooner and don't drag my PC after that. Also if I move the files in Windows Explorer on the same drive, it has this issue. It seems so VMware Player or ntoskrnl.exe is something too aggressive.

Here are the specs of my host computer:

      CPU: Intel i3 2120

      Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H67A-USB3-B3

      RAM: 8GB

      Hard disks:

OS and system disk - Samsung SSD 840 EVO 120 GB, connected to internal SATA3 port

Data disk (which causes the slowdowns): Seagate ST31000528AS 1000 GB, connected to internal SATA3 port

OS: Windows 7 64 bit Professional with SP1, updated regularly

With the virtual machine off (non-suspended), try adding the following configuration option to the .vmx file:

      mainMem.writeZeroes = TRUE

    6. You can use the range of colors in quick mask mode?

I like to use the color range and the use of masks is quick to make a selection, but when I enter the Quick Mask Mode, I can use is no longer color range. I want to be able to do is:

      1. Enter the quick mask
      2. Range of colors allows you to make a selection
      3. Specific areas of this selection, I want to use as a paint mask
      4. Quick mask out of having my spiffy painted areas as the selection

If all thinking is possible? I'm in CS6, and I've been looking to make this option available for years.

No, range of colors will not work. It should be greyed out, otherwise you'll be sampling your mask and your image.

    7. Questions about player with W xp und XP-Mode (2 people)

      Hi all

I had to install an old programming (EP) in Windows XP Mode environment, because he made more runs on W7prof. In this installation the EP doesn't also run smooth as before on a computer with W xp (host). I would check now if the PE installed on xp W in a VMware Player work better. Before you begin this task on a computer with 64-bit W7prof, I have the following questions:

1.) is it possible to install VMware Player on a computer where Windows XP Mode is already installed? (I would like to delete the XP-Mode only when I know that the short EP smooth on the VMware Player).

      (2) if the answer to 1.) is Yes: is there any significance if during the installation of the VMware Player Windows XP Mode is active (open) or not?

3.), it is apparently possible to install xp on VMware Player W using the existing Windows XP Mode. Is this possible if Windows XP Mode is already installed?

(4.) if the answer to 3.) is Yes: is there any significance if during the installation of xp W on the VMware Player Windows XP Mode is active (open) or not.

5.) are there any other important aspects to consider, or y at - there somewhere a step by step instruction?

Thanks in advance for your help.

      To the GATHERING

If you want you run Windows XP Mode in VMware Player, then Windows Virtual PC and Windows XP stop nearby.  Then, you will need to install VMware Player and VMware vCenter Converter Standalone, installed with the selected (Advanced) Server installation option.  Then in VMware Player, select player > file > import Windows XP Mode VM... and follow through.  Once complete, you will have Windows XP Mode in the list under the House.

NOTE: The Virtual Machine Windows XP Mode created in this way is a linked Clone and is linked to the file "Windows XP Mode base.vhd" and as such, you can not continue run Windows XP Mode Windows Virtual PC, unless you manually make a copy of the "Windows XP Mode base.vhd" file to another location and then change it properly the DescriptorFile disc shipped to change file 'Windows XP Mode.vmdk' 'parentFileNameHint =' option to point to the file copied manually "Windows XP Mode base.vhd" to its new location.  Note that this work around will not be permitted by the agreement to LICENSE Windows XP Mode, I have no read lately to see if it does not allow for what would be technically be two now also installed separate from Windows XP Mode.

If you do not make a copy and edit properly the embedded disk DescriptorFile then once you decide whether or not you will not use VMware Player to run Windows XP Mode more then you can remove the Windows XP Mode virtual machine in VMware Player and continue to use it in Windows Virtual PC

    8. VMware player 2.5.2 - 156735 and 64 bit comments

I have a laptop Lenovo T400 with Vista 64-bit, 8GB of RAM and processor Intel Core 2 duo T9800 @2. 93 GHz. I run Linux RH 4.0 AS 64-bit as a guest on her os. I downloaded the 2.5.2 - 156735 VMware Player and installed on Vista 64-bit. No problems so far. I'll build comments of RH Linux AS 4.0 64-bit on another VMware ESXi server and then copy it in Vista and convert it as well as VMware player can see the .vmx file. I've done it before so I don't see any problems so far.

What I would like to know before proceeding with this combo is that VMware Player 2.5.2 will be able to run the client 64-bit Linux with no problems? Release notes say I should be able to run 32-bit and 64-bit comments about it. However; I noticed in Vista, the Task Manager when I run VMware player, he began as a 32 bit application. If I allocate for example 6 GB of RAM to the guest Linux OS, the player will be able to allocate this memory for the guest operating system, although the player himself is running in 32-bit mode.

You need support of Intel-VT on your laptop to run 64-bit guests. That of all, do not pay attention to player status.
